However, this is not so prevalent in the mainstream of metal these days. There are few truly Satanic metal bands in the underground; not the type of bands that would make any significant impact on the mainstream. Also, underground metal is largely horrible and I can't understand why people would subject themselves to such tripe other than for Internet "kvlt points" and e-peen. The more mainstream bands are successful because they're rewarding to listen to; but that goes without saying.

 

 

 

My fascination with metal has waned though. I listen to a very small amount nowadays.

 

 

 

Also, Marilyn Manson is not in the slightest way a metal band. The more you know.

These are people who believe in a bearded sky wizard from an ancient religion of desert-dwelling nomads. I'm sure it's perfectly logical to some of them that Satan can influence their children through 'his' music.

People used to think jazz was the devil's music.

People just like to hate things. Whether they're popular or not. Metalheads don't need to get so high and mighty about being hated, you guys hate popular music just as much (hint: Hannah Montana thread.).

Saying that all metal is associated with Satan is like saying that all rap is just about [bleep]es, [garden tools] etc... There's even a sub genre in metal called unblack metal or christian metal.

 

It's just a bad excuse to hate the genre.

It's all lyrical, which is why I get mad at my parents. I'll listen to UnderOath (which is a Christian screamo band) and they say "God hates those lyrcis, turn that off before we all go to hell." OK. :wall: =D>
