The game grew so fast in the last year.Or more efficient methods of training were released. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Danqazmlp
^ The game hasn't really grown alot, its more that people aren't leaving, and in the long run getting the 99's. To be honest, maxing out is nothing special anymore, heck, to me, anybody in the top 'lot' nowdays aren't anything special either, don't even know any of there names anymore, gone are the days when it was the power 3-4 at the top, im bored of seeing people max now. dragon246665
its sort of like the "baby boomers" of runescape entering retirement, the really dedicated people who caame when the game went through a major boom in popularity are now becoming super skilled players
saif
centaurian is the only pro max dude anyways.. he doesn't nerd over 200m cooking xp and whatnot. I was really surprised to see 99 strength was more common than 99 cooking.
Moad14
Finally I have tangible proof that my cooking cape is not as wide-spread as a strength cape. I was really surprised to see 99 strength was more common than 99 cooking. I Wasnt, Its obvious that people would rather use a helpful skill + gain decent GP rather then dumping 3m on to cooking. ford_landau
wow that has really done my head in after reading that. i remember when the runescape highscores first came out and i was freaking out people had over 100mill xp. i was the no. 2344 person to acheive 99 fletching-- now it is even anything special! This just shows the following: 1. Players are finding m0ore efficeint ways to train skills \ 2. Jagex is realising more new content giving faster xp in skills :P 3. Players are playing more roooonscape  4. Old players such as me are going to inevtaibly get all skills 99 because of the fact we been roooonscaping for so long. 5. Skillcapes have made a generation of players obsessed with 99 in a stat so they can tell there friends at scoool =D> thats my 2cents anyways, sure i could be wrong. but i am just so suprised!!!! whattT!!! someone has over 1.3bill xp! it took me 7 years to get my 216m+ xp... zomg! that player really loves "roonscapeee" Feel free to add me ingame if you want to chat :D

The game grew so fast in the last year. Not to forget that people also Merchant and Manipulated the GE and innocent players to drastically increase wealth, causing an easy loop for those to simply buy a skill from cooking/fletching to construction/prayer. as Danq said, i honestly dont give to shakes who the hell has what level, i only care for a players maturity. FierceCold
I think we have gotten closer to the fact that Jagex will need to increase the maximum level from 99 to something higher. If Jagex made this change, it would be huge. I'm not sure the numbers, but advancing past 99 would require huge amounts of time, resources, and money. Would everyone lose their skill capes? I don't think people would be very happy. Thousands of players would automatically increase in level, leaving people who decided against training past 99 in the dust. Also, Jagex would have to simultaneously add tons of content in terms of past 99 content. Some skills like herblore, which end in usefulness millions of XP before 99 would see major updates. It's clear that skilling has become nothing more than an expensive grind for a cape, and players have lost respect for many 99's. I don't know enough about the market to go into the economic repercussions of this, but they would undoubtedly be huge.

Yeah same here, recently I glanced through the top 21 and I think I recognized like 3-4 names out of 21.. It used to be that every one on the top 21 list was extremely famous as they were a part of a very select few.. Pirate Rosetta stone.
