So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

They leaked a third person match, not the whole game.

Really excited, why does it have to be a week to go. :( Hopefully it won't epically fail. But I'm pretty sure it won't. :ph34r:

What's the best live feed?

oh. my [bleep]ing god.

Did IW fire all it's developers and just use the 1 million monkeys at 1 million machines theory to make this game?

Seriously...

Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version?

Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

what a [bleep]ing idiot.

* No Lean

* No control in who hosts the game

* No Console

* FOV locked at 65

* No Dedicated servers (duh)

* 9v9 Max multiplayer

FOV of 65?! what the hell is that?! How the hell do you even play an fps with it that low?

ok valeyard, I know its hard to concentrate with so much infinity ward [bleep] in your mouth, but let me just break this down for you.

Field of view of 65 degrees.

A human being has a complete field of vision of 140 degrees, of that, about 90 of it is actually in focus. 65, well basically, walk around with a pair of horse blinkers on. Capping it so low (well capping it at all, but console players just dont get the idea of customisation, so we'll skip that) is utterly stupid, especially considering this is supposed to be the most visceral and realistic portrayal of war in a game ever, unless we're in some kind of equine combat.

Secondly, the fact that a developer of the game, not a community manager, not a PR guy, touted "mouse support" "chat" and "graphics settings" as FEATURES just shows how little this game has going for it on the PC now. Mouse support, you know that thing you use in every other goddam program for the PC, that thing that you cant even use your PC without. Yeah, thats a goddam FEATURE now. Graphics settings. Oh man, how I wish we'd had those in every game released since about 1989... oh wait. And chat... well, I guess its not like every multiplayer game on the PC, and most on consoles have had that for well over a decade is it?

It isnt even about the game. Its the fact that they can get away with being so patronisingly stupid, because of people like you, who either i) dont care because it doesnt affect them, or ii) are even more moronic than the developers themselves.

Being defensive of IW before the games released does not constitute having IW's [rooster] in my mouth. IF MW2 turns out to be a pile of crap after I've played it I assure you I will be adding my voice to those condemning IW.

Field of view of 65 degrees.

I can't speak with confidence on this; do you know what COD4's default FOV was? Because I never had a problem with that.

Secondly, the fact that a developer of the game, not a community manager, not a PR guy, touted "mouse support" "chat" and "graphics settings" as FEATURES

I agree this was pretty weak. Kind of like politicians who are asked an awkward question; trying to wriggle out of it.

It doesn't affect me, and I don't care; because I don't see why the PC version should recieve special treatment. If IW made a crap port for PC then yeah, I would condemn IW for that, but what they seem to be doing is making themselves have direct control over the game. A cynical view would be that this is to make you pay for DLC, which it probably is, but remember that they will have to pay to run IW.net. Console players pay for DLC; IF Activision used IW.net to make the PC version alone have charged DLC then yes that would be very unfair. As it is they're making the versions more equal.

You payed more for a gaming PC. Thats fair enough. But should you be entitled to more from developers? Its like buying a Ferrari and then thinking you should be entitled to cheaper/better fuel at every garage. You're already paying less for the game, and for all intents and purposes its the same as on consoles. Thats a pretty good deal in my eyes.

For the argument that IW are screwing over their PC fanbase, which is where cod started; I bought COD1 and UO back in like 2003. Activision like money. They're prepared to rehash the same crap over and over for cash; Guitar hero and WaW prove that. Activision own IW, they're under they're direction ultimately. Activision can see theres more money in making cod for consoles after COD4 suddenly took off on PS3/360. Activision probably regarded making MW2 anything other than a crap PC port as a concession to IW, and I'd say that PC players should be grateful that IW at least made an equal or perhaps in some small ways better game for the PC.

If making PC games becomes unviable for Activision then it would be like complaining that MW2 isn't coming out for the PS2. I know that MW2 has the potential to be a hell of a lot better on PC due to the more powerful hardware of gaming PCs, but when it's not commercially viable for companies to devote a disproportianate amount of effort on PC versions when theres more money in consoles don't criticise them for it.

Criticise our capitalist society if you want, but thats a whole other debate.

The car, fuel analogy is a bad one. It is more like; If I buy a Ferrari and pay a suitably large amount of money for it, I expect it to have been built, and to be maintained by ferrari engineers, not some guy who has a Certificate for "auto maintainence" from the local community college.

It is not an arguement of whether or not it will be an inferior PC game. They have simply ported over the xbox version, and for the money they are asking, that is simply not acceptable. Yes, it is almost entirely the fault of activision, bobby kotick, and market trends in general, but that doesnt change the fact that everything they have done, whether or not it is the best decision business wise, is completely and utterly selling out, leaving behind a loyal fanbase for a far more fickle one. In no way should be grateful for this.

I am not forcing my decision on anybody. This is a topic for the discussion of modern warfare 2. I posted an article pertaining to the topic at hand, and voiced my opinion of it. If this happens to show the game in a negative light, then so be it.

Going with the car analogy yes you would be entitled to both recieving a better made car and customer support for it or whatever from Ferrari. Go down to the garage and ask for an MOT or something? They don't owe you anything and wont do any favours for you.

Did you buy your PC, its components, operating system or anything from Activision/IW? No. They don't owe you anything.

They have simply ported over the xbox version, and for the money they are asking, that is simply not acceptable.

When the PC version is in fact cheaper I don't see that as an argument. I'm a student, but I'm still prepared to pay full price for the game because I feel its justified because of it's content.

Say what you will about the console community, but remember that they have the spending power. Activision would probably got the same amount of money if they cut out the PC version entirely, focused more on the console versions and increased the price another £5. I meant that you should be grateful you got at least an equal version when they could have released a butchered port, a la Modern Warfare Reflex for the Wii.

If you arent going to put any effort into doing something, then you shouldnt do it at all.

also, the PC version costs $10 more than the console version, thats just a fact. You are paying more, and getting less (the same, if you want to call it that.)

I agree with Jaziek, I won't be able to play the game but those comments made by the developers don't give me much hope for the future success of a great franchise.
