1) Do you think video games affect peoples opinion on war? Yes. Some in a good way, some in a bad way.

2) If your country was attacked, would it make you join the army? It depends. Who was attacking? Why? I would be far more likely to join a rebellion during a revolution if it was something I believed in.

3) Do you think there will be a World War 3 in your lifetime? Sadly, yes.

4) What do you think you could do to prevent war? Unless I become a politician, not much, or a celebrity, not much.

5) What do you think is the major cause of wars? Human nature. I doubt there will ever be a time of complete peace, at least not one that would last.

Do you think video games affect peoples opinion on war? Maybe they affect 13 year olds, some video games glorify war. But I don't think they affect the opinions of anyone over 18, which is what matters.

If your country was attacked, would it make you join the army? No, I would not.

Do you think there will be a World War 3 in your lifetime? Maybe, it is impossible to predict.

What do you think you could do to prevent war? Nothing can prevent war, it's one of the ways humans interact. And it's good for keeping down population growth.

What do you think is the major cause of wars? The desire for peace.

1) Do you think video games affect peoples opinion on war?.

2) If your country was attacked, would it make you join the army?

3) Do you think there will be a World War 3 in your lifetime?

4) What do you think you could do to prevent war?

5) What do you think is the major cause of wars?

1) I do. Mostly in the sense that kids think war is just like the game and "first shot off wins." It's not. But it does affect their opinions, yes.

2) If there was a draft, likely yes. I'm not very qualified to do much in the military aside from intelligence. There's just as much work to be done on the homefront.

3) I don't know why everyone applies the stigma of nukes to a third World War. I think we are minutes away from it happening in a political sense. I doubt nuclear arsenals would be unleashed, however.

4) Is there really a way to stop it? The causes for war are multi-faceted. You as one person can not hope to stop it from happening. Working with others is how you do it. Which generally involves wheeling-dealing with other nations which sets up for yet another war.

5) A blend of radical nationalism, a charismatic or authoritative ruler, and sometimes mental instability in the preceding. Religion, greed, and money are not causes for war, merely excuses for the above three.

1) Do you think video games affect peoples opinion on war? Not at all. Unless they have an iq of about fifty, and think video games are what war is like.

2) If your country was attacked, would it make you join the army? Possibly, depending on who attacked it, and how high/low a chance of surviving I'd have.

3) Do you think there will be a World War 3 in your lifetime? Hopefully not, although, if there is, we're pretty screwed if people start shooting nukes.

4) What do you think you could do to prevent war? Nothing really. I guess I could Not be a racist or a terrorist and blow up other countries.

5) What do you think is the major cause of wars? Stupidity and greed. Although religion causes wars sometimes.

Possibly, war has been captured as a "fun" experience by BF2, CoD, etc.

2) If your country was attacked, would it make you join the army?

Not voluntarily, unless I could be a pilot. Being a pilot would be fun because I could use my jet to take out their helicopters, FIRE FIRE FIRE! Hopefully the controls will be as easy as on the keyboard.

3) Do you think there will be a World War 3 in your lifetime?

All you people saying Video Games only affect the weak-minded... are you serious?

So none of you have ever thought: "Hmm... I would want this, the honor and glory of fighting for good, the thrill"?

From all the shooters and adventures you've played, you've never wanted to wield a weapon and enter a dangerous conflict?

If so, you've been affected. If not, you're very dull.

You have to admit that even on the smallest of scales, something like a video-game will affect your thoughts upon the subject of war.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

1) Do you think video games affect peoples opinion on war?

Yes. I've grown up with many people who think war is an easy thing and met many people over the Internet who play war like games who feel that war is the only way to solve things.

2) If your country was attacked, would it make you join the army?

If an enemy ARMY came onto Canadian soil, perhaps. If it was a terrorist attack, no.

3) Do you think there will be a World War 3 in your lifetime?

Yes

4) What do you think you could do to prevent war?

Calm people down, and get them to think before they act.

5) What do you think is the major cause of wars?

Greed.

I have to admit, even though I HATE the aspect of war and of fighting, even I myself have wanted to go onto some sort of battlefield and fight thousands of people, kinda like those epic battles. But it's my intelligence and great hate for war and fighting that stops me ;)

1) Do you think video games affect peoples opinion on war?

They do have an effect, but when compared to anything like parents, schools or even TV and movies that effect is very small. Video games are also usually very individualistic so they aren't going to prepare anybody for war or the military. So they also have a small negative effect as I see things.

2) If your country was attacked, would it make you join the army?

Well, I'd just get sent to active duty which isn't the same thing as joining. I wouldn't have a problem with serving my country in the time of need though.

3) Do you think there will be a World War 3 in your lifetime?

As I might be alive even a hundred years from now I guess there is a possibility of a war that involves several countries from all over the world before I die. I can't see anything like that happening in the next 30 years or so as nuclear weapons, terrorism and the media will make sure that all wars are lost on some front. Something like the humankind running out of drinkable water is needed before leaders that aren't overly nationalistic/just plain bonkers are going to plunge their countries to all out 21st century warfare.

4) What do you think you could do to prevent war?

On a personal level not much. I can vote for people and parties that I think have reasonable views on how destructive war is and how well my country would be able to defend against various types of threats. I can write letters to people in power when I think they're doing a bad job. I can remind those who glorify war about the history of my nation as well as other nations who have been on the losing side of big wars. I can't, however, do anything to stop stupid people from being stupid people.

5) What do you think is the major cause of wars?

Prehistory to middle ages: Greed and religion

Middle ages to nineteenth century: Greed

19th and 20th century: Nationalism, other ideologies, previous wars

21st century: Stupidity. What is the point of dropping bombs when you know you'll be watching crying widows and dismembered children on HDTV as a result on that evening and terrorist bombing aftermaths the next day? I guess greed is a big cause to terrorism. Religion is also a big factor for terrorism, but I see it more as just a tool instead of a real cause.

I would be interested to know why so many females wouldn't be ready to join the military btw.

If I could play a virtual reality war game, then I'd gladly take that opportunity because there are simply no dire consequences. It does sound like a lot of fun. But as for real war, well... it's just too real. The thought of seeing real people die gruesomely at my side bothers me way too much. I could care less about a character on a game though.

1) Do you think video games affect peoples opinion on war?

To some extent, though not particularly.

2) If your country was attacked, would it make you join the army?

Attacked as in interests abroad attacked? Probably not, the US is always in some conflict or another. The continental US invaded? Absolutely. Should the military not be available for whatever reason I would likley start/join a militia.

3) Do you think there will be a World War 3 in your lifetime?

No.

4) What do you think you could do to prevent war?

Personally? Little. Voting for politicians that play nicely with the rest of the world would be somewhat effective, although some of the most brutal wars and genocides on the planet are not under my control.

5) What do you think is the major cause of wars?

Anything that makes people different, with the most powerful factor being religion. Humans by nature are suspicious and violent twords people that are different then them.
