I was requested to post pictures of some newborn calves when they arrive. Well, here are a couple. I suppose I will add more as they come. Enjoy.

I dont want to guess whats next to the 2nd one.

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

They look cute, I don't understand how people can eat those. :|

Maybe we should take a lesson from SouthPark and try to have Veal's name legally changed to Dead Baby Cows.

Even if it's a dumb story, telling it changes other people just the slightest little bit, just as living the story changes me. An infinitesimal change. And that infinitesimal change ripples outward-ever smaller but everlasting. I will get forgotten, but the stories will last. And so we all matter-maybe less than a lot, but always more than none.

They lose the cute-factor after about a year. I have been considering taking pictures of the next steer we butcher and putting a bunch of warnings on it if anyone would be interested to see the process. I also have a picture of a cow eating the afterbirth from today's photography. I figured it would ruin the mood that the newborn calves set, though. ::'

I know about them getting ugly, but I was talking about veal, unless I've been wrong this whole time and veal is like a year or two or less or something. :?

Veal is before they are fed grass/hay just before weaning. Although.. funny thing is that even though that is the definition, calves often eat hay & grass for months before weaning. Personally, we keep the steers we wish to butcher over the winter and feed them oats & alfalfa. I prefer a huge strip of tenderloin over some veal. The calves we do sell though (after 9 months) are technically arriving at the weaning stage, so I suppose they could be considered veal.

It is very soft. If there are ever calves that we need to bring in and dry off due to very low temperatures we end up petting them to calm them.

I have no idea why, but for some reason I thought the title meant this thread was going to be about Baby legs. :wall:

This is a useless thread :| Just post them in the pets sticky.

But they aren't pets. And I don't see a livestock thread.

I felt that one across the country!

I want to post a picture of the miniature horses we helped with years back, but I don't have any. I always forget you're on a farm/ranch (it's pretty much interchangeable here, but I've seen people get frumpy about the words' misuse).

Mmm, I miss when I was younger. Most of my friends were in farming and ranching families. We'd go out and play with the cattle. I had one friend, they were desperately poor, but they lived off of their cattle. They coulda sold them, they easily would have made enough to pay what they needed with some left over (massive herd), but they never did. Just slaughtered what they needed.

Wonder what happened to them ...

Anyways, good luck with the calves.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

So if I had a horse and it gave birth, I could post them here? Because it would make a ridiculous thread, just like this one.
