Here is a link to the article below, and personally I say let the little son of a ***** rott in jail.

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id ... _article=1

An 11-year-old boy could be tried as an adult in a US court and face a mandatory life sentence if found guilty of killing his father's pregnant fiancee, local media reported.

A judge in Lawrence County, western Pennsylvania ruled that the child, Jordan Brown, would not be tried as a minor, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Lawyers for the boy said they would file a motion to have the case moved to juvenile court, after obtaining more forensic evidence.

The paper reported that Brown sat silently with his hands and feet shackled during his preliminary hearing, before being returned to a juvenile detention center where his attorney said he was "thriving."

He is accused of last month shooting Kenzie Houk, 26, in the back of the head while she slept, killing her and her unborn child who died of oxygen deprivation. He faces two charges of criminal homicide.

Houk was nine months pregnant and had two daughters, age seven and four, who lived in the house with her, her fiance Chris Brown and his son, Jordan.

The boy allegedly covered a shotgun with a blanket and shot Houk in head while she was asleep, before running out of the house to catch the school bus. Relatives said the boy was jealous of Houk and her children.

He is scheduled for an arraignment on May 1.

Chris Brown in the news again..

..Sounds like a sociopath to me. He shoots her and then runs off for the school bus.

But he would get torn up in a real prison, so I think someone is going to reverse this and put him in juvenile. Nancy Grace is gonna be all over this. -.-

He's gonna do just fine if he manages to sneak in another shotgun.

Not enough detail in the article to make a personal opinion. It's a sad loss though.

That's absolutely horrendous!! Poor kids lost a mother, that father lost someone he loved... if this is all true I certainly believe this kid deserves a life sentence! However, I also hope they don't come to conclusions without enough evidence and end up sentencing him to something he doesn't actually deserve.

Wheres proper proof?

And why not check if his father even has a gun license?

Don't try to pin that on the father, Nancy Grace. Whether he had a gun license or not, the kid still would have shot her.

Shotguns do not require licenses, fyi.

I imagine that the proof had to be overwhelming to even bring the boy forward as a suspect.

If this kid did kill the woman then he should be sent to a juvenile detention centre and he should receive some form of psychiatric help. However, he shouldn't be tried as an adult as he is clearly a child with serious problems that need to be addressed (again that is presuming he did what he is accused of). It isn't like the boy is 16 or 17 and therefore a borderline case - this is an 11 year old child.

The issue that concerns me is how an 11 year old was able to get access to a shotgun to do this in the first place. Now I don't want to have a right to bear arms debate here but surely in a nation which allows gun ownership there should be greater measures to stop children having access to guns in their own homes.

We might fight for more rules and regulations on it, but when it comes down to it, I think that many of the people who do own guns will be too lazy/apathetic/unconcerned to really enforce the rules on themselves. Because the only time they would get in "trouble" is after the fact of something like this.

No.

This kid is nuts, I would say until he's 18 juvenile hall, after that life in adult prison. If it's not that already.

You do not have to have a license OR register the weapon to own a gun in Pennsylvania, like much of the rest of the country. Shotguns are very open in terms of laws anywhere really. Just need to be 18+ and pass the background check to buy one.

THIS. The parent should be charged AS WELL AS the kid. Just as much their fault for not locking up their guns, not teaching proper gun safety, not paying enough attention to their kids.

He won't get torn up in prison. He would be placed in protective seg until he would be able to handle himself in general pop.

No.

I would like to provide a counter-argument.

Yes.

What if he did put up the gun? What if he did teach his child not to play with them and all the general gun rules? What if he did pay enough attention? Only one of your arguments stand valid with the information provided, and that is that he may have not been paid much attention to, because of the jealousy. In regards to the quote, the only logical assumption that can be made based on the information is that he was jealous that all of his father's attention was going toward somebody else other than him.

In regards to teaching him about gun safety and whatnot- let's have an example. Say someone goes to get a gun license and is taught how to properly shoot it, carry it, handle it, and the ethics and morals involved with owning and operating a gun. They get their license and their gun, and go on their merry way. So, later, that person winds up maliciously killing someone in their sleep. Should the person who gave them their license be charged with anything? Should the killer's parents be charged with not teaching him about a gun?

But this is all subjective. The article really doesn't provide enough information to form a validated opinion. We would need to know how the child acted, thought, and was raised- among other things- to really form a good opinion.

And you do realize that they put child rapists and sex offenders in protective segregation, right? It's like throwing a piece of meat to refined vegetarian pit bulls; they still love the taste of meat.

Its all in the Parents. Not about just gun owners. Even with more regulations. I had a gun at 11, i had a few guns at age 11. A shotgun included. The difference was that my parents regulated my access to it and gave me the proper training. Point is unless the parents educate their kids on this stuff then there is no hope. A shotgun is a VERY easy gun to load and fire, and the process can be seen on movies. Without further safety training or education about guns, things like this where an 11year old just finishes watching a "gangsta" movie can go play GI Joe with dad's shotgun IRL will continue to happen. I truly believe parents are at fault more then everyone thinks these days.

That gun should of been locked up. Or at the very least in a well hidden spot, preferably high up out of reach of the kid. Thats all it boils down to. Loaded or unloaded we don't know if the kid loaded it himself or not, should of never gotten in his hands to begin with.

And the blanket. Seriously? Thats only something you see in movies. Only a kid would try to imitate this. That shows you right there he was improperly trained/educated about the weapon.

Parents need to parent.

An 11 year old is not incapable of picking or forcing a lock, finding a key, finding a hiding spot, nor pulling up a chair to reach a high-up spot.

Picking a gun safe? I doubt it. Its really not that hard to put guns where they can't be reached by 11yr olds, seriously. You just must be responsible enough to do so. I got mad as an 11yr old, but did i run and try and grab a gun? No. I knew that was a bad idea, and i couldn't get my hands on them to begin with. Its really not that hard.

We can't blame the parents for everything though. That example is like blaming the US Government for not properly teaching its gun owners to use firearms in self-defense or in hunting, then somebody kills somebody with one. But there are regulations and codes for owning a firearm, but an individual can use it incorrectly even after being taught how to use it.

Though the blanket brings up another point. If the kid has some sort of anger/rage problems in the past, I don't think it was a wise decision for the father to let him play violent or see violent movies. Though only if he has a history of rage, which we don't know.

Sometimes the parents aren't always to blame, the kid is an individual who has the choice not to obey his parents. Just because we put laws in this country doesn't mean everybody is going to follow them.

Why are there two charges?

And why cover it with a blanket? It's not like she was awake and he had to hide it. Unless he thought it would be a decent silencer?

11 year olds can't even generally grasp the concept of algebra or abstract thinking.

If you're not going to send an 11-year old into the juvenile system, there's no point in having one.

The lady sounds like a money leeching [bleep]. But I dunno, maybe I watch too many movies.

She's a leech because she married a man who had a kid from a previous marriage?
