What type of proof would I need that I did the skull sceptre one (f2p)? I mean like, how can you guys be sure I didn't just get the pieces beforehand and just attached them while wearing mithril armor?

It's called trust. Almost everything in RS is pretty to fake, trust makes the world go around.

When we get better in time, I'll probably ask people to vid them as proof. But as it stands right now, its trust. I do look at people's stats, gear and time to see if it makes sense. If you where wearing full rune, had 50s for melee stats, where holding a skull sceptre and said "lawls, i did t in 20 minitz i r ftw", it would be obviously fake. So far, no one's done something I've deemed to unrealistic.

Damnit, now I want to make a screenshot like that just for the heck of it.

I doubt I'll try any of the hardcore sections, but I might try the non-hardcore ones when I have enough room in my bank to store everything before starting.

Does anyone know what monsters are good to kill for alching drops?

In response to TheLeonardo:

Zamorak warriors in the chaos tunnels are pretty easy to kill and drop rune scimitars and rune daggers very often. You can make up to 200k in an hour from alching the drops, but with scavenged equipment the rate would be lower than that.

That's what i figured, hopefully with 99 Ranged/Defense, I should be able to make a decent profit.

Almost done with the barrows challenge, but I will have to finish in the morning. Luck plays a large part in the speed of a trip. I may have to retry this challenge because of my really bad luck getting ranarr drops.

Later today, I'll be attempting the first solo DKS. I'll most likely fail, but it's worth my try.

I'll be using Addy Armor and Enhanced Excalibur, wow... I'm going to get owned.

Wish me luck \'

btw, it's taken me about 5+ hours in Thieving, Mining/Smithing and (a lot) of Runecrafting.

Finished the barrows challenge in 3 hours, 6 minutes, and 50 seconds (3:06:50). I don't have time now, but I will post several pictures later. I was extremely unlucky getting the ranarrs for potions. It took me an hour to get 1 but only about 40 minutes to get 6 more. Eventually I got enough ranarrs and stuff to sell, so I bought all the runes i would need, and made a yew shortbow to fight Ahrim.

At barrows everything went wrong. I left Dharok early and had to fight him again. In the tunnels Karil spawned on me about 3 times. Finally I got to the chest, but I didn't have a teleport of course. While running out I got hit down to 4 hp and I only had 2 salmon left. I barely made it out alive, Unfortunately I didn't get a barrows drop.

I think I could easily cut an hour off my time if I was a little bit luckier. After refining my method slightly, I could possibly get under 2 hours. Anyways, thanks for the challenge idea. I really enjoyed it, and I may try again to beat my time soon.

Here are the pictures:

After nearly an hour of fighting I only had one ranarr, but my luck improved eventually.

[hide=Getting ranarrs]hhhw.jpg[/hide]

Finally I got enough fire runes to sell. Unfortunately I had to sell them to the rune shop instead of the Grand Exchange. I DID NOT USE THE GRAND EXCHANGE.

[hide=Walking by the GE, but not using it]hhhhi.jpg[/hide]

I got all my stuff ready and had to walk all the way to Canifis. At least I could use the boat shortcut to Barrows.

[hide=Wish I had an ectophial]hhhhh.jpg[/hide]

I had to use a yew shortbow on Ahrim, but it was pretty easy.

[hide=Ranging Ahrim]hhhhhh.jpg[/hide]

With no teleport out, I had to run through armies of skeletons with only monk robe armor and barely made it out alive. No barrows drop even after 3 hours of work.

[hide=That was a close one]hhhhhhhb.jpg[/hide]

Here is my final loot from the challenge and my first time in a bank after 3 hours of playing.

[hide=Finished]hhhhhhhh.jpg[/hide]

Thanks for the challenge!

OP, you should definitely submit this to the RSOF. This is such an epic thread. I just wish this could be kept track of ingame, worldwide.

Edit - thought the barrower cheated but nvm -.-

DISQUALIFIED!! You must - pick your own snapegrass from waterbirth, buy your own vials at shilo/ardy, NOT use the ge, buy runes from mta or mage guild, get cash from gen store/alchemy.... etc

[/hide]

First off, you have some balls changing the quote to "the cheating scumbag". I don't see anywhere saying he used the GE. He has one pic of walking by the ge, but it clearly says he had to use a shop. No where does it say he used the GE at all. Maybe you should at least ask him before you call him a scum bag and write DISQUALIFIED.

I might be wrong, but as far as I can see what he did was legit. Even if I am wrong, your an idiot for automatically assuming and calling him a scum bag about it.

the trick is to balance all of these methods to get 99 and either play real life or train another skill while farming.

DISQUALIFIED!! You must - pick your own snapegrass from waterbirth, buy your own vials at shilo/ardy, NOT use the ge, buy runes from mta or mage guild, get cash from gen store/alchemy.... etc

I pretty clearly stated that I had to use a rune shop INSTEAD of the GE. I did not use a single player or GE trade the entire time. I picked up snape grass myself, bought vials in taverly. If i had used the GE i could have done the challenge in under an hour, and i could have sold my 3k fires and 65 natures for a lot more than i really got. There is a rune shop in varrock, and if you look at the picture I am walking past the GE from the direction of Edgeville towards the direction of Varrock.

No hard feelings about the misconception. Although I clearly stated my actions, I will edit my description so that there will be no more confusion. I included the picture of the GE to show that I was not using it, and because I found it humorous that I was going to sell all my stuff for about half the price I could easily get on the Grand Exchange.

Yay someone completed another uncompleted challange. ^^ ((yes, it probly was a little dumb to post a pic of being at the GE, you where almost asking for what happened.))

I'm taking part in a slayer race ((me 92-99, friend from 62?-85)), so I probably won't be trying for any of the bigger challenges anytime soon. I'll still take a whack at them when I need a break though. (I have an idea of using bolt spells for the barrows run, getting runes from paladins, but I want to get my thieving up past the 80s first)

I'll update the scores in a sec.

I'll be doing the Lesser Demon F2P Hardcore in a minute. Shouldn't take long.

*edit* Scratch that.. I got to the Lessers outside the KBD entrance before I realized that those Lessers are inside the gates.. on members' worlds! Haha silly me. Couldn't do Lesser Challenge.

So I went to Greater Demons. All the way on the other side of the wilderness. End time was 20:15

However, looking back through the pictures (specifically at my cooking level), I think this run may not count- because I used fires some person happened to be lighting. Now it doesn't say this is exclusively against the rules, but it's not really fair so this run can be discredited if need be. Besides, there are many things I can improve on run 2.

I'd like to try the Barrows run.. I think that would be pretty fun. And also smobo you said you "had leftovers from making ppots" which you used to make the pots. Isn't that against your own rules? :-# Ha I assume that was made before the rules were changed or something.

I was gathering supplies to make ppots. I just so happened to get an avantoe and an extra snape grass.

Soloing the GWD bosses is gonna take forever if you can't use the GE - besides, if it's money we make from scratch, why can't we use that to buy supplies on the GE? (sorry if this has been answered, only read first post)

Once I'm a member again I'll definitely solo Commander Zilyana from scratch with or without the GE, just curious as to why that's a rule tho.

May the presents of our lord and savior, Santa, be with you this holiday season!
