Stuff you could NEVER get into

I would never get into Rap, i don't like the beat to it and all it is about now is Guns, Cars and girls..

Actually it's about drugs, sex and money.

Yup, it's a complete sell-out. I think if you have nothing new to contribute to the music industry, then GFTO. That's the only time I ever used that phrase but I think it was very appropriate here.

Yeah, because we all know you really tried crack, but it just wasn't you. I mean, damn you're looking cool know. Turned down crack. Admitted it on an internet forum. Wow, man, I worship you.

By the way Dusty668, was there something you were trying to achieve by telling us that ?

Lol what crawled up your [wagon] and died?

Yeah, way to bring it back up after it's died down.

PM me if you really want to start an argument.

Goddamnit, I hate these people.

If you're going to bash someone on a public thread, at least don't try and weasel out of your just desserts once it all goes south on you by saying to take it to PM.

If you wanted it to be in PM in the first place you wouldn't have posted here you dolt.

I haven't bothered to look at this thread in a week so I don't know what "died down", but Adrenal, you're a tool.

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

What ?!

I'm confused. If you prefer talking to me on a public thread, then by all means. I was only considering a PM as it would deviate less from what the thread intended.

Explain to me how you came to that conclusion.

Maybe I'm not the one confused here. You are very selective in the way you read things.

Thanks. ::'

No matter what though, Rebdragon, I will always love you.

What makes me rage even more is that they have their "crews" that stand in the background doing nothing. Is it really necessary to have a bunch of guys stand in the background trying to look cool? :|

Do people not realize most of todays music sucks. Including rap and rock.

Everybody bashes crappy rap even though we got [cabbage]ty rock bands like Nickelback and Saving Abel.

Its like people try and ignore the talentless rock and just bash rap.

But yes, I will agree, "mainstream" rap blows.

Perhaps you missed the point of my post [or maybe you failed to see one]. Either way, please reply - either by way of PM or on this thread - on what you think I was trying to say. We'll take it from there.

I don't want to anymore OT, so please PM me.

Re: Stuff you could NEVER get into:

small shoes or black women

Me neither man. The sisters have wayyy to much tude' for me  Do yourself a favor and get a white girl. You won't even have to buy her anything ;)

I'd have to say country, nickelback, highschool musical, nut huggers.

As for everybody saying "rap, hip hop, gangsta" I'm afraid I can't agree with you. Rap is like any other genre, its got its good, meaningful moments and it has moments that can only be described as "soulja boy". If you can't find at least one song you like, well, you probably haven't done much looking.

As for "gangsta" If someone's a poser then fine, but a lot of people are grew up in an environment where they have to act a certain way in order to survive.

A REPLACEMENT?

Ok picture this, they replace your yew and magic trees with a tree that if you attempt to cut it alone your axe breaks, if you cut it with a group as soon as you get a log you get a skull on your head, all the other woodcutters attack you and you cant log out for 3 minutes.

Bounty hunter and tournaments were not a replacement, they are garbage.

Don't get me wrong, I hate that type of rock probably even more than rap. They take something that was good and turn it into crap... at least rap was always crap. However, there are some rap songs that I do like - and those are usually the ones that sing/rap about subjects that are more meaningful than the generic drugs, sex, and money routine. It's just that those songs are few and far between when compared to rock (which is still technically few and far between but not nearly as bad as rap). I despise glam rock.

I understand that but do they have to brag about it in every song? :|

Here we go with the stereotyping of all rap again...
Indeed.

If you don't know your [cabbage] about music, take a hint and shut the [bleep] up.

As for me, I never really got into that whole pop-punk phase that swallowed up all of my friends. Didn't really see the point in dressing like Billie Joe.

Wait... so I don't know [cabbage] about music?

TIF memes. They're just a way of trying to tell ourselves that we're important and/or funny.

We have memes? :?

Glass eating, Viking porn, Zombie invasions?

Could be wrong

Don't forget Lenin love. Nothing against Lenin - it's his fans that always have to kill the jokes, which gives me the feeling that he's probably the most annoyed by it out of all of us.

Yeah "Tiffers" jokes suck. :twss:

Damn, no need to go so hard.

Quite honestly, I feel that a lot of people in this forum are intimidated by rap because the race/ demographic of the artist simply doesn't line up with their own. When this happens, someone will hear the foul noises of Soulja Boy emanating from the radio of a passing car ,then claim to have heard "hip hop" and may even assert that hip hop is all about [garden tools] n' dope money.

I don't think race has much to do with it at all. There are black rock musicians and I appreciate them just as much as any other white musician. Oh and Soulja Boy isn't the only rap I ever heard, so don't attempt to say I just don't understand it because "I haven't heard enough of it".

If it's any consolation I'm black and I can't stand Soulja Boy.

Also people need to learn the difference between rap, hip hop, and R&B. Soulja Boy is not a rapper, he's a hip hop artist. Eminem, however, is a rapper. GET IT RIGHT.

Some rap is good... Just the radio, MTV and other programs bash the [cabbage] stuff at everyone, and nobody feels like searching for some good intelligent stuff, Immortal Technique being one.

Same with any other type of music, it's just other people not caring or lazy enough to not put in an effort when it comes to music, so they feel unique when they listen to the radio for music...

If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Here are some of my favorite rap/ hip hop songs. I picked these because I feel that they are exemplary in their expressiveness (a few of them just have a cool beat).

Under the Hood- Specifics

Luv Sic- by shing02

Say What's Real- Jake

And he gets the girl- Lupe Fiasco

Hip hop/ rap/whatever the hell you want to call it is(are) like any other genre(s) you just have to look beyond the superficial crap.

A REPLACEMENT?

Musically, I don't like it that much, but lyrically it's good. The Lupe Fiasco song made me laugh. :P

Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. You want everything that's--falls off garbage can

Camera guy: Whoa, haha, are you okay dude?

Matt: You want anything funny that happens, don't you?

Camera guy: still laughing

Matt: You want the funny shit that happens here and there, you think it comes out of your [bleep]ing [wagon] pushes garbage can down, don't you? You think it's funny? It comes out of here! running towards Camera guy

Camera guy: runs away still laughing

Matt: You think the funny comes out of your mother[bleep]ing creativity? Comes out of Satan, mother[bleep]er! nn--ngh! pushes Camera guy down

Camera guy: Hoooholy [bleep]!

Matt: FUNNY ISN'T REAL! FUNNY ISN'T REAL!
