Yes. Another attempt made by me to make someone laugh. I can hear your sounds of mirth over the internet.

I could never get into the mindset that by rejecting things that my peers liked, I could become cool. I'm seeing a lot of it in this thread. Also, people who say things like "rap sucks" and "getting high is stupid" when they haven't experienced any rap besides current mainstream, and theyve only tried weed.

On a less critical note, movies. I like them, but I don't really feel it's worth going to theaters or paying money for them.

I cant fit extrasmall gloves on my hand, I tried.

Seriously though: musicians. I don't get the whole "he plays a guitar, he's so cool/hot" thing. Every other guy and girl I know love musicians. I have never been to a concert and have zero desire to. I enjoy music, but I really don't care about the musicians themselves. I'm also not a fan of crossword puzzles.

Conformist Anti-American Culture (obesity is a sign of prosperity you jealous [bleep])?

I hate conforming all together, especially if it is a state/government run conformism, such as a dictatorship or a police-state. Which is why I'd much rather die than have the government controlling everything and not being able to say that I don't love our 'glorious leader who keeps us safe.'

Star Wars - I just don't get the appeal, sorry. The films mercilessly rip off both Japanese films and numerous westerns transpose them into a sci fi universe in what can only be described as some of the most dull films I've ever seen.

Lord of the Rings (films) - Again I don't get the appeal, sure they look brilliant (that is undeniable) but they are so overblown. Each of them is about 3 hours long (not a problem if done well) and consist of very little, they just seem so badly paced. The argument I always have over this film (& other adaptions) is that the film is faithful to its source material however, that is irrelevant - a film has to survive on its own merits in my opinion and you need to adapt to the different medium. A film can't sustain the pace and the intricate plotting of a 400+ page novel and still be decent. Oh, I know I'll be the minority of one this lol.

People who go out of their way to be a non-conformist. The irony is that most of these people actually conform to their own little groups (Goths and Emo kids are the worst for this).

-----------

- Soccer. I can't even describe this. All they do is run around for 90 minutes and most of the scores are 1-0 or 2-1.

I don't get why people make that criticism of football (mainly Americans ;) ). Are your attention spans so low that you need a score every few seconds to maintain your interest in a sport? I'd take a decent game of football over anything that basketball, baseball, hockey or American football has to offer.

Not the reaction I expected, for some reason there's a lot of hating on this. But just look it up on youtube, there's some pretty good tutorials.

Harry potter, I've never really seen the appeal.

Anime/manga, any japanese fad, whatever you want to call it, its just cartoons, with strange OTT unrealistic violence or cuddly creatures, its boring.

Over the top sport loving, i'm fine with watching a few games every now-and again when its on tv, i'll know the name of a few players on a football pitch, but thats the limit, i don't get how some people (including a few friends of mine) seem to know about every match of every sport that goes on in the world, every player of every sport in every match around the world, how do they get the time!?

People who think football is ALL skill. Seriously, a player scores from miles out when they belt the ball, and it gets called skill? its blind luck, they try it tons of times each match and score one time and its skill? They can't replicate it, it isn't skill, granted getting hold of the ball in that situation is the skill, but having a lucky shot is not skill.

I didn't either, but I was convinced to read the books by a friend and read the first 6 in a couple of weeks of reading before bed. The 7th took a couple of days. I still don't see why people are obsessed with it, but I can say I liked it.

I think I'm safe to say that one thing I could NEVER get into is the Twilight series. I mean I don't shiver when I think about it, I'm just never going to read it, or attempt to read it. The concept of it is ridiculous (no offense meant to all the Twilight fans out there, sorry! :P)

Also, to unspam; I laugh at all the people that try so hard to not conform they conform by trying not to. I mean, really. Just try to be what ever you have to.

Also, the Pokémon and Final Fantasy series. Abysmal storylines coupled with random encounters, hurrhh. I honestly don't understand how they've become so successful, other than that they're JRPGs.

You're not paying for the clothing, you're paying for the label.

Deio has a point, I've had the same T-Shirts for 2 years now, they were about 3 for £10. The design has faded, but they are still functional.

I buy my jeans for about £6-8 each. They last a few months, then I need a new pair, normally.

Please, tell me why I should pay up to £100 on a pair of jeans, just because of a label, that won't last for 10* the amount of time my current ones do.

I guess you're shopping at the wrong stores? I know quite a few that I've purchased and they've lasted years. Mainly J. Crew, Northface and Banana Republic.
