ember3579
There are two reasons and two reasons only for not nuking NK off the map. 1. Civilians. 2. Nuclear fallout would negatively affect China and Russia, and most of all our nearly-ally SK. 3. What would be the consecuences (sp?) nuking Japan ended the WWII and created the ONU what would nuke NK would make? Well, it's like this. You know Hiroshima and Nagasaki? The two spots where nukes were dropped on Japan in World War 2, over half a century ago? It's still toxic to go anywhere near there outside of full hazmat setup. Mix that with nuclear fallout (dust from the explosion is irradiated, spread WAY the [bleep] out thanks to winds), and you could turn the region into a wasteland if you drop anything. That, my friend, is why they're f@$%ing called "Weapons of Mass Destruction": they annihilate everything in the entire area and make it uninhabitable for a very long time. Dexek
North Korea has launched a series of missiles off its eastern coast, following similar tests earlier in the week, according to South Korea's Defence Ministry. Pyongyang fired seven ballistic missiles over several hours Saturday, the Yonhap news agency said, quoting military officials. The South Korean agency said it appears the North fired a type of short-range Scud missile. But Yonhap also said it is possible they could have been longer-range Rodong missiles. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missiles are believed to have flown more than 400 kilometres. "Our military is fully ready to counter any North Korean threats and provocations based on strong South Korea-U.S. combined defence posture," the Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement. North Korea is not allowed to fire Scuds, medium-range missiles or long-range missiles. They are banned under UN Resolution 1874, passed after North Korea's May 25 underground nuclear test, prohibiting any launch using ballistic missile technology. On Thursday, North Korea fired four short-range missiles. Those launches did not violate the resolution as they were cruise missiles rather than ballistic, according to South Korea's Foreign Ministry. Ballistic missiles are guided during their ascent out of the atmosphere but fall freely when they descend. Cruise missiles fly low and straight to their target. Three years ago on July 4, North Korea launched a long-range Taepodong-2 multi-stage ballistic missile and six smaller missiles in defiance of a UN resolution. http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2009/07/04/north-korea-missile-test.html PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
Dizzle229
Gah. Move your landmass China and SK, that nuke option is becoming more and more attractive. archimage_a
Was just going to post my earlier arguement but I will add a responce to... the US is the bad parent standing on the side saying "I'm gonna do it... really. I mean it this time. Annny time now." No...The USA is a neighbour spying on the children playing next door and is willing to use a shotgun to stop Jimmy from pulling Jessie's hair. South Korea is hardly defenceless...Its not like say, Colonists, using rifles against Natives with bows and clubs. Its more like two school boys squaring up to each other: One who is a teacher pet who is calling for help and the other who is the whipping boy who is trying to defend themselves in a hostile world with no allies. Put yourself in their position(Idealogies reversed) 'Your country is the last one with true democracy, all the others have farcial elections or are one party communist states. The other countries have weapons of mass destruction and in the past they have invaded your country and destroyed parts of it, just because you tried to export you tried to topple an unlawful government set up by your corrupt kinsmen. You have a choice of abandoning democracy or arming yourself in self defence, since your past allies now don't want to know you. What do you do?' Its not really our concern. North Korea is entitled to do whatever it is capable of doing. They know that an invasion of South Korea would effectively be sucidal, so why are we concerned? Either nothing will happen or the USA has an excuse to destroy another communist nation at the expense of a couple of thousand lives. Which they showed they were more than willing to do with Vietnam. A nuclear or even conventional attack anywhere else would be futile, what with the anti-missile capabilities of the USA, Europe, Russia, China...India. I hardly think any country would retaliate with nuclear force...nor do I think that it would start a nuclear war http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
