J35u5_M4
I don't have a problem with people getting these drops, but at least they have to be good at it, I mean if a noob goes solo sara and has no clue what to do and gets a hilt I'd be mad, but if someone like me who, even though it was 2nd trip, knew exactly what to do and was a semi pro at it, I wouldn't be mad. I just hate how people that have 0 experience and mess up a lot get the drops, yet the ones that are experienced get nothing...
Mazhar
Luck always manages to balance itself out for me... I got 2 dragon claws drops in my first 21 kills but didn't get my third until around 500 kills later. :?
Blutters
I seem to have unnaturally bad luck now, but my luck wasn't horrible a few years ago. I could usually expect at least one Barrows item every 20 openings (duo- and team- farming!) and I got special Gnome Delivery rewards with frequency. I sometimes wonder if I'm being punished... -.- I probably am for not merchanting, PK'ing, staking, PC'ing, or getting blackmarks. And for selling Guthan's Platebody for 2.5m when it was worth 12.5m+... Luck isn't balanced if someone consecutively gets good drops while someone else doesn't. That's almost like saying that if I steal from someone, it's balanced, because even though that person no longer has the item I stole, I have it... Luck always manages to balance itself out for me... I got 2 dragon claws drops in my first 21 kills but didn't get my third until around 500 kills later. :? Your 50-80m in 500 kills > my 1.5m (ruined piece split) in 500 kills :|
LegsOSkill
This game is based on strategy and luck alone. Nothing more, nothing less. The 'luck' is getting that rare drop, it's not that you were able to kill said monster faster, and therefore you got the expensive drop, it was sheer luck; no matter what you say. By strategy I mean that this game does take a rather large amount of 'street smarts' and knowing how things work. Especially with the RuneScape economy; but it's not all focused on money, it can be geared toward monster hunting, knowing what gear, how much to bring, how long you will last and the best tactic is a well laid out strategy. That's all this game is, no matter how far in you think or how well you can read between the lines. aznmidget448
I'm kind of hoping for some luck money right about now. Pretty much every clue scroll and monster kills, I'm hoping that I'll get that rare drop which will make me instantly rich. But I know that won't happen... Still, it's nice getting my hopes up. When I was cooking the other day, some level 78 or lower came in and said he got a visage on his 6th iron dragon. He was killing them for fun.... I killed a bunch more and all I got was a pair of d legs :( And vthis is why I'm going back to woodcutting :)

kubert7
What do you guys think about so called "Luck Monkey"? Example: A level 61 ranger feels up to the challenge of killing a single black dragon, in doing so they recieve a draconic visage as a drop. Said ranger then sells this visage and becomes instantly rich(er). Not an Example: A level 61 rangers hates black dragons with a passion and decides to slay all of the ones in Runescape for killing them at a lower level. After about 1k kills said player recieves a Draconic Visage. The player then sells this visage to buy better bolts to fuel their passion for dragon hunting. I think that the second ranger was having more fun.

warren211
I pool in loads of luck money from slayer. That's where I'd say 80% of my bank worth comes from: slayer, and the clue scrolls I get from slayer. A few days ago I got ranger boots (8.5m sold) from a level 2 clue, then I got a sara plate from a level 3 on the same day, then a whip drop on the same day. A few days before this epic luck I got a range ammy and then a sara dhide top from clue the day after. That particular week was one of the luckiest in my career and gave me enough money to buy bandos armor (although now I must wait for bandos to crash). I like the luck factor in the game. It actually makes slayer a random moneymaking skill rather than other stable moneymaker skills to be the end-all for money pooling. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. BlueLancer
"Luck money" is how a lot of people in various MMORPG's get rich. Maybe even the majority in certain games. It just takes a few valuable drops, even just one, from a dangerous monster, and you just skipped hundreds/thousands of hours of grinding tedious skills to earn the same amount of money you get from that item. It's not "fair" if that's what you ponder but it will always exist, in real life as well.
lagatag
Any rare item drop is luck imo. Even if they grind to kill a monster, in the end its still luck to get a rare drop, whereas they can be making money in a non luck based way with guaranteed drops off certain monsters such as dragon bones/hides or real common drops that have some value, or by grinding another skill by cutting yews or mining coal or fishing lobs. Yeah, I guess it is more lucky to get a drop from a monster after 1-2 kills than grinding for about 3 hours to get it, but in the end it is still rare :P
JoeDaStudd
Luck drops help be rebound like crazy. Normally I just spend a lot of time doing random things (a few hours of slayer, maybe some farming or green dragons) and a "luck" drop will allow me to speed train a skill or by a much needed item. A series of bandos split allowed me to buy a bgs and a few other niceties (they where all drop within about 10 kills). A lucky veracs helm on my 2nd barrows run in ages allowed me to burst to near 79 summoning. A lucky treasure trail drop got me a fury and a z spear. Been pretty unlucky since though. Michaael
Well, if we have any 90+ slayers in this thread, look at this: That's not all though, 2 tasks ago I got a bow. 3 Bows in one day = incredible luck \ (I wear ring of wealth for the record) On the downside, it will be a good 30+ tasks before my next bow I'm betting 5,693rd to 99 Slayer on 10/08/2009
