Xensure
Drum, are you sure slayer wouldn't cover the cost to train prayer? Even if not, by the time you got 200m exp in it, you would have at least made a major dent in that figure. Maybe adding in one or two slower but better money tasks into the training. Power slaying with a cannon and doing abby tasks only nets around +5 to +10 gp/xp. so getting 200m would only get him around 1.5b. He also won't have the use of overloads which will slow down slayer meaning he will need more Cballs than those who trained herblore first. If you get rid of Abby tasks his profit will go down to almost 0. He would have an advantage since he doesn't need to worry about charms he could design his task list around profit/xp. doing Bone crusher the whole way will save him around 10m prayer xp (quoting Aasiwat for that figure.) But he has already said that he doesn't want to so slayer. So he is pretty much left with merching, staking, or getting all of own frost bones; maybe nex if he got a good perm team, Torva is going for around 4b for the set on the forums. As for staking. I doubt drum has done much of it in the past and it is not all luck like people are saying. Most of the "Pro" stakers from 3 years ago and before had done thousands of stakes. They all have also been cleaned several times on their way to making billions. This gives them knowledge. After that many stakes they have an advantage. They know every trick there is. These are what you need to know to win max stat stakes (pures are a different story.) If He were to start now there would be a learning curve and he would get cleaned before he makes billions. But if you know what you are doing and you have a little luck, you can easily quadruple your bank in a day.
Zarfnot
Slightly off topic but regarding Drum and money making, I honestly dont get phats atm. They seem pretty inflated to me so i was expecting a constant rise and fall every day. But it seems they are only going one way, up. I tried to invest and obviously didnt realise how high they would go, missing out on potential profit. So maybe when the hoarders realise that they can dump their phats then rebuy for much cheaper, it might be wise to flip/short term invest in them Drumgun. They can raise rediculous amounts every day so with a bit of luck the profit if yours. Just an idea. Jon x
Thai_tong
I saw someone at zmi paying 100k/run for runners. After a bit of trial and error we figured it was better to trade 13 runes twice instead of him putting up runes. His inventory had 14 runes+cash pile but if you had trusted runners who didn't need to be payed each trip then you could get traded 13 and 14 runes (runners need bank runes). He payed 7mil for 30k xp lol

Jebrim
None of those methods would come near earning 6b I'm afraid :s , but ty for trying to help hehe :)Why not just camp at Frosts and get the bones yourself? That way no matter how high the price goes, you'd still be able to get 200m prayer. Suomi's been thinking about doing that himself for awhile. xpx
The problem with staking is that it's basically all luck. The problem with pking is that it gives no xp and has no guarantees. Merchanting is still easily the best moneymaker, and, make no mistake, even the best of stakers can't reach the mountains of cash merchants have.Lol really? Stakers back in the day were very rich if not the richest.. you might forget that this element of the game has been gone for 3years so of course stakers cant be that rich right now. Give them some time and you will see the big stakers back in business with more money then anyone. Can you make 1b, max cash, party hat set in a matter of a minute merchanting? You are clearly someone who only sees the hype. The difference is, stakers used to always gloat about their profits and banks, and as they lose nearly as much as they win, there is alot of picture material to show, even though it doesn't even equate to profit(you could get a good set of big stake wins while getting cleaned at the arena). Merchants are actually smart and make their money more methodically and never really lose any money they make, thus, from an outsiders view, stakers might seem richer, but in reality, there are many serious merchants around sporting a triple digit billion bank that most people don't even know about. For your oldschool analogy, i'd never seen any staker nearly as rich as duke freedom, even cursed you didn't get close. First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.First to 3766 Port Score on 20. xpx
Talk about oldschool... Cursed you and duke Freedom... 2 high profile cheaters. When you have too much money, it's not hard to see why people would turn to real world trading, and with the relative ease of it, why not? Making 30k dollars just off playing the game is nothing to shy away from. Another thing is, both of those guys made their money legitimately and were at the top of their respectful methods(staking and merchanting). First to 99 Farming on 27. langer
@ Xpx I don't deny they became legends for the right reasons. But ultimately they ended up fueling what caused the first Jagex crisis. Not a good choice of role models from my point of view. Kinda off-topic, but I still don't understand who and why would someone buy GPs. Rich kids? Professional adults? I mean I make a good living with my job and I don't get how someone would use hard earned cash to "invest" in a game. I'm genuinely curious as to who is the common GP buyer. Anyone? @ Yayosiris They sold GPs. Anyone? They weren't really represented as role models, and i'm in no way for rwting, but they are great examples of the merchant vs. staker discussion. As for people who buy gp, i believe even some skillers going for 200m skills could do it, but mostly it's either smaller distributors or adolescent children trying to boost their confidence. I know of a guy who bought gp recently because he got hacked for his whole bank, so there can be any number of reasons. I also think that it used to be a great move by jagex to ban people who bought gp instead of those who sell, unless they were real big names such as those two examples. I'm interested to find out what their strategy against rwt will be now, as they practically stopped caring about it for 3 years(because of the 'oh rwt couldn't exist' joke). Thingamajig
I don't know for which things bone crusher works, but is it legitimate to get prayer xp/money by cannoning baby blue dragons (and letting the bone crusher do its thing), picking up the blue dragon scales simultaneously and using yak special to bank? Also, some people leave their blue d'hide and even dragon bones on ground so you can snatch these. This all assumes baby blue drags bones are bone crusher-able.
