I am currently 96/99 Construction. I will replace my current thrones with demonic thrones and add 3 steel dragons and a hellhound in my dungeon (opposite side of corridor in dungeon).

Your house is very nice  . It just looks unorganized, like mine; I never got a chance to "plan out" my house layout. I've only ever added rooms from my first entrance portal when Con came out :? .

When I was playing RuneScape, my house was my pride and joy. I was addicted to both construction and houses since they came out and to see my house reach its (almost full) potential was a great feeling :) I did get everything top of the line (including a Demonic Throne :o), but not to show off, as you put it. I did it for me :) Because construction/POH were my passion on RuneScape so that was what I wanted to spend my money on :P

My house is a bit of a jumble, but it looks like a real house. Not an overly efficient training center. I don't train any skills there other than construction so it doesn't bother me.

well I spent only few mills on it (way lower than 5m for sure) and I've still got:

[hide=usefull things in my house]-altar to recharge prayer

-summoning obelisk to recharge summoning

-10 pets saving bank space, making house more friendly, and 3 god birds available FTW

-telescope I use everyday to hunt stars by myself

-costume room for saving LOADS of bankspace

-portals for free teles: lumbridge, varrock, fally, cammy, ardy and canifs

-workshop for cheap barrows fixing

-loads of handy tools I can quick pick when quest reqs it, at least till I got the best questbox from MA :?

-places to make both teleport tabs to obtain them cheaper, and enchant tabs to make bones to peaches and make neat profit when bored (yes, I unlocked that spell first)

-butler is quite usefull also ::'[/hide]

about fun, I haven't done anything "for fun" in my POH yet, all for having things I'm doing daily at gielinor easier, but now that I'm high lvl player with enought cash to spare, I am thinking on possibility to start using cash on my house....hmmm....

I find my house very useful; alter right by the portal, glory teleport a room away and my dungeon is close too (for a quick death if low on hp).

I'm glad I had the forethought to plan it in a way that would help me to train.

It's also nice to have a good construction level and a fairly decent house when you want to have a party.

My house used to have quite alot of expensive useless things in there but it caused longer loading times for Prayer so I just ripped everything out except for the essentials. Altar, teleports, repair stand.. which is all I need. Its useful for me :)

When I started my POH, I intended to make it look like a large mansion-type house, with bedrooms upstairs, kitchen & workshops downstairs.

I like the way it looks - but it is hella impractical. For instance, somehow my study & telescope ended up in an upstairs room, as did my teleportation portal. There is much I would change if I had it all to do over again.

One day, I hope to redo much of it. I want a Roman style layout, with a central grassy forum surrounded by a ring of rooms. But I will spend a lot of time drawing this house out on graph paper before I commit any money to the project. Last time, I was winging it and it shows. :?

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

POH's are my favorite aspect of RuneScape. Unfortunately there is still so much untapped potential.

All my necessities are on the ground floor. The dungeon is where the fun is, consisting of a well-thought out layout and a treasure chest you WILL not reach without dying at least once. Once I get 90 con it's steel dragon time. \'

I need to redesign my ground floor, however. :s I'm looking upwards to 7-10m, at least. For someone who's never had over 40m in cash, that's not an easy investment. :-# Additionally, there are still more con updates to come according to Jagex twitter, so I'm afraid to destroy rooms only for them to release a new feature allowing us to move around rooms without destroying them.

Until Menagerie etc update I had some rooms I actually never used etc. Then destroyed all and built rooms I actually use my house for. Includes altar, costume room, quest hall and a dungeon for training construction on doors. I don't really see point in wasting money on things that just make your house beautiful, rather spend it on skills.

When I first made my house, it was a complete mess. Then, once I got 70 construction, I redid it so that I had a gilded alter, a study, 2 portal rooms, and a throne room on the main level, nothing else. Then everything else went downstairs.

If I come back and have a good amount of munies, I'll probably re-make it again so that I can have a summoning obelisk close by.

My house was very practical until I'd finished with leveling because I'm almost always on lunar and I'm always using the portals - the load time of a larger house was a problem. But, now I'm not in a such a hurry I have lots of nice things in a much bigger house and, just a few weeks after I redid the house the menagerie update came out and my house loads fast again. :)

My POH is not actually a house. It's really a temple to Zamorak.

I use it to worship my RS god of choice. Often, I wear my Zamorak vestments and sacrifice on his altar the bones of my enemies. I also sometimes invite other people to join me.

Yeah, I roleplay in my POH. Sue me.

I value my POH very high, which is seen in how much I have invested in it. I'm construction level 70 and all the items in my many rooms in my house are the best items I can make with my level.

As of now, at level 80 construction, I've invested close to 32M in my house. The layout I have divides the house grounds into 4 "wings".

North wing is the "living quarters". Only entrance leads to the study, which then leads to a bedroom, dining room, costume room, a kitchen and a second bedroom. Every room in that wing is maxed, except the cape rack in costume room, which is marble.

West wing is basically a throne room, surrounded by 3 gardens of magic trees. One garden holds a dungeon entrance. The throne I've placed is the most basic one, just to act as a placeholder for when I have the required level to add a crystal or a demonic throne there.

East wing is the chapel. Dedicated to the god Saradomin, it has a gilded altar, marble burners and the rest. A glory teleport is neatly closeby, as are stairs to the 1st skill hall upstairs (only room on the 2nd floor in my house, kind of acts as a chapel tower)

South wing holds 2 portal rooms and a 2nd skill hall. All portal rooms are maxed, marble, scrying pool, the works.

The entrance portal is at the very center of the POH. In each direction, there's a formal garden, with either a posh or large fountain. Except the north, where there's a polar menagerie.

In the far northwest corner is the workshop, or as I call it, shed. I never use it anyway, so it serves mostly an aesthetic purpose.

Dungeon is pretty simple at the moment. Just an oubliette, with a bone cage and flame pit. A combat room, a third skill hall with stairs leading up and a dungeon junction to train construction in.

The 3 skill halls will eventually hold all 3 types of fishing trophies, also basilisk, kurask and abyssal heads (or kbd instead of kurask). Currently the only trophy I have is a sarcastic basilisk. ::'

POH design is something really awesome in this game. Once you have your preferred layout, you will absolutely adore your home and will not hesitate to show it to the world. I didn't care one second about the cost. I just did it, being careful as to not screw it up.

I love my house <3:

I would like to have a really nice house other people can enter and enjoy, but ala$, I don't have enough money. Regardless, whenever I feel like updating my house I generally try to make it both look nice and have all kinds of stuff in it, both useful and trinkets.

within the month of august i went from 50 construction to 70. i never valued my house before now il admit. but since i have a gilded alter i cant even start to tell you how much i value it, my prayer lvl has suffered for far too long.

i also remodeled my house and im very pleased with it, i find myself using it more and more. if i had to put a rs cash value on my house, id easily put it in the 10m category.

i love my house

some may not call it very functional but it serves my purposes

and yes i do like to spend money on it, over the past couple months i have spent easily 20 mil on my house (i have very little left btw- i love con enough to spend all my cash on it)

and 4 gilded altars and 6 marble portals will do that to a person ( dont ask why just go with it)

also a few weeks ago i redisgned my house so now it is a figure 8 type thing, it used to keep my butler trapped in the northern part of my house but with my menagerie that kinda changed oh well i still love it <3:<3:

Well, last night I decided to take a slayer break and work on my house design.

I started by crudely drawing my current house in pencil on graph paper, with each room as a 4x4 square block. I then took an ink pen and marked the rooms that wouldn't have to be moved (3 of them, out of the 22). The chapel, workshop & parlor all survived from the ground floor. Everything else ended up moving.

I then went upstairs and started removing rooms and removing quest hall trophies. Once I got to the costume room, I went back downstairs and went to the place it would be in the new plan. Being able to move that room with one click was a big time saver. I then went back upstairs and removed the last room.

I ended up with a ring shaped plan - 6 rooms across & 5 rooms down. This left a large grassy area in the center, where I located the exit portal and my 1 room dungeon (purely for building oak doors). My uncompleted menagerie provides a gap in the ring. There are three empty placeholder rooms on the right side of the loop that can be replaced with anything new Jagex develops in the future. I've used 21 of my 25 rooms.

I use my house a lot as a transportation nexus - I teleport home to use free glory transports or portal to Canafis. This redesign will help streamline star chasing & bone offering. I don't have a throne room or any of that ego stuff. My house is useful and helps me pursue goals in the game. I value it greatly and can't imagine how I would ever do without it.

Now if they can just give us a spa room and let us smuggle Oo'glog water into it...
