It really disgusts me how little Disney works so little now. The majority of it's revenue comes from the companies they bought and Hannah Montana stuff. Being the world's most renowned animation company, you would expect more quality 100% Disney movies coming out...but I can't even name 1 this decade...

It's not gonna catch on. They, or somebody else, tried that a few years back, yet... it's something neeeeeeeeeew!

It will be interesting to see how Disney uses its new characters. I think they'll be fine.

I'm of two opinions really.

 

 

 

I think it could be like Pixar. Afaik, Pixar deal with most of the actual film making ect and Disney do most of the promotion and distribution. If something like that were to happen and Marvel continued to make as they still do then I don't think there would be a major difference.

 

 

 

Or it could turn disasterously wrong and you'll have Spiderman going to watch a Jonas Brothers Concert, IN 3D! They might just end up milking all the creativity from Marvel so they don't have to come up with anything for themselves.

It's a period piece, I suppose you of had to of been able to wipe your [wagon] in the 80's to understand the music choices. No one i've spoken to growing up in the 80s or beyond thought the music was horrible - mostly people who were born in the 90s - dont know your age though.

Born in 89. The music was great, just not fitting I found. Individually the songs were good, but I thought the soundtrack was too all over the place.

Ya. That reminds me. There are Marvel rides in Universal Studios. Anyone know what's going to happen to them? Are they Disney's property now?

I don't think this move will affect the content which marvel produces, I guess marvel was in a sticky financial situation, disney has the security that another company probably wouldn't.

Quality not quantity.

Can't argue about quality, but in terms of popularity and finances Marvel is anything but dead in the film department. They are probably the single post profitable entertainment brand that can easily triple or better any investment the producers put in a movie project, every single time.

 

 

 

Very few people are probably interested, but thought to note from a day-trading perspective, that Marvel has been a goldmine stockwise for ~9 months and has good long term prospects, just as DC Comics to a lesser extent (time warner's stock). It's a very successful company, it's definitely not going to die despite Disney.

On the note of the marvel rides at universial, nickelodeon now has fantastic 4, iron man and X-men shows, what would come of them (the only good one of them is the x-men one incase you want to check them out, but thats imo)?
