What is your ping like?

Featured Replies

Hello. Well the new ping feature on the world select page is working now, at least it does for me. With what it shows however, it would seem that Jagex always saying to try the world closest to you is not necessarily the best thing to do. I am posting screen shots of all the members world ping readings. The time shown on the bottom right corner of the screenshots is Eastern Stardard Time U.S. At the time these were taken it is pretty much the slowest time (and the best time) to play Runescape. Slowest referring to amount of people playing. I live in Michigan in the U.S. and as you can see, the Michigan world is about halfway down the list going from lowest ping to highest.

For those not familiar with what a ping is, it is a measure of the time it takes for a signal to go from one computer/server to another. The lower the time the better.

Those with a little bit of knowledge are more dangerous than those with none.

As I suspected I get 20= in places near me UK, Norway, Sweden etc.

315 ping in Australia

I'm UK btw.

Best Rubik's cube time solve: 27.81 seconds.

Completed Facebook Tetris Marathon (670k score)

2000+ total with 5 99's, fletching, cooking, attack, thieving and firemaking

There's more than just ping calculated into why the world would be 'best' for you. My lowest ping is 69 on a Washington server. And I'm Canadian, an live in Ontario. Fail Jagex fail. On the Canadian servers I have 85 and 101.

I got about 40 ping as my lowest, at the UK servers :) Good thing W84 is my home world.

Yes, that sig was annoying.

Here is a screen shot of a speed test. I crossed out my ip address at the top. Yes, I know the upload speed sucks.

Suggest a poll for Tip.it - Here!

I get 18-20 on dutch/uk/europe worlds, 160 or something on american worlds, 330 for australia.

Getting around 40 Ping on my homeworld, which does make me lag quite a bit.

I generally have the same ping for most of the worlds; they're usually between 70-100.

The best ping ive had is 65 in the UK servers, which surprised me since I live in norway and the norwegian server gives me 71.

I did have to laugh at the 340 ping im getting from the aussie worlds though.

i also get <20 on european servers and around 180 on us, but indeed (unsurprisingly) australian and new zealand servers are by far the worse with 300+ :P

Lord_Beloved.png

Most of mine are N/A, but I ping about 220 to US and Canada, 80 to Australia, 320 to Norway, 350 to Finland... And those are all the ones that show up that don't have RIS..

Doomy edit: I like sheep

Lowest is 14, which is my home world of 82.

The ping don't seem to mean much to me, I have the lowest ping to UK servers around 20-40 (I'm UK btw) yet they are the laggiest servers of them all. :wall: My home world (w27) has a ping of 189 but its the smoothest server I have used nor ever had any major lag in the last 3 years playing on it.

Thanks Gradeskip93 for my awesome sig!

All of mine still say N/A.

hopesolopatriot.jpg

Almost all of mine are N/A and the few that aren't are like in the 80s. :x

mines write to me N/A to all, except w44 that's 106 ping and w104 that's 16\26 (don't remember lol) ping. and they're "runescape servers" without any country, somebody have figured out what that means? -.-

want_a_box.png

My lowest was like 87. That's Canada for you. #-o (Australian World 50 -> 317 ping)

j0xPu5R.png

Mine was about 90 on each world except austrialian worlds which they were 250+. I would think I would get better pings with Broadband internet.

Low_C.png

60-100 on all except Australia, New Zealand and India, which gave me about 280-350.

Apparently the ping feature doesn't work on Unix systems.

hopesolopatriot.jpg

67-110 ish on most.

250 or so in India and Australia and other foreign worlds.

14 is lowest, is in dutch/belgian worlds, most other worlds I have 20-30, except for aussie (300+) and Indian (170).
