The MBTI Personality Test

Recommended Posts

Personally, I use and refer others to this test. I have taken it multiple times over the years and always been an INTJ. I do not doubt the result. INTJ Central describes us very well, though the site isn't working for me currently.

I got a more accurate result from that test than the one in the OP

INFJs are conscientious and value-driven. They seek meaning in relationships, ideas, and events, with an eye toward better understanding themselves and others. Using their intuitive skills, they develop a clear vision, which they then execute decisively to better the lives of others. Like their INTJ counterparts, INFJs regard problems as opportunities to design and implement creative solutions.[13]

INFJs are quiet, private individuals who prefer to exercise their influence behind the scenes. Although very independent, INFJs are intensely interested in the well-being of others. INFJs prefer one-on-one relationships to large groups. Sensitive and complex, they are adept at understanding complicated issues and driven to resolve differences in a cooperative and creative manner. [14]

INFJs have a rich, vivid inner life, which they may be reluctant to share with those around them. Nevertheless, they are congenial in their interactions, and perceptive of the emotions of others. Generally well-liked by their peers, they may often be considered close friends and confidants by most other types. However, they are guarded in expressing their own feelings, especially to new people, and so tend to establish close relationships slowly. INFJs tend to be easily hurt, though they may not reveal this except to their closest companions. INFJs may "silently withdraw as a way of setting limits," rather than expressing their wounded feelingsa behavior that may leave others confused and upset.[15]

INFJs tend to be sensitive, quiet leaders with a great depth of personality. They are intricately and deeply woven, mysterious, and highly complex, sometimes puzzling even to themselves. They have an orderly view toward the world, but are internally arranged in a complex way that only they could understand. Abstract in communicating, they live in a world of hidden meanings and possibilities. With a natural affinity for art, INFJs tend to be creative and easily inspired.[16] Yet they may also do well in the sciences, aided by their intuition.[17]

God Damnit. I was going to respond something like "these tests are stupid feel-good pseudo-scientific wastes of time," and then I went and took the frikkin' test.

I received as result of INTJ last year when I took the test in the last thread. I guess I'm less intuitive now or something.

You are the only other ESTJ (well, sort of) here, and your results are pretty damn similar to mine. E/I is nearly right on the line for me too.

I'm on the fence between ENTP and INTP, it seems.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Holy crap why are there so many INTJs here? (I guess I'm not too surprised) I usually get INTJ, the only one I'm remotely close to the center on is iNtuitive vs. Sensing (N/S), though if I were to label myself I would definitely go with N.

(Well, whaddaya know? Got INTJ on the test in the OP, I'll take that other one now I guess)

I'm both of these.

ESTP - "Promotor". Action! When present, things begin to happen. Fiercely competitive. Entrepreneur. Often uses shock effect to get attention. Negotiator par excellence. 4.3% of total population.

ENTP - "Inventor". Enthusiastic interest in everything and always sensitive to possibilities. Non-conformist and innovative. 3.2% of the total population

I didn't record the percentages, however, so I took it a second time.

Extroverted (E) 58.06% Introverted (I) 41.94%

Intuitive (N) 52.38% Sensing (S) 47.62%

Thinking (T) 75.86% Feeling (F) 24.14%

Perceiving (P) 59.52% Judging (J) 40.48%

And ENTP's (which is all I got the second time around) description cracks me up.

risk taker, easy going, outgoing, social, open, rule breaker, thrill seeker, life of the party, comfortable in unfamiliar situations, appreciates strangeness, disorganized, adventurous, talented at presentation, aggressive, attention seeking, experience junky, insensitive, adaptable, not easily offended, messy, carefree, dangerous, fearless, careless, emotionally stable, spontaneous, improviser, always joking, player, wild and crazy, dominant, acts without thinking, not into organized religion, pro-weed legalization

dictator, computer consultant, international spy, tv producer, philosopher, comedian, music performer, it consultant, figher pilot, politician, diplomat, entertainer, game designer, bar owner, freelance writer, creative director, strategist, news anchor, professional skateboarder, airline pilot, comic book artist, college professor, private detective, mechanical engineer, lecturer, ambassador, astronomer, research scientist, judge, web developer, scholar, fbi agent, cia agent, electrical engineer, assassin

Bold= Awesome career

Almost all your careers are awesome.

Yeah, but the bolded ones are especially awesome.

You are:

*very expressed introvert

*moderately expressed intuitive personality

*distinctively expressed thinking personality

*moderately expressed judging personality

INTJ - "Mastermind". Introverted intellectual with a preference for finding certainty. A builder of systems and the applier of theoretical models. 2.1% of total population.

~~~~~~~~~~
I took the personality tests on both the humanmetrics and similarminds sites, but I wasn't very impressed. I would have preferred there to be more questions, and the YES/NO answer options on the humanetrics site were disappointing. The overt flattery in the type descriptions didn't much help, either. "Mastermind," honestly?
Anyway, personality tests can be interesting, but they shouldn't be taken too seriously; they're obviously made to be "marketable" and appealing, so polished results are to be expected for the most part.
I got ENTP. I'm not gonna bother reposting the results either. But it seemed to fit me well. One of the careers was "game designer", so I'm pleased. Although, I was pretty borderline on a few of those, with my highest percentage being about 75%.
My personality type is IDBTC: I don't buy this crap. Seriously - an online personality test?
That predates the internet by half a century or so.
Most personality tests are crap and pseudo science. If you want a GOOD personality test then you want the IPIP NEO. Most personality psychologists regard it as the most valid and accurate. It measures the Big Five, and traditionally costed a lot of money to take. A college proffessor put it up on the internet though, and you can find it here
http://www.personalitytest.net/ipip/ipipneo1.htm
It is 300 questions though, and could take upwards of an hour to do.
When you're able to identify the questions as to what those questions will lead your results to be, it becomes quite boring and predictable on how you want to shape the outcome, whether or not you feel guilty, excited or annoyed at the limited possible results. Just why I think such tests are inaccurate, as they do not ask any hard hitting questions, but plain questions that have no real insight into a person. Who wants to be told that they may commit one of the major crimes or who'll most likely commit suicide...etc.
I'm ISTJ and only halfly agree with the stuff.
