what's the point of hybrid helms/boots/gloves when those don't even have accuracy penalties lol

 

Doesn't its defense apply more evenly against all 3 styles too though? Not just no accuracy penalty but also a boost in defense rating.. but they lower the stats by a massive amount which effectively makes it junk?

it is nice against ppl that use multi style, but weak against ppl that focus on same style, but can counter using prayer

but the armour are too exp

maybe, or maybe not, the hunter will be mostly 99% hit, unless their lvl diff are big

not to say the lower hp compare to full 50 lvl

dont feel like testing it either.

its not worth it to just buy for FoG, while the population for FoG are low and FoG become whose combat lvl higher, who mostly win

50M for the complete set, I think I'll just do with Batwing and blue d'hide for 15K... |^_^| I wouldn't pay more than 2M for dragonstone, unless they make the stats better.

agree, however, the stats wont be any better, cause its a 50 lvl hybrid armour, there gonna be a tradeoff.

the only way to have better stats are higher lvl armour, which most likely wont be F2P anymore

jagex make the requirement to get it a bit too high, then rewards are sux, but still so expensive

now i only hope the price goes down, else it is almost useless like those rares

Except that they aren't discontinued and if Jagex decides to change the chances on getting them they will go down in price, making the item a useless investment as well. Atleast rares are a little stable.

So I'm not sure how many F2P players are doing the Battle Of Lumbrigde world event, but for now it seems worth for the full 10 weeks, considering one of the rewards in a level 25, 55, and 75 hybrid armor with damage reduction. Looks like after this event, there will be no need for Dragonstone unless you have money to blow or you wanna look good. Hoping the armor stay F2P.

I'm definitely grinding through it for the armor. I think the Saradominist Warpriest looks better than Dragonstone anyway. I might splurge and buy myself a set one day, but I don't see it being anytime soon.

 

I'd say there's a lot of free players doing the event. My biggest problem with it is how laggy the whole thing is. Between all the other players, NPCs, and assorted animations happening all around, I've had to go back down to fixed screen to make things bearable.

btw - if anyone is having issues with things like screen rotation feeling kind of buggy and jerky, set your camera type (under 'Controls' in the Settings interface) to RS3. For some reason it's defaulting to Classic (ie: how it worked in RS2). This made things a lot smoother for me. I know this has been posted on another thread here, but just in case people didn't see it I thought I would mention it.

Yep. Once again we've been screwed and members have been given something that no one will use because it's outclassed by other sets.

 

Decent armor was the main reason I was grinding this event. :(

The war-priest armour should at least be useful in F2P. In P2P it has to compete with 200m+ armour sets, which is a bit much to award from an event like BoL, but competing with dragonstone/runite shouldn't be a problem. T60 hybrid or a switchable t51+ single-style armour would be good.

No one's going to use it.... The only people really sticking out the event were the dedicated high-level types, and those will just use the specific armour of the attack type, instead of something that's all around weaker. No one's going to bring this armour pking, either - with worse stats then our normal armour, it'll probably just be completely dead content. I feel very sorry for anyone who already wasted 10k Reknown on it (luckily I only bought the Tier 1 stuff).

 

I do hear that the gloves/boots/cape might still have good bonuses in F2P compared to our other gear. I guess we'll see.

I probably will still do the event, if only because it finally offers decent skilling exp rates, and the exp lamps are quite handy :P

I'm continuing with my plan to get both sets because I'm crazy like that and I like having different outfit options. F2P fashionscape ftw! :P

It is no longer possible to buy multiple copies of the reward armours by switching sides, then switching back.

 

They're talking about getting multiples of the same piece of armour, not getting both sets. To test this, I just bought the zammy warpriest cuirass and now have both.

Logged in today for first time in 6 months, obviously so much has changed, barely recognise the game. Why are the player numbers so low for F2P worlds, most were 150?

 

Also has anything interesting happened in the past 6 months?

Honestly? They're low because the bot detection/prevention program is working.

 

The biggest thing you missed was the release of RS3 and the Battle of Lumbridge world event, which just ended. The good news is you're just in time for the Lumbridgr rebuild event which is happening later this month.

 

A new skill was also introduced: Divinination. Which is, unfortunately, a members skill.

 

Edit: I almost forgot, they also reworked the Black Knights' Fortress quest. It's called 'The Death of Chivalry' now. It's pretty good and has enemies that scale to your combat level. I really enjoyed it.
