This sounds like a good update for players that don't play 100+ hours a week. If you play say 10 hours a week then the extra 1 hour (see that math a page or 2 back) worth of charms gives you arround 10% more charms per week. And that's saying that you spend all that time collecting charms. That's usefull if you ask me. But those of you who play 50+ hours per week, it only gives you 2% more charms if you spend all your time gathering charms.

So pretty much I don't see this as beneficial to lower leveled players but rather players who don't spend excessive amount of time playing.

There is no need to wear weight reducing items.

Mod Tomh: You're physical body does not actually enter the spirit plane, so anything that you are wearing will not make any difference.

Less complaining about the quality, more suggesting places 40 minute bonus is actually useful for higher and lower leveled people alike. Waterfiends aren't exactly lvl <100 combat-friendly, and I'm sure they will appreciate the extra charms just as much.

And 200 Crimsons extra? That's 70K xp. Penguins are quite universally loved and they only give a maximum of about 40K xp a week.

Can't you guys appreciate the small stuff every now and then?

16 penguin points used on herblore at 85 herb=saves me ~800-900k GP.

This saves an hour of time. 1 hour=1 mil. So really, this does save a good bit.

If you figure everything out, it really doesn't save anything.

You gain more charms for 40 minutes, but you don't gain more money. That means, although you do get the extra charms you still have to get the cash to pay for the extra charms. Also if you add up all the time it takes to get ready for the D&D, then the time to get ready to fight, then switching worlds and other inconveniences you really only have a max of around 30-35 minutes extra charms and possibly less plus the time it took you to find the locations and all of that Jazz. Honestly the whole thing is an inconvenience rather than a helpful addition.

So um, deal with it?

Um, why?

It's pointless, poorly thought out, and adds nothing to the game. Better that a fuss is made of it early so they change it before their attention moves on to something else.

I think we're thinking of two different things. I wasn't really talking about the update quality.

I went, was glitched as a gelataneous monster, I thought my runs going down severely, clicked on the exit, somehow transformed into a yak, stayed a while had collected 44 shards with half the time to go, then I had 4 things on me everywhere I went I saw one sooo I gave up!

Wait are you actually saying getting more charms in less is inconvenient because making pouches from the charms costs money? You'd have to do that anyway even if you collected charms the normal way.

Your figure of 30-35 mins of extra charms also seems off, max would be like 37 minutes of actual charm collecting which is 111 minutes' worth of charms. Say finding the obelisk takes 5 mins (there will be clan chats for this soon) and collecting all the shards in the d&d costs 16 minutes (from personal experience). That means 58 minutes spent to get the amount of charms you'd usually get in 111 minutes, 53 minutes saved.

So basically you save whatever you can make per hour in opportunity costs by doing this, I wouldn't complain.

I used the "search Topic" feature at the bottom of this thread, and it didn't show anything so:

"Mostly Harmless" refers to Mos Le'Harmless.

Wait, I thought that was the entry for Earth in The Guide?

I'd like for this to be actually confirmed by someone in-game. Even given Mod Emilee's post I have a feeling that Abyssal , Obsidian, and Talon beast charms aren't affected.

So chinning/bursting in Abyss = amazing charms or no? They drop Abyssal Charms and coloured ones. Staff of Light and Battle Robes making it even better.

oooo a new game to play :) I think i might have to do this b4 any waterfiend task :) 150 crimson from 50 waterfiends sounds reasonably decent :P

for the location hints in the OP, would the place where doors talk be the stronghold of security. Only place I can think of with talking doors.

When this next round of active Summoning obelisks spawns, it would be awesome if, when you're posting/confirming locations, they are exactly worded/punctuated as they appear in game.

[/shameless plug]

In all seriousness though, it would be very helpful to the Crew staff. :) We very much appreciate user input on update days, and you of course will be credited where credit is due.

Bleh. Kinda useless for 99 summoners... was hoping for an actual summoning update, not a D&D.

Oh well. Looks pretty cool for those who do need to train though.

3x last for how long? one hour? day? week? month? forever? never?

My vengeance is everything..

..everything must come to an end

Haven't tried it, looks pretty fun. Since I have 99 of course I'll be taking the items. This would be really helpful for slayer to do before they kill some waterfiends.

Please start posting your location hints please :)

This place is Mostly Harmless- Mos le Harmless

thats the only one I got.

"We all make choices, but in the end our choices make us."

Seems like a nice little update. I'll be doing it once a week and then saving it for waterfiends tasks. I like that you don't have to use the rewards right away. The complaining is hilarious, as we just got a huge update last week.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

I've tried bursting them w/o the 3x bonus, and they aren't great

the 3x bonus wont help much because ALOT of the time is just spent banking since the abyssal charms dont stack and cant be put into a beast of burden

3x bonus would only amplify the banking process so much more

Near the ever-flagging war - Castle Wars, of course. :P
