That's what I call a FML moment. But really, were vials merched that badly? Were they massively hoarded by clan leaders and then by the clan membes on the instruction of the leader? To me it just seems like a rise caused by the herblore update, just like every other herb. Bad decision by Jagex tbh. And master smither, I don't really understand why you call Arcane and Spectral unstable. They have been buy-able for mid max for almost 2 weeks now (or longer, but for me personally) and they have proved to be very reliable and easy (though you need some patience) flips. I don't really see how they could suddenly crash, or get totally bought out. They are buyable, they are sellable. Seems pretty stable to me. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! A good merchant can flip any item with the right tactics. They are a fairly unstable item as they can turn on dime. They have been a rollercoster of min-max for the past month which would freak people out. Before 3rd age got rebought out (for the millionth time) I used to flip arcanes and spectrals. It would take me a few days to buy for min-mid then I'd sell for mid-max over the next 24 hours or so. It is not something the majority want to do as people tend to panic right when an item doesn't sell. I could babble on about in-depth merchanting, but I'd lose the majority of our readers in a heart beat. On another note....Santas were heavily bought out about 12 hours ago and were sellable for easters and now they seemed to have dropped to buyable at max. Everything else is basically the same since my last update except for the fact that divines and elysians dropped over 200M in street price and are not longer selling for white+cash. Arcanes and spectrals are a bit more stable now also. I bought a santa last night for max and was only able to sell for market so I don't think the buyout was very successful. Pumpkins, disks, and easters won't act like 3rd age did because they really have no purpose besides being a rare item. They will hit a price in the GE where the public demand will just flat out stop. Once this happens they will fall back down to their real price which would be around 15M. They will however get continuously bought out and dumped after then until they start to settle like Arcanes and Spectrals did. I would get at least one of the highest value phat that you can reasonably secure. I think the higher valued phats are more stable than the lower valued ones -- I'm convinced that the purple phat is overdue for a serious crash. But I wouldn't put everything in one item -- I would diversify away some risk by buying multiple different items. I say wieldable rares for two reasons. First, while rares may crash in the short run, they always will go up in the long run. Second, I say wieldable rares because there is a natural demand for these items because they can actually be worn. The edibles are essentially speculation items for merchers. There is little or no natural demand, and they are overdue for a big crash. I would NOT leave my money in cash. With all of the tricking still going on, inflation will eat you up. Also, the natural supply is pretty low because zamorak is the least killed GWD boss. I figure I will make enough cash to buy any 99 I want, with enough playing. I have a few masks that ARE investments, and I know it's a risk. Low C Posted October 16, 2009 Share Posted October 16, 2009 Even if they did mess with the rares market and say make them all not tradeable then it would be like someone owning bunny ears or a scythe. I wouldn't mind but It would be better on them if they gave the player atleast market price for his rare item.
