Yesterday was a good day to try and get panic dumped unbuyable items. My friend managed to get three purples and a yellow without having an offer seconds after a GE update.

Third age is selling for under mid now, with the exception of melee which is selling mid or so.

The Elysian crash rumors that are going around are not true; however, the elysian did take a minor hit earlier today, but has rebounded now. There is a lot of sell offers for the Elysian now, which is kind of scary. Arcane and spectral are falling but, it's not too hard and you will be able to sell it at min overtime.

Easters, disks, and pumpkins took a bit of the hit from panic selling, but they are still over 100M street with the exception of easters at 80M.

Partyhats remain the same and white is creeping towards 300M :ohnoes:

There are a few ways this could go

1) This could cause mass dumping and no buying thus driving the prices super low (relative to prices over the last few weeks, 'low' is more like 'normal' in the long run). The people who managed to sell off their items will hold their cash because of fear of losing it.

2) Panic sellers dump mass amounts of items right into the hands of hoarders who just stick the items into thier banks to rot and eventually pop back up. With these people buying, the initial drop will be sharp as all the items are likely being sold at min. But as soon as the panicing ceases players will see the graph leveling off and all rush to buy back their items. The hoarders then wait will the price is 10-15% over what they paid for them, dump and cause the 'main' crash.

3)It causes a 2-3 day crash then all the gp that is already in the game just keeps inflation going. Remember, this update does not stop mass amounts of GP entering the game, it just makes it minimaly harder for people to 76k, so at most it slows it down.

Or, I could be way off and thus I will be hunted down by RSW44 and Bedman and made an example of. :ohnoes:

PS -> I was mass flipping yews. Turns out they are being sold for minimum! YAY, so I can`t take advantage of the crash because my money is already tied up in falling logs!

That was basically what I was going to stay. To me it seems like a panic dump by everyone including some merchants. Personally, I was able to flip "crashing items" last night and turn ~20M and I'm currently buying some more "crashing" items to flip. The trick wasn't ruined, all it did was make it so only hardcore trickers can really profit from it because they need to organize two people to trick with instead of just one.

Partyhats all just moved up at the same time. Does that mean that they're buyable in the GE now?

Not at all. This happens every once in awhile by coincidence and combined with some of the players panicing that inflation is dead, some might have sold their hats and just caught it on a blue partyhat update day.

Panic dump? I think not.

This is a true price crash.

No more inflation from 76king, so all rares will tank now.

Prices going back to normal finally.

Party hats back to the sub 100mil range. Santas and masks back to sub 20 mil range.

I think easters and pumpkins will stay the same though.

------my opinion

Correct me if i am wrong but isn't it the fact that pvp drop items that can be converted into cash that is the real (part) of inflation? Sure 76king brought tons of that in, but pvp will only continue this right?

At first I thought, hmm tricking isn't fixed so inflation will stay, but the more I think and read about it, the more comlicated it seems. It seems to all boil down to this question:

Will the people that tricked before do the effort to form organised clans and find scamfree systems to keep exploiting the pvp system? Or will they go back to their previous activities, whatever it was.

The problem is I dont trick myself so I don't know that much about the tricking community, but I personally wouldn't do all that effort. Heck, I didn't even do it before, when it was easy. I really cba doing nothing to gain ep, even when it is half afk.

That's why I sold most of my highly inflated items that I don't use that much (Had a bunch of runes, addy bars, gold ore, oak planks, ...). I will be watching everything closely though.

EDIT: Hm, interesting:

I like how the OP says it "fails" and that we haven't stopped anything... but doesn't say how.

I think that a lot of these posts are just scaremongering. It's not quite as simple as everybody seems to think it is.

Mark, here's how.

We can no longer DM someone with the possibility of decent loot. *More than once*

Second, you didn't stop 76king. It simply takes 5+ people in a team to do it, that's not hard.

Lol it's so easy to get around

1. 76k ur friend once, kill a 1 itemer, repeat.

2. 76k in a group of 3-4 friends so no one kills the same person twice***** inflation? Nthx

Tanker, JimCrow

If that's what you think. Good luck with that.

You can DM people, but after the first time you won't get good loot. We do understand that is a consequence (as we said in the post) but if you are just DM'ing for fun then that's no an issue right?

I am curious about this as well. Since I have never taken part in 76king, I am wondering whether this update has really made a significant impact on 76king.

Anybody have answers to any any of the above

You're wrong (unless I don't understand the PVP system).

I haven't played RS in months. I have started playing again recently, and I am curious as to the posts such as this.

PVP: Do you receive straight cash? Because if you don't, then PVP is NOT what is causing inflation. It is just causing money to move around. It brings absolutely no new money into the game. If I get a DFS as a drop, I received a 30M item. 30M was not introduced into the game, a DFS was introduced into the game.

No, you get statues and such, and you trade those to an NPC for pure cash.

Wow. I stand corrected. Why the [bleep] would JaGex put in place such an idiotic system? Has no one there studied Economics before?

About the whole 76k/26k nerf thing, I think it will soon return back to normal, since players will still look for a way to exploit the system anyway.

The rares might be unsellable now but after about a week or so they will sell again.

At least, that is what I think.

First off.....joker2022 has been trying to spread false information on this thread for awhile. He doesn't provide any back up to his comments and has even flamed before resulting in his posts being hidden. Ignore him until he has a valid argument. I welcome any opposition to my opinions/statements as I'm not always right about something.

Second...PvP is no where near fixed. A trusted friend of mine who is in one of the PvP trick clan chats has said as long as you have three people to do it with you can trick normally. It's no where near ruined, it's just hindered a little bit to solo trickers.

@Bedman...I saw these posts and really believed him until my friend informed me otherwise. Remember...this is Jagex they were dumb enough to say how they killed drops instead of saying well we hurt drops a bit for trickers. They will of course be trying to say they did more than simply make it so you can't kill someone six times and receive max loot. I don't trick and I really don't play enough these days to test it.

I just went to check out pvp worlds and I must say I didn't see that much trickers. I tried to ask around wether the triangle tricking still works, but I couldn't find any answers. There are some people on RSOF claiming it doesn't work though. It seems most people who are talking about this "triangle tricking" are just talking hypothetically and haven't tested it, so who knows. If Master Smithers's information is right, it is possible though, and people on RSOF were lieing yet again. Fact is, the statuettes are still in game, and pvp worlds weren't empty, so cash is still generated.

At this right moment, BCP isn't buyable at mid anymore, and Zarfot was buying them for mid in RSOF. Last time I saw Zarfot buying something in RSOF was when he was buying tons of SGS for around 55m which rose to 60m+ in the next few days. Glad I bought myself a bcp and tasset yesterday for min (personal use). I decided to give it a go myself and bought some armadyl armour + santas and red masks. Let's see how it turns out.

3a mage/range is a bit more complicated. 3rd age mage (buy ammy) was on the verge of a crash even before the update. I put my mage top in for max, and it didn't sell instantly, 2 days before pvp fix. I put it then in a little under max and it sold in around half an hour. I sold 2 other overnight then. Then I tried two mage bottoms which sold instantly for max.

After that pvp fix came in and it crashed for real. I managed to sell one range top for a little under med, but I had to sell my mage hats and one more mage bottom for min. I also had an ammy and apperantly it was still very strong, cause it sold instantly for max. I regret selling it now...

Gonna be interesting to see if 3a mage/range will follow bandos and climb back up, or, more logically, keeps falling untill it is ready to rise again (check graphs). With merchers, nothing is logic though, cause this is probably a good oportunity to get a grip on it, I guess...

Seems like the majority of the big items that crashed are going back up. Third age melee rebounded quite well, along with claws and AGS. The other third age is still a bit iffy, but it's better than it was 2 days ago.

I know this isn't about PHats or anything, but every day I'm usually logging on RS for a few minutes to update G.E offers, and that is the extent of my RS playing. I've managed to make around 26m since the beginning of summer on f2p items only, and limited knowledge as to what is currently going on. I know the updates but don't really know what they mean for the economy.

The past week I noticed I was having a hard time buying or selling some raw mats, and also noticed certain bars have crashed in price pretty bad recently. What exactly is going on?

Also I'm debating whether or not to buy a Santa hat once I get enough and just stop "merching." Can I even buy a Santa? Should I wait until I have like 40m and then buy one so I still have some to merch with?

Bandos , armadyl , claws , all godswords expect zgs i think , are back up. I'm not to sure how long this will stay , people could panic again and sell but there is just to much money in the rs economy at the moment , so prices will stay high. Jagex need to introduce a money sink for a real crash to happen.

With 3a , its being quite odd. All melee peices are back up , mage is doing quite well and range seems to be selling min / med still.

I've been saving up for a while now, but I have no idea the street price for green phats. Are they buyable at all in the Ge?

You can buy it in the GE if you get an offer in within 30 seconds of a price change. Otherwise you will not be able to buy it via the GE. If your going to try and get for cash I wish you luck; street price is around 400M, but those offers tend to get sucked up quickly by merchants.

i tried sniping a purple in the GE before when i got one off trade, didn't work. so its a matter of luck, apparently. same with yellow. i literally put an offer in a second after update and no one sold it whatsoever.

not that i'm tryuing to manipulate price or anything.

Can anyone provide some insight? Mostly I want to know if I can/should buy santa on G.E
