I don't see edibles lasting much longer. Merchants are pushing them too hard now, and we all know that edible prices are completely dependent on partyhat prices. Master_Smither Posted November 7, 2009 Share Posted November 7, 2009 A purple is worth about 1.5 easters actually, but nonetheless they are nearing their end. Once parthatys crash, or at least the lower three maybe four, the edibles and disks will take a hard hit and easters will most likely crash. After the crash many people who have been wanting a p hat for awhile will suck them up and thus causing them to be bought out again. That'll last for a few days and then they'll crash again. They might go through a couple cycles of this before they start crashing hard or stabilizing; depending on the partyhat. Personally, I have stayed away from edibles because of the fact they have basically no purpose besides being a merchanting item. Blues and whites seem to be relatively unaffected by the whole edible escapade going on right now. Purple, yellow, and green will crash first and they will most likely drag the red down with them. I don't see white and blues being impacted though. Arcanes and spectrals are being traded for eggs+cash right now. Spectrals have the stronger buyout right now, however I don't seem them getting more than one GE update before they crash; if even that. Divine is still the same and Elysian dropped back down to white+cash street price from white+easter. Now that phat is costing you 250m AND it is going down. When I read master smithers's post at first I thought: Hmm, time to get one, but then I realized I don't even want one. I had one, when they were even cheaper, and sold it. Maybe when I know I will quit, or won't be playing for a while, I get one, but other than that, I dont think so. I'll grab hold of a blue, but that's about it. Your exactly right-when I bought my ely I was 400M down in merchanting power. It wasn't worth losing the profit just yet. I do enjoy my partyhats, but when it comes down to me having to max or have another hat I'd choose to max. I saw someone selling one on the RSOF and got offers for phats+eggs, 450M cash, and eventually took a 500M offer i believe. Eggs are being passed around from merchant to merchant alot as well. Seems to me that the smart ones are selling the eggs off, but instead of just selling them all for a few M under street they are selling for over street. It seems like a major scheme by the big merchants to try and squeeze the life out of them before the partyhat crash. I'd avoid dealing with any edibles besides half wines because I see a lot of people with them getting burned. The easters are being traded off for spectrals or arcanes right now. Basically, rares are being traded off and sold for their max to other unsuspecting merchants. Because there are more players online durring the weekends they may choose to dump on a Monday. That way all the offers that people put in on the weekend take the brunt of the dump. Also, with less people online, the clan will have a higher chance of being the first ones to put in their offers first for several days in a row before the weekend folk come. Got the thing at 80m (purple) + 13m (trade up to yellow) +0m (trade to green). Maybe I'll buy it back after the inevitable crash. Oh, and I couldn't sell my green mask @ mid. I thought I had a bit of a chance to flip masks before the rares market went in the tank, but appearantly not...EDIT: They all sold. It took around an hour to sell them at 200k under med. I had heard nothing indicating that there would be a Slayer update anytime soon, let alone an all-new dungeon. Exactly how much is actually known about this? Have any particular drops been named or hinted at such as new armor?I'm currently holding onto Bandos because it is ever so slightly helpful for Slayer and its price continues to rise, but with an all-new dungeon full of new Slayer monsters with new drops, they could possibly be releasing 15% pieces for the chest and legs... On the other hand, seeing as how Bandos is favored by many, many Slayer enthusiasts, if no such new armor is released then it could spring up even further in demand and rise even quicker... The question i ask is what effect will this have on the other rares? And we also all know that merchants must have a long term un-buyable item (like 3rd age was and partyhats). What new item will become the long term un-buyable? My personal prediction is that partyhats will have a 2-3 day crash where the public sell up and the merchants just hoard more party hats and then partyhats remian a long term un-buyable item and all other rares stay the same. It depends on the new item Jagex is release on whether or not they will have to pick up partyhats again, go back to 3rd age, go back to spectrals and arcanes, or whether they just stay with edibles and disk. Partyhats really can't go too much higher now because of the public will not want them at all. When there is no public demand the item just dies. I hope all spirit shield crash right after the phat crash. I really want an Elysian or Divine... but they're impossible to get a hold of... Elysian and divine still remain strong in the market. I don't seem them crashing for quite a bit actually just because they are actually useful, now useful for 400M+ is another question.
