sadface no crash today.

Depends how you define "crash" -- seems to me that it's a lot easier to buy partyhats on the street today than it was last week. Plus I saw multiple partyhats move up simultaneously on GE today, which suggests to me that more people are selling them for cash.

It can't really be called a crash. Partyhats becoming easier to buy is a product of the degradation of their bought out state. I am at the point where I am leaning towards selling my red before the crash, like I did with my 3rd age. I don't see the purple lasting longer than Thanksgiving break. The yellow and green remain very low, but it's not nearly as bad as the purple is doing.

that could be the case, but the real definition of crash is the collapse or failing of prices. its just partyhats aren't valuable as before but can still maintain some value that gives enough incentive to potential buyers. so technically, it didn't crash.

anyways, to those who want partyhats now should hold on to their cash because the real crash can happen soon like i said before. the update today gave no incentive for phat owners to sell so it still has chance to go a little bit higher.

i think it would be a good time to seize edibles for phats. reds slightly below 2 eggs.

I am starting to hear murmers ingame of a looming dump and the RSOF has a few people saying the dump is close. However, they still seem to be going for quite high street value. If you are planning on selling your hat, I would say try to get a good offer off the RSOF instead of selling in the GE, as the street price is still quite far above GE price. I can't wait to see the mass amounts of "selling phat for market price" threads when the dump happens.

It's very easy to scare people into selling off their phats...they don't have to crash rumors of a crash are going to be what causes a crash.

It gets easier to scare people everyday they rise. However, the people involved with 200M+ items are not usually idiots and they will sell off the majority of the partyhat stock whenever they feel they have reached their peek. The idiots with partyhats will sell them off once the word crash starts to circulate, the merchants will pick those up and rise them for a bit more, then the merchants will dump on the people with offers to keep phats and the idiots trying to get their phats again. In the end the smarter people win.

It's obvious that partyhats are going to crash in the very near future, maybe only lower ones or maybe all of them. The question i ask is what effect will this have on the other rares? And we also all know that merchants must have a long term un-buyable item (like 3rd age was and partyhats). What new item will become the long term un-buyable?

My personal prediction is that partyhats will have a 2-3 day crash where the public sell up and the merchants just hoard more party hats and then partyhats remian a long term un-buyable item and all other rares stay the same.

It won't really effect the lower rares too much. It depends on the new item Jagex is release on whether or not they will have to pick up partyhats again, go back to 3rd age, go back to spectrals and arcanes, or whether they just stay with edibles and disk. Partyhats really can't go too much higher now because of the public will not want them at all. When there is no public demand the item just dies.

I hope all spirit shield crash right after the phat crash. I really want an Elysian or Divine... but they're impossible to get a hold of...

Elysian and divine still remain strong in the market. I don't seem them crashing for quite a bit actually just because they are actually useful, now useful for 400M+ is another question.

They're definitely worth 400M. Doubling your GWD could easily rake in a few mill more, easily paying off the shield from just casual playing.

And as for the expected crash, idiots with phats and merchants with phats are basically the same. Both panic whenever something happens; anytime there's a major update to the game itself, you don't see the merchants buying up what the "idiots" are selling. To me, everyone's panicky and on the verge of dumping everything they own for some cash.

I would say that merchants are *more* likely to dump partyhats because they actually care about their value. Normal players, like myself, are not as eager to dump them for profit. It's crazy how random people ask me what partyhat prices (in the GE) are nowadays, and I have no idea, because I don't ever plan on selling it.

So, if anything, merchants are more likely to dump.

I'm not going to quote because it will make the page longer.

I've owned an Elysian and Divine and used them enough to know about them. They really aren't worth 400M because there isn't anywhere besides armadyl gwd where it the effect really is needed to stay longer. When I say something is not worth such and such price, I mean that it's not worth spending the GP on it if you are planning on spending the majority of your bank on that item.

When I say "idiots" I was reffering to the blind merchants, who buy and sell without anything about what they are getting into. They jump on the bandwagon so to speak. These blind merchants tend to dump early and buy late (if they can even get the item). They will sell on the first word of dump and only lose profits in the end.

Sounds like the exact reason why I stay out of merchanting. That's exactly the way I would react. :P

Yeah, I don't bother with it. I know that I would lose money. Though, I think it also might be that I don't know how to do it and that I've never gotten good advice from anyone. One of my best friends was trying to get me into flipping, telling me what items to do, etc. He just lost 11m on it.

And even at Armadyl, those shields are only really useful if you solo or duo with a partner who also has a shield. In a team, you may save a few hundred K per trip in supplies, but other than that, negating damage won't have any real effect because your team mates will still run out of supplies. With just a DFS and armadyl armor and a pony, you can already stay for 4+ hours in a trio team (provided everyone else has the same gear and a pony, too). I don't know about you, but I don't find GWD fun after about the third consecutive hour of being there.

I'm of the opinion that the Divine Spirit Shield is a solo boss hunters weapon. Elysian is mostly useless compared to Divine. There's a great thread on the RSOF that mathematically explains the Divines superiority.

what are the current rates for 3rd age pieces?

everything (but ammy which is rising) is below mid. some are actually crashing, its kind of funny.

Yeah it was about to crash before the pvp "fix" anyway. Then it crashed shortly like everything, and then went up when people realised it wasn't a fix, but like I thought, it should just continue its path of before the "fix", which was close to crashing. (talking about mage/melee here)

edit: Red h'weens are finally going up. Good thing I bought 6 of them before, but bad thing I didn't buy more. Green and blue are going up too I think, but in a lesser extent it seems.

Santas are also going up...

Well it seems like as the days go on partyhats keep sinking in street price.

Purple-<egg

Yellow-Egg

Green-Egg

Red-3 Eggs or a disk

White-2 pumps+disk/Elysian+egg

Blue-5 Pumps+2 disk+3 easter/2 whites+2 red(maybe)

The lower three partyhats have been almost wrecked, while red has taken a big hit, with white and blue basically the same as before. Watch for the lower hats to crash soon.

purple is basically max now. i saw a good merch sell a yellow for egg + 10m junk and cash. people are also downgrading yellows to green+cash (vice versa) which is hilarious. red is probably under 2 eggs (depends on the merch) and white/blue is still going. i think by the time november passes, we'll all be seeing phats going down or ATLEAST buyable again.

minor wearables seems to be going up along with edibles and disk.

I have sold off 3 mint cakes for 1.75m in the last 3 days, eaten one (now I only withdraw them noted), and have one left. The instant that I said "Selling mint cake 1.75" in w2 ge, I was spammed with offers.

I'm in the dark on how people create massive amounts of junk.

Is it left over from training skills or do they intentionally collect it?

Junk = (Usually) Merched crap

@ Phats situation:

YESSSS!! I'll buy a yellow phat once it is buyable (:

I'm sure you could get a yellow for max right now, but I'd wait to get it a bit cheaper.
