bedman
Flipping is also bone by buying for min and selling under mid, so according to your theory, they let the price go down... Conclusion: flippers don't do anything for long term effects, they just let buyers pay more, and sellers get less. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! BiJay
Also keep in mind, most flippers [that I know] buy their items around mid/just under mid, while people buying their items from flippers buy at maximum or near max. That would mean the equilibrium does not cancel out, as the items are being bought around middle and sold for around max. This does raise the price, however not to a point where it is hurting the economy at all.No, they buy as low as they can and sell as high as they can. These two values are fully dependent on the market. Solo merchanters don't tend to drive the prices up or down, they actually keep the prices stable if they also invest in items by buying them when they are low and selling them when they are high. By flipping items they also give the players a chance to either buy the item (when the flipper has an sell offer up for them) or sell it (when the flipper has an buy offer up for them). Without merchanters players could be in trouble because nobody wants to buy their items when they need them or the other way around. Merchanters were always and will ever be part of the economy and have their positives and negatives but can't be put in one category. [404] Signature not found. bedman
How could players get in trouble by nodoby wanting to buy their items? I mean, flippers get to sell their item to non merchants, and even in bigger amounts, why shouldnt it work for this guy selling his 1 sgs. The other way around, why should a player have troubles to buy an item, when flippers get to buy multiples of these items, and that for a cheap price. Don't try to justify flippers, they don't have any positive parts but for themselves. Okay, they dont mess it up like merch clans do, but telling everyone they're doing something good, give me a break. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! Satenza
Told you to sell your Santas :) With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
Tecmaster
What's spectral's status? I can't seem to find out. The forums are all over the place on spectral ss offers. Stupid manipulating noobs...That's wierd I just saw the ge graphs and they show the spectrals to be stable in the short term and increasing in long term. Unless they got their hands on the information that some organized merch is going to be crashing them I'm not quite sure why they would be selling so many on the forums. Eh, who knows. Squisher_33
ok ok so bedman you said its because solo merchers we cant do this you fail to realise these things dont happen at the exact same time a. the seller waits for a buyer to buy b. a buyer waits for a seller to sell however the flipper holds it during that inbetween time allowing them to both mainin the item or cash they want we coudl aregue all day at this but the point is weather you are ok with it or think merchanters are the anti-christs im going to merch anyways so its all good by me to who said chessy is dedicated but not a genious, exact opposite her type of merch takes no dedication, like someone else said 5-10 mins a day however, if any old idiot could do what she does we would all have 6 piles of max cash, so yes she is a genious simply becuse shes the most elite of price manipulators and that the agerage rs player cant do this is it wrong, probably did she auto long ago, who knows maybe is she smart from figuring out if she buys a crashing item the day before a buy out for min, sells it for max the day before crash the next time it rises 5%, she just made 15% in 1-2 days, unfortunately with all that cash limits stop most of it so that once you get to about 500m you hit a wall and start to pile up 4 hour limits unless you switch to 1k santas or whatever shes diong now

bedman
Squisher, I dont think merchanters are the anit-Christ or whatever. In fact, like I said before, I solo merch myself too. I just don't try to justify it. I know people are paying more/getting less, because of me. I do it purely for personal gain, there is no "greater good". ilovecuttingyews
Where do half wines stand in the rare market?I have seen offers ranging from 1B to over 2B. I expect that the 1B offer was just someone seeing if someone is stupid enough to sell to them. So, around 2B is more or less what they are at. bedman
Just found out another interesting story about 2lum: So I was reading a bit on RSOF and find a thread where 2lum is trying to sell something. Lots of replies on the thread, and, a nice sight, a lot of spam from people telling him how she/he is a big piece of [cabbage], and that they would never buy something of her, etc. One of the flamers had a more interesting response, he was saying 2lum started to scam her ranks too. Apperently, she had added some new ranks, and told them the new item was bunyip pouches, to then bluntly dump these upon those new ranks. The guy accused her of hoarding those bunyip pouches first with another private clan. A bit later, a friend is telling me about how his friend has bought out the whole stock of fishing potions together with someone else. Apperantly, he has some experience with it, cause he had done the same with agility pots before. In fact, my friend tells me, he recently sold his whole stock of agility pots, that he had managed to double in price to cute phats (=other account of 2lum). In order to dump them, he added some edibles with it. And now comes the true power of 2lum:(at least, that is what I got from it)2 lum, who had a huge stock of bunyip pouches, and had just told her ranks that that would be the new item, dumped all her bunyip pouches upon her ranks and made the deal with this guy and his agility pots. After that, she makes agility pots, which were already merched and overpriced, the new item and sets a ridiclous dump price of 6k each. So all in all, she made some nice profit on bunyip pouches, got some edibles for trade price, got a huuuuge stock of agility pots at once (saves some hassle) and is about to double her money on these agility pots. Amazing, scary, disgusting. I have no words :-) A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!
Low C
Yeah I seen the same guy complaining about how 2lum ranked him just to dump her crashing pouches on him. I kind of felt sorry for him but not really considering he was stupid enough to merchant with 2lum with all the bad things i've heard about him/her. Obtaurian
I lol'd when 2lum dumped Lava Titan pouches at 13k~ or something like that, when the goal was 30k. Imagine all of the people following her who lost loads and loads of cash.Yeah, it was funny to see the dump price going down from 30k to 20k, and then finally 13k (when the dump price was 13k, the trade price was like 12.5k and they were already dumped of course). Was just a bit too late with gathering some obby charms and turning my blues into lava tian pouches, so I had to sell those by lending out my sgs. Still, I saved 6k by not buying water talismans, and made another 7k on the pouch, which is 13k per obby charm. That's not bad, considering I can get over 150 per hour. Consider this parallel: you are thirsty, and you want a drink. There's a vending machine, but it sells water for $2 - a ridiculous price. However, you pay it. In this parallel, the vending machine functions as a "flip merchant", and you are the person buying the expensive water bottle. Yes, you would like the water for less, but you're obviously willing to pay for it. -- On topic: 1. Can I trade 10k grenwall spikes for an easter egg? If not, how many more spikes would I need?2. Iximi
Ok so I'm a BIG TIME Tip.it lurker- but I have a question that has been bothering me recently: Why are Ranger boots going so high- they are up too 16m just today. I have planned for a while to get some, but now the price is kinda crazy for what you get. Does anyone know if this rise is purposeful and if so, when do you think the price will fall? Also not many people do level 2 clues, so supply is pretty low. Ok, but I have a small issue with that explanation. In all on 2008 the price was in between 4-6m, and in this year so far it has risen at an exponential rate that does not seem logical to me if the demand is the major reason- if anything there should be more of them than there was in 2008. I realize that there has been inflation- but I don't think that the over-hyped rate of inflation could account for this. Perhaps I am just beating a dead horse and its just people picking up on a trend?
ilovecuttingyews
Looking at the graph for them was interesting. I clearly see a few minor buyout followed by dumps. But as with all items in this inflation, the fall is never as great as the rise. So they seem to be following the normal inflation trend. That is, until November 2nd. Then it is clear that a major clan (or a small VERY wealthy group) started buying them out. As has been said, people rarely do level 2 clues because level 1's are faster and level 3's make more money, so why do level 2's? This means that ranger boots are a prime item for manipulators. High demand (best range boots) and low supply.Hope I cleared it up a bit for you. Also -> I believe the inflation is around 30-40% over the last 6 months is my memory serves me right (using runewiki's commonly traded item index) so if they had followed that (assuming they started to 6M they would be around 8M currently. Plus, with the usual summer inflation, the constant rise in players, and more people then ever being combat obsessed noobs, that can easily come out to the 10M that the boots were at prior to the latest clan.
