... which are relatively cheap ($60) but good for the price.

Holy.... 60 dollars is cheap? I've never had a pair of jeans that I paid over 25$ for...

When something is well-made, it lasts, and it has more value, economically and aesthetically. Welted shoes are a good example: 600$ for a pair of near-indestructible shell cordovan boots (plus resoling costs) is a better deal than spending thousands on a myriad of cheap shoes which will last you just as long. Not to mention it looks [bleep]ing amazing.

Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. You want everything that's--falls off garbage can

Camera guy: Whoa, haha, are you okay dude?

Matt: You want anything funny that happens, don't you?

Camera guy: still laughing

Matt: You want the funny shit that happens here and there, you think it comes out of your [bleep]ing [wagon] pushes garbage can down, don't you? You think it's funny? It comes out of here! running towards Camera guy

Camera guy: runs away still laughing

Matt: You think the funny comes out of your mother[bleep]ing creativity? Comes out of Satan, mother[bleep]er! nn--ngh! pushes Camera guy down

Camera guy: Hoooholy [bleep]!

Matt: FUNNY ISN'T REAL! FUNNY ISN'T REAL!

Of course that only makes sense if you think they're still going to fit in a few years. If you're still growing (and probably don't have that much money either), it's more economical to buy cheaper stuff.

Goes without saying, but I've got clothing that has ripped before I outgrew it.

Last link, bottom right shoes... I want so badly.

EDIT: it kinda looks like those are high heel type shoes based on the how high the sole looks on the inside, unless thats an insert that they put in to keep the shape consistent?

Meh, I don't care for the boots. Maybe its because I'm in Canada, but I don't see myself wearing something that fancy and expensive when there's so much salt on the ground 6/12 months of the year.

The shoes, however... dear god!

Thinking that I may just pretend this thread doesn't exist. I have no sense of style, when I wake up the first pair of (hopefully) clean clothes and whatever shoes fit... In the Winter it gets more complicated, I also grab a coat or something that looks good for the weather outside.

Also, I may spend less money on clothes (going back a couple post) I've never had issues with them ripping or tearing unless I deliberatly did it, or got caught in spokes or something.

^For decades at a time? Do they still look good? Talese's jacket looks the exact same after 29 years (and shoes look better).

@fast: if you take care of them the salt won't get at them, especially shell cordovan. You can use a spoon to press down the welts that you get when your shoes get soaked, too.

I'll take the phone, gaurunteed value. Buying pants like that the wallet is probably pretty empty.

I don't mean to start a convo like that from last page, different views and opinions deserve to be had.

Those untreated jeans (or whatever you call them) actually do look pretty nice, though I think I'll pass. They don't sound like they can take as much abuse as regular jeans, which means I wouldn't be able to wear them in the summer where my cheif activities of biking, climbing, swimming, and seadoo riding are going to get them dirty/soaked. I also have to laugh at the outlines on the pocket from your cell and wallet

And bonez, I can sympathize with the just throwing clothes on. I probably wear a random pair of jeans 330 days a year (summer really isn't that warm here except for one month, and if your right along the coast its plenty breezy). I have two pairs of sneakers which are my footware for most of spring through fall, and for tops I normally go with a tank top and maybe a sweater, or a t-shirt. The only time I put much thought into it (aside from when I am actually buying the clothes in the first place) is when I am doing something where something more formal is expected (mostly family get togethers or work).

Who wears jeans during the summer? :P

But yeah iPhone right pocket, keys & chapstick left pocket, wallet back left pocket. Won't get a lot of cash but you'll get all my cards.

Welcome to Nova Scotia along the coast <_< August is shorts weather the whole time, but July normally isn't quite there. Coupled with the 24/7 ocean breeze out at my parents, and its not that warm a lot of the time. Different if I'm in the city. City is shorts Late June through Early September no questions asked (its warmer, and less windy unless your right down at the harbour).

Heck, the first year I did beach lifeguarding I wore the full windsuit almost every day because of the freaking wind making me all cold (and I'm not weird, the other life guard did the same). One day the wind actually stopped, and a huge swarm of mosquitoes came out of the long grass and tried to eat everyone alive until the wind came back (which should also give you an idea of what kind of wind we get all day every day out there, and its great for windsurfing as well).

I didn't realize your that north. I forget I'm a bit spoiled since moving to the southwest, where shorts become standard attire as early as March until October.

Its also possible that I'm just being crazy. You can wear shorts if you want from late June through September if you want to without being cold, unless its raining. I normally keep wearing jeans, at least in the morning until it warms up or I start being more active, till sometime in July, because the weather in July sucks (it actually rained for most of that month a couple years back). I've actually worn shorts a few times this year already because we have had some freak warm days.

But yeah, its mostly the wind and the mosquitoes, depending on where you are.

I have no weather for shorts... Mainly because I escape from summer to the mountains of Norway, but still.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

If you soak them every once in a while they are like regular jeans, minus the washing machine damage.

He's like 14 though, so I guess that's normal. I don't know a single 14 year old who dresses well. Most people I know don't even get interested in dressing well until they're out of high school.

I dress well, in the sense that it doesn't have 600 rips from use, not to faded, and has no bad stains. With that being said, I wouldn't wear what I usually wear to a fancy/formal event (unless they put it as an option). I just don't go out of my way to have a certain look, so I end up in hoodies and sweatshirts most of the time. And my sweaters aren't even branded, heck one is at least 5 or 6 years old (it was bought big).

I don't think it's fair to say you don't go out of your way to have a certain look. If someone replaced your entire wardrobe with formalwear, you wouldn't just throw on whatever is lying around. You do strive to look like your own self.

Mmm. I think everyone has their own style, whether they realize it or not. It doesn't have to be a conscious thing, but its determined by what you choose to wear, and what you choose to have available in your closet in the first place. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about sweater or shirt to throw on in the morning, but that's because I'm the one who picked them out in the first place, and they all look good. Sometimes I have something in mind and I go for that though. My closest didn't get stocked by me closing my eyes and running though a clothing store though (though I know people who seem to have done just that, but again its a conscious choice on their part to dress like that).

My own self, or at least what I think I project, is a general sense of indifference in my looks and a few other things. If I had a wardrobe of formal wear I would look through it more, if just to find the things that I wouldn't mind do regular things in.
