May the best Castle Wars player win! Mod Paul MRuneScape Community Management 14-Jun-2010 - Castle Wars Kill Streak Competition Result As youll no doubt know, this weekend we held the Castle Wars Kill Streak Competition. The idea was simple: kill as many opposing players in Castle Wars without dying. We were keeping track of the scores, so that the player with the most kills could be crowned the weekends champion of Castle Wars. As if that werent prize enough, the winner also wins 12 months of RuneScape membership and some exclusive signed/framed Castle Wars concept artwork! Its now Monday and the mayhem has subsided, and from the dust rises the Castle Wars Kill Streak Competition winner... GUNZ_BOSS! GUNZ_BOSS didnt hold back and managed to score a whopping 192 kills without dying! Impressive stuff indeed and Im sure youll all agree a worthy winner of our first kill streak competition. This was the first event of its kind and wed like to thank everybody for taking part and offering their feedback throughout the running of the competition. Once again, congratulations to GUNZ_BOSS and thanks for taking part! Until next time... Mod HohbeinRuneScape Community Management Looks interesting. Of course, I have no chance to win this kind of stuff, but some guys might be interested going out there maging with people supporting :] Edited June 14, 2010 by atestarossa

12pure34
Still it requires some team-effort. A Clan that is going to dominate a game and suicides themselves on a blood barraging mage. Soulsplit is nice, but how many prayer pots can you take ;) Either way, this WILL be fun.

Which can be confused to dungeoneering armour, the models are a little similar.

Danqazmlp
It sounds good except the concept art signed reward. I can almost guarantee this will not go to somebody who enjoys cw but somebody who is an incredibly rich manipulator/monster hunter who can afford the best gear. They will be trying for the free membership only and the other reward will be almost discarded. Even the top-line cwers will find it hard to win the event. I would much prefer an event in which the person who got the most scores over the weekend won or something castle wars only related. Want to be my friend? Sir_Squab
I wish this was something a more "average" person stood a chance of winning. What are the chances that it won't be an obscenely rich mage? Mugunge
Okay so whats stopping me from getting a few friends together just to build up my streak? Have 5+ people who will happily keep running to a corner of CW and just stand there while i ancient them, and a few high level players who will protect me from any real dangers. If i have 10 people helping me, i could offer to pay a months membership for all of them and still come out with 2 free months + exclusive artwork to possibly eBay. Im sure theres plenty of players with that amount of people willing to help them, especially if they get paid. The news posts and FAQ dont mention anything about this approach being against the rules and i doubt Jagex can keep accurate logs of who every single CW player kills during their streak, so it might just all come down to who has the highest number, no matter how they got it that high. RSBDavid
So basically the person who tanks and kills the most using the best gear gets a year of membership. They should provide people with the same armor to make it semi-fair. Good luck to any TIF'er who participates. Because after you consider how many times these people will die while running back, and how long it will take them to get there, a level 138 who runs around murdering level 40s all game long and running like a pansy from anything more dangerous will probably have a higher kill score? Also the fact that you won't be the only person trying this, and there will inevitably be a clan of decent size doing the same thing... and also that it's a hassle to get more than 5 people onto the same team anyways. :P Want to learn to Nex? mario_sunny
Once I get my predator I'm basically garanteed a chopper gunner (so long as some knifng lightweight/commando noob doesn't run past my claymores). So I'd say I'll at least get a 20 killstreak, depending on the map. No but in all seriousness tank mages can last for hundreds of kills. Those guys are beast. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( . DarkDude
I wonder if this is over multiple games or just one game? If it's one game then it's going to be whoever can get the most kills. Otherwise it's whoever can get a group of 5 friends with a bunch of bandages constantly healing you for the longest time all weekend.
Lemeja
You guys missed the part where it says it's held on the 5 castle wars worlds. Those worlds are usually packed anyway, but with this event it's going to be mayhem. I don't think grabbing some friends and taking them to a corner of the map will work. And all the rich magers will have OTHER rich magers competing with them.
Patr1ck
Time to spent a couple million on runes, this should be fun. Im not sure if soul split or Protect from melee would be better though. I'd say protect from melee as you have 20+ people constantly meleeing, and with soul split they have the potential to KO you before you get a chance to heal. I'm going to try both ways tbh, I cant wait.
Lep
How is this remotely fair? Zuriels staff and robes and a divine/elysian will win. These are the damn price manipulators too. So JaGeX is going to end up giving roughly 60$ for a price manipulator to stay in the game. Nice damn logic fail. They NEVER think. If any of you think anyone can win this, they can't. Not a chance in hell. Whoever can afford all of the amazing gear and thousands of miasmic barrages is going to win. I witnessed a game about a week ago and ONE person in tank mage gear such as veracs/ahrims was able to stop the entire defending part of the team inside their own base. That's like 30+ people he can tank by himself. This was with soul split and blood barrage and only casting miasmic barrage once. Considering that there's even better gear out there? And I'm willing to bet these people won't do it alone - they will do it with a friend or multiple friends. Now JaGeX is giving prizes to price manipulators how [bleep]ing awesome.
Tact
I don't know... With all the high powered players out there this weekend even a maxed tank mage may find it difficult to stay alive inside the enemy base for long. Tunnels might be a better place, or even catapulting the entire game.

Sir_Squab
Er, you can't bring potions into cwars can you? Because if you can't, you just need one ranger with a seercull to screw up the mage. One good spec, suddenly he can't do any barrage spells... Still, ultimately I still think the real winner will be an obscenely rich mage.... Squab unleashes Megiddo!
