As youll no doubt know, this weekend we held the Castle Wars Kill Streak Competition. The idea was simple: kill as many opposing players in Castle Wars without dying. We were keeping track of the scores, so that the player with the most kills could be crowned the weekends champion of Castle Wars. As if that werent prize enough, the winner also wins 12 months of RuneScape membership and some exclusive signed/framed Castle Wars concept artwork!

 

Its now Monday and the mayhem has subsided, and from the dust rises the Castle Wars Kill Streak Competition winner...

 

GUNZ_BOSS!

 

GUNZ_BOSS didnt hold back and managed to score a whopping 192 kills without dying! Impressive stuff indeed and Im sure youll all agree a worthy winner of our first kill streak competition.

 

This was the first event of its kind and wed like to thank everybody for taking part and offering their feedback throughout the running of the competition. Once again, congratulations to GUNZ_BOSS and thanks for taking part! Until next time...

Yup, a player with maxed combat, 99 herblore, and 81 Dungeoneering. I'm actually pretty impressed with his kills. Interested in how he did it.

2. wasnt realy a friend, just heard of him doing this off barraging

3. i said its sad how he got 188 because the whole 192 is so low, meaning only 5 more guys, maybe even 1 more good barrage would have done it but he was so close and failed

4. never said other guy wasnt legit, just saying yea this guy did it the real way and came so close

Im pretty sure that the event was only held on the Castle Wars Themed worlds, to ensure that each world would be MOBBED with people, thus ensuring that people could not camp with friends. Besides, you dont just have to kill people, you have to kill people and stay alive....

your correct that you cannot go to an empty world and sit there barragin friends however...

 

you can use say...5 friends on lunar healing/venging/spec transfering

 

you could have 10 friends using bandages on you etc

 

so yea friends can still help in other ways, not saying the winner did but its a possibility

 

even if he did, if u read my post a page or so back id have used friends spec transfering me to sol spec

 

also i think leech spec may be affected by #of things attacked so if you barrage 50 people you may get spec back faster than say, 1v1ing someone so this could help work around that, but yea id have used friends if i seriously wanted a shot to win so i dont blame him if he did, just sayin its possible

There is a MAJOR difference between getting 150+kills when you are the ONLY one doing so, and getting 150+ kills when EVERYONE, or a large number of people, are trying to do so.

Spec transfer doesnt work if the player is in combat I think. Remember them changing it to that a while ago.

 

Im just going to say congrats though. I didnt go to castle wars to see the carnage, but I doubt it was a walk in the park getting that many kills with alot of people doing the same.

I think they should have split it up between melee, Ranged, and Magic, since it was so obvious that the winner would have to use Magic. Oh but then they'd have to give out more prizes... :rolleyes:

Avg would be 9.6, almost 10 kills a minute. There's absolutely no way to get that many without barraging, even if you were meleeing with CLS, OVL, Turmoil. Don't even bring up Chinchompas; they pretty much suck for anything but training due to low-med hits and relative inaccuracy.

I think I'll be proud enough with my 20 kills normal meleeing. No spite though, that's just the way the contest was designed - many mages will enter, one will win.

Not enough real players on the two worlds to make 192 kills in 20 minutes even remotely sound legit.

Suprisingly dead.

Defintely going to chalk this one up to "killing my friends in front of their respawn room in the wee hours" :roll:

Out of curiosity, do you know the player who won the competition? Unless you do, you couldn't possibly know what their motives were for playing. Perhaps he/she does enjoy CW. And cocky? Where's the correlation between high levels and conceit? This contest was always going to go to a player over 130 combat. There was no question about that.

Saying that some guy you know did 188 in a LEGIT and REAL way is next to saying that the winner didn't. EVERYONE who participated did it in a legit way, there are no bugs anyone could have abused and thus everyone was on the same turf, and clearly, this guy was the best.

This is low... very low... Really dissapointed in the people who think money and skills fall out of trees for us 138s and that there are no 138s who actually love cw... Sore loser of the year lol...
