December 14, 201015 yr In the very beginning, clans fought in the Wilderness. There was no such thing as a clan wars arena. But that tradition changed after the PvP changes following the RWT update. This allowed wars to only be fought in the clan wars arena. But, that changed as PvP was re-introduced in a new system through a mini-game called Bounty Hunter and shortly after that, PvP/Bounty worlds. So, this gave two options: PvP or Clan Wars for your wars. Which one do you like better and why? I've always loved PvP myself. There are less restrictions, risk and a much larger map to fight in. It's just overall a lot more fun for me. Although a nice CWA fight is a nice break sometimes. Note: I'm referring to the two most common main war spots. So even though you can fight in Castle Wars or Stealing Creation, I didn't count them here.
December 14, 201015 yr CWA - Gives a non risk situation where you wont welfare and there isnt any limits on gear. PVP - Gear costs hold alot of clans back especially mid sized clans. Map is bigger though and therefore making for bigger wars
December 14, 201015 yr PVP for P2P as WG is much better at P2P than F2P atm and I'd be less likely to die. Also, there is none of the silly max bank fight with Vesta, Chaotic, etc. CWA for F2P as it's easier to have a cleaner fight (less competition for a warzone) and it's much more interesting when you can use the full range of gear as it's much more limited than P2P. With love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all.
December 14, 201015 yr For me, PvP is a more fun option. The battle area is huge, allowing you to choose from a much wider range of tactics in compared to the number of tactics you are capable of applying in CWA. It's more satisfying to tank off the enemies in PvP (except in GDZ though). You also gain something. It just satisfies people when they get loot. Also in PvP, you get elements such as surprise, hunting, being hunted, and ambush. If your clan happens to unexpectedly bump into another clan during a PK trip, it would turn into an intense battle. Clans also "hunt" other clans when they get word of them being out. When a clan finds out they're being hunted, they might set up an ambush. You don't get these types of things in CWA since all fights in CWA are usually planned, whether they're short prep or week-long prep. None of them are sudden encounters which turns into an intense fight. People don't like PvP because you have a risk of loosing your gear. Well, rune sets aren't that expensive tbh. Hell, even a poor pure f2p guy like me was able to afford it back when I still played. Retired on: June 30, 2010
December 14, 201015 yr PvP for sure, just because it allows for much more, and CWA just gets really boring. Crimson Raiders Forums | Crimson Raiders Runehead | Crimson Raiders FA Runehead§ Crimson Raiders Veteran | Ex Downfall Warlord | Ex Team Vendetta Council
December 14, 201015 yr I like both. I just wish I had a better computer to handle those clusters (which obv dont occur in CWA)

December 14, 201015 yr CWA hands down: virtually impossible to crash, clearly shows which clan is better (who can kill more in a CWRI instead of who can return most), gives a clear winner/loser everytime instead of just your opinion, much harder to break rules and you don't get food trading or calling crashers to help win/void a fight. December 15, 201015 yr Pvp. Just wish all the RSB clans would step out there as well. Proud BlacKnights Emeritius
December 15, 201015 yr CWA has it's advantages, but you can't beat the overall experience of pvp. I kind of like the fact that you can be crashed; it makes everything more exciting. I also like the fact that people can watch from up close. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti

December 15, 201015 yr pvp they should just remove cwa 2002 - 2003 RuneScape Classic Clans: Wild Dawgs (WD). Court of Dragons (CoD). BlacKnights (BK). Black Dragon Knights (BDK).2009 - 2010 RuneScape 2 Clan/Team: Hardly Dead (HD). Ex-Team Silent Ember (SE).~ Hmong Pride ~
December 15, 201015 yr If CWA wasn't a safe avenue and had better maps (ie more 'wilderness like') it wouldn't be so terrible, but until that day PvP will always trounce it. Having CWA as a safe way of clan interaction is completely against the game and is downright insulting to clans; because of it they have degraded clans, which are highly organized and well thought-out organizations, to mere minigame status. No thanks, we're not like Castlewars. (Yes my hands are up. Talking about runescape makes me angry, yo.)
December 15, 201015 yr PvP - CWA may be enjoyable but the amount of variety in PvP is far more appealing. Back in the CWA era, all we did was melee & binds. The opportunity for PK'ing in both F2P/P2P, deep/low Wilderness etc. make it very appealing. Proud Retired Council of The GladiatiorzClick here for our website - 110+ F2P Combat Requirements
December 15, 201015 yr Pvp easily, although the smaller scale matched options are a lot better in CWA When it comes to maps PvP is a lot better for huger scale fights and run-ins. Jagex could EASILY make some better CWA Maps though... Retired Dragonwood | Retired Impulse
December 15, 201015 yr Seems like a lot of people wouldn't mind CWA if they would add in more maps such as what they already war in at pvp. Warlord of Lethality, Member of Silent Ember

This explains my feelings pretty well. But PVP has massive advantages too and is very enjoyable. December 16, 201015 yr (who can kill more in a CWRI instead of who can return most) Wait, you just said the same thing for both scenarios since the only thing different between them is time, roughly only 30-45 second difference for the average person. And that's only because pvp has to hop to safely bank.
December 16, 201015 yr PvP, no question about it. CWA is pointless.. you have nothing to lose, and likewise, you're fighting for nothing. Tried liking it, but it bores the hell out of me. December 23, 201015 yr Not this kinda PVP after 08 lol.... PVP back in da day TBH. I can understand why people say CWA is better because no one will "crash", but if you think about it... it's a war... and when is there EVER a FAIR war? It's the wildy.... anything can and will happen... PVP but only if it was the old one. Sigma NU MOST Anticipated but still underrated Silent Ember
