March 6, 201115 yr During the last few weeks, there have been a lot of bots (I think) at the willow trees in Draynor, and it was very difficult to compete with them. However, the number of them seems to have gone down a lot in the last few days. So did I miss a mass ban or something? :-) I checked the RuneScape website but could find no mention of any such action. March 6, 201115 yr Possibly; Jagex hasn't announced things like that for a while now. Part of the Star Traks network. (^^Clicky!) Irony: An amnesiac rediscovering they have an eidetic memory.
March 6, 201115 yr Usually after an update, bots die down for a few days, and then start right back up. ~~~The Harpy List~~~Harpy Facts~~~It's Super Effective~~~The Beginning~~~Harpy Therapy Center~~~Alg~~~Jedi Harpy~~~Rohirrim~~~Attenuation~~~
March 6, 201115 yr Yeah, the bots seem to be thriving once again in the LRC after a small dip in frequency last week. "He could climb to it, if he climbed alone, and once there he could suck on the pap of life, gulp down the incomparable milk of wonder."
March 6, 201115 yr I haven't seen any recently but then again I haven't been to the botting spots. Botting will probably increase exponentially now that free trade is back. The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
March 6, 201115 yr Do Jagex announce mass banns? I'm pretty sure they do it quietly so that people don't think the only time they ban is when they announce. In any case, the last mass ban I can remember was for people abusing an enchant dragonstone bolt tips glitch. That was really just to highlight the jagex policy on bug abuse. I'm not an efficienado.

If you quote me please be sure to note that I'm extremely mad.
March 6, 201115 yr Nope. Same amount at LRC. Epic as hell sig ye got there Ontopic: After updates bots die down until their owners get around to setting them back up.Kinda like training hunter but irl
March 6, 201115 yr Why would you be friends with a botter? Gross. On either note, I don't think Jagex even really bans bots anymore. As long as they pay their monthly fees they don't seem to care like they used to. If they did they could take action against the sites ran by the creaters couldnt they?
March 6, 201115 yr by "his friend" he means himself. i'm admiring that unranked WC there brono you're somewhat wrong. he was 92 wc and got there within a week or so. his wc is now 10. my wc is 62, i cba training a useless skill at the moment...
March 6, 201115 yr by "his friend" he means himself. i'm admiring that unranked WC there bro That's probably just due to the excess of woodcutting bots outranking him. His adventurer's log shows he has level 62 woodcutting. Edit: Oops, I was too slow :P. Alphanos

So if your IRL friend of 10 years bots on RS you aren't going to be his friend anymore? Nice logic sir.

March 6, 201115 yr Jagex doesn't ban bots anymore. Last time they tried, 2007 and the dark ages of RuneScape happened. (Because all those botters were resorting to credit card fraud to keep going, or something, so the credit card companies threatened to take action directly against Jagex. Now Jagex lets bots exist, so bots no longer need credit card fraud to sustain themselves - everyone is happy.) Though it would make more sense for them to announce mass bans and ban like 200 accounts each time, to make it seem like they care. Right now it is obvious they don't, or are bluffing about their detection abilities at the least. You're being watched.

March 6, 201115 yr The bots just have to be re-scripted for the new log in screen and startup menu. It is a very simple task that will only take maybe a day or two for the bot programmers to fix.
March 7, 201115 yr I just saw a picture of Pest Control right after the update. It was pretty empty. Apparently a lot of people are botting PC. Ew. The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
