Been playing some dropzone, it's fun, but it's a shame that all the points you make in the score doesn't translate into XP.

 

Pretty sure it does.

If it does, please explain why I don't get 4k XP for the 4K points I sometimes get from holding the dropzone.

 

You don't get XP for holding the DZ, only for kills from what I know. That's what I don't really bother holding the DZ, but it's a game mode that's easy to get 40+ kills a game so it can still yield good XP.

I always thought it'd be fun if they had games like CTF/Dom except you couldn't kill or get rid of the enemy. You'd just use strategy and cap the flags. Except CTF wouldn't work so well.

I might not be the person you are quoting, but I'm almost that kind of player. I do look if there are enemies and kill them before going for the objective, but I'm a player that is extremely objective based. I have the most fun playing MW3 this way.

I usually play domination and try and keep two flags. So I'd say I'm a more kills based player but I do go for the objective when needed.

How many people here still prestige? I'm 5th and was planning to go all the way to 15th but I'm reconsidering. I have a lot of the pro perks already at level 67 and want gold camos for all the guns I use, but I don't want to lose all that when I prestige. Should I keep going or stop here?

 

Btw, the first 2 prestige tokens I used on double xp, the other 3 I used to unlock the PP90M1, the MP7, and the ACR 6.8.

Knifing (it's so screwed up and inconsistent it's really just worthless)

Shotguns (or at least their ability to one-shot kill from across the map)

Riot Shield (useless and just annoying in multiplayer)

All noobtubes (underbarrel and things like XM25)

Care package luck (I had a match where the enemy team had 2 care packages total, both were osprey gunners. A 4 killstreak with some luck doesn't deserve a 17 killstreak.)

 

Maybe more. Anyone agree that these things are overpowered/just don't belong in the game? They make gameplay unfair and frustrating...

I have fun playing the game as it is, but I agree on the knifing, it's really inconsistent, and it's quite rare I meet people using the Type 95.

 

I still prestige, I think it refreshes the game to restart once in a while. I don't really care about camos although gold camo is a bonus.

Type 95 needs to be toned down definitely.

Knifing just needs to be removed completely. You can be on a good streak and then some knifer will survive those shots you fire at him and knife you in the leg and ruins your streak.

Pump action (Model 1887, KSG 12 and SPAS 12) are fine; they have a drawback of waiting to fire again, in which time you can kill them. But the striker just makes me rage.

I don't mind riot shield, nobody uses it and you practically get free kills from people using it..

Take off rifle mounted and M320 GLM. Those are just stupid. Keep XM25-it's fun to use and can be very useful on a short range class. Instant kill if it's a direct hit (it has no arc so you can use it as a sniper) but 3-4 if it's not.

Care packages are irritating. Many a time I've been killed by a care packaged pave-low 2 minutes in. <_<

I think the M16 needs a boost more than the Type 95 needs a nerf. Also don't see many people using it (When I run it I'm usually the only one).

I don't see anything wrong with knifing, although I must admit it is rather annoying to lunge and miss completely with the added recovery time; it seems less reliable than in MW2 or MW.

No comment on the shotguns, either the patch hasn't hit PC yet or people don't use shotguns enough for me to observe this "sniping".

Nothing wrong with riot shields, it's not overpowered or anything.

Noobtubes are really garbage in this game (with the exception of the XM25) compared to MW2, I couldn't kill anything with the alloted 2 nades.

I agree with the care packages though, it should only give up to a 10 killstreak max.

Yes. I can't believe how many times I get on a good killstreak and because I'm doing well, it means someone else is doing bad so them, they go to final stand and spontaneously blow up and kill me. Also, stealth bombers. 14 kills isn't that hard to get. They shouldn't be a support killstreak because they only punish the other team, not support your team...

 

Also, when I said "riot shield" I just meant that so few people use it and it's so hard to get kills with that anyone who uses it can't be taken seriously. It's a clown's weapon. And about shotguns, I can understand how they're balanced out by being completely screwed long range, but if you're within 10m or so (exaggerated to across the map), it's a one shot kill when it really feels like you should be out of range.

 

edit: Akimbo. I know it was supposedly weakened recently, but I still feel like it can match up against good primary weapons when it's only a secondary. I'm fine with akimbo pistols, but akimbo machine pistols are still somewhat OP in my opinion.

Try using a shotgun and I doubt you'll think like that, they're inconsistent as [bleep]. I liked how the SPAS was in MW2.

Another thing: ballistic vests. I snipe 90% of the time I play multiplayer and I get enough hitmarkers as it is. I don't need some stupid vest to indirectly get me killed.

Wait, so you're complaining about getting free kills off 'clowns'? That's pretty screwed logic.

Jesus, until you get damage, you get enough hitmarkers as it is with shotguns. My K/D goes down by .1 every time I get it up to 27 (damage). Usually I don't care, but it's a testament to inconsistency.

Akimbo is one of the most irritating aspects of this game. The amount of times I've been on a nice streak to be gunned down by FMG9s has annoyed me to the point of using them myself-If you can't beat 'em join 'em. If they buffed the other secondaries (excluding launchers) it'd be so much better IMO.

Like one time, I was in a bout with one for literally about 30 seconds because every time I'd try to shoot him or knife, he'd somehow turn just fast enough that I'd miss. I did end up killing him, but I was completely distracted and therefore vulnerable for those 30 seconds.

 

I've tried shotguns before (namely the striker :shame:, but I do sometimes use the spas or model). I did get a lot of hitmarkers until damage, but it just seems like anytime I run into someone with a shotgun, they make some ridiculous shot (and they always jump for some reason, which seems to make them invincible...).

 

As for akimbo, I don't use it because I always use the stinger to shoot down air support. Most teammates are always too stupid to do that, so I have to (and I get a free "kill" out of it).

Oh, and one more thing.

INFINITY WARD, FIX THE [bleep]ING SPAWN SYSTEM. I just played a match where I died 11 times in a row because I'd spawn, run 2 steps and get knifed in the back. That really shouldn't happen. It's [bleep]ing terrible.

I have to agree with you, I hate when people Riot Shield toss a C4 and blow you up. And the reason I become frustrated is I don't understand how the game is fun when doing that. Just like people using Javelins or RPG's for 10 games in a row for all their kills, how is that even fun to you?

 

I ran around for a game with the Striker, with vertical grip, kick, and steady aim. That thing is ridiculous, no recoil whatsoever, just hip fire the whole time. I don't find that fun at all.

 

And thank you for being smart, I generally always have a stinger secondary except on my sniper class, as I like to have some weapon I can switch to when I'm moving positions on the map. It's amazing in Drop Zone when you can instantly blow up everyones care packages, and I love it in other playlists as I'm a Specialist Package user, and I like that it adds to my killstreak.

Well, for some reason, people care a lot about their k/d so they'll do everything possible to get kills. If that means having no fun at all camping in a corner with a type 95 and assassin, then they'll do that. People that play this game fool themselves into thinking that having a high k/d means they're having fun.

Underground on the staircase near A flag. Sit behind the cleaning equipment at one end and they constantly spawn in front of you. I admit, I'll do it when I'm 1-2 kills off a reward.
