Now now play nice guys. Matt does have a point though, the US does have a TON of conventions. =P

US is just so expensive but I would love to visit there. Rather have RuneFest in UK though because I'm more prepared in the money department.

Oh boy, four locations I would never travel to  . Maybe if it were held in Michigan, Ohio, or western Pennsylvania I'd go, so I'm not going to bother voting. Also, it's more like 300m US + 35m Canada vs. 700m Europe, not just 60m UK, so London will likely win.

Player since 2004. All skills 1M+ XP.

But which of those populations has the greatest concentration of rs players? Pure population isn't the main point here, it's sheer amount and location of rs players.

UK had runefest 2 times already, yet the player base from UK is small. Time to give other countries a chance.

Uggh, don't be selfish, British players! You already had it twice in a row, give us 'Murrikans a chance!

U-S-A! U-S-A!

Selfish... perhaps. But then here in the UK we don't have TemleCon or Total Confusion or ConnCon, Intercon, Havoc, Vericon, Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) East, OGC, Huzzah, Carnage, DexCon, Fall In!, Historicon, I-CON, MEPACon, PrinceCon, UberCon, World Boardgaming Championships, Arcon, Council of Five Nations, Queen City Conquest, A&G Ohio, Bashcon, Con on the Cob, D&D Experience, Games Day, Gaming Hoopla, Gary Con, Geek.Kon, Gen Con, Marcon, Marmalade Dog, MichiCon, Origins Game Fair, Penguicon, PentaCon, StarCon, U-Con, WinterCon, Winter War, Wolfcon, Masquerade Society, Gamicon, Fields of Honor, Nuke, Con of the North, Gamer's Reunion, Bayou Wars, CharCon, Con Carolinas, DragonCon, Euro Quest (EQ), Heat of Battle, MACE, Mini MACE, MAGFest, MegaCon, Momocon, PeliCon, [southern Front], Stellarcon, SynDCon, Trinoc*con, Waterloo, Winter Activation Meeting (WAM), CoastCon, Hypericon, MidSouthCon, MOBICON, Tennessee Game Days, Chattacon, PlayOnCon, [gamecon Memphis], Texicon [1] General Gaming Convention, ScrewAttack Gaming Convention (SGC), BGG.CON, TrollCon, Phoenix Vul, GEEX Show, NeonCon, BlizzCon, DunDraCon, Celesticon, E For All, Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), GameStorm, Games Day, Gamex, Gateway, Kublacon, Enfilade, MineCon, Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show, OrcCon, [Pacificon Game Expo], Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) Prime, RadCon, Science Fiction and Fandom Convention or Pasco...

Nice copy paste. Like you care or have any idea what most of those are.

Took a lot of effort stripping out the cities they were in and removing them out of bullet points into a comma'd list.

How do you know what the player base in the UK is? Do you have access to the Jagex client list? What about other European players, they are even further from the USA?

And it ignores the fact of language barriers and international travel for a minor laws that restrict european travel. Plus international travel is more expensive than domestic. All of US can be traversed reasonably cheaply as its all domestic. Traversing europe is likely to cost more (unless you drive it but then petrol costs!) as its international travel.

I mean we had a college trip to France/Belgium front lines staying in a youth hostle, 2 nights using the eurostar (on a coach) and we had to pay like £255 EACH and thats with college subsidising it as its educational.

I don't know, I only have data for Tip.It :shades: . Just counting those from North America and Europe, not Australia/NZ, about 62.5% of active TIFers (from 92/298 replies) are from North America.

If it were in NY next year then I might consider it, anywhere else just isn't an option for me sadly.

Same here, and even NYC would be a stretch on the old budget.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

There are whole communities outside of Tip.it on their own websites from people all over the world. The fact that pre bot nuke there were dedicated worlds for so many European countries surely should prove that there is a huge player base outside of the USA.

I wouldn't argue with that. I'm not arguing for the USA (or anyone else) here, if that's how I'm coming off. RuneFest wouldn't be my cup of tea to begin with, even though Chicago is only 5 hours away (by driving) from me (and even that would be too far). My waning interest in RS is the only real issue for me.

None of the locations get my vote. They're all too far away for the expense to be worth it. Now if it was held in D.C., then I can go.

Given how much Jagex is like a group of politicians I'd say this fits. :ugeek:

Really? No Australia? you suck Jagex.

The US is bad enough. Why would anyone want to fly 40 hours to go from one small, dinky island to one giant, dinky island? :P

Meh to all the choices.

They should just take an antipodal approach and have the thing in New Zealand. They could capitalize on the Middle Earth tourism industry down there and have a blowout festival.

So many here forgetting the reset of Europe, omg not everyone who plays on this side of the world are in the UK.

I agree that we have had it 2 years now, and maybe it is time for US to get and chance. (all those events that have been posted that happen in the us, we do have plenty of similar happenings in Europe, example dream hack, the WORLDS larges digital festival that is being held in Sweden 2 times every year)

That aside, I voted for Londong, as i have already stated, I realywant to go next year, but im not going to a America for it. would even be more interested if it was in Africa (ore south america :ohnoes: ), getting to see something else than city after and before the feast X)

edit: NY in the lead, if ure supriced, err consider that when the poll got posted, it was in the midle of the night for the guys over there, or morning depends on where in the us :S
