999134
Good, now take down the big clans. Some people might know I did try flower gaming with a top clan (got a free rank because of efame, horay) for a time with the best of intentions, and I can tell you all of the top guys that run it are cancer. None of them have an interest above profiting in the game, and discussions are regularly held on best ways to rwt, best ways to part newbs with cash(real life as well as rs gold) and other either immoral or downright illegal stuff. The good side if you care, is that a lot of these guys are wasting their real life cash they make from the clans lol, was as common to hear people complaining about losing bit coins as losing runescape gold. It is amazing how gambling addition works, the same guys organizing addicting games to take runescape gp, then go lose it to casinos. There are NO positive effects to flower gaming, banning everyone involved would be a good step, save a lot of the betters real life money (hilarious cycle of losing cash to hosts, then buying it back) and remove the scum, "legit" hosts would be positive collateral damage. 2 Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod![hide=old sig][/hide]
Estoc
I host for the rush, because even with our host odds, we still can take billion coin hits in one bet. Gambling is an outlet for people to get the high risk/high reward adrenaline rush they seek. No different than staking. Only thing with gambling is no stats are needed so people can jump right in rather than training for months to max before they can stake. That's a nice way to word it, but you could get the same risk/reward scenario by playing 50/50 odds. The only reason to give yourself an advantage is because you want to make money off of it, and while not wrong by itself, the way you go about it involves tapping off of someone's inability to control themselves. In a way this is actually worse than a scam. While someone who was stupid enough to send his money to a Nigerian prince might wise up and not repeat the incident, gambling leaves the victim begging for more. 2 From the empty days of hope, deny the darknessFollow my voice, we'll run far away from hereIf only to hide, to escape this lifeAnd live forever, forever in the sun

Vann
To repeat what I said on the BTS thread: [hide=My Idea on changing gambling] "I would love to see gambling change to poker (Texas hold'em, Omaha, Stud). Would make it a game of skill without requiring the stats of Staking. And it would be a money dump with the rake taken from every hand/tourney entry/SnG entry. A rake of ~10% on tourneys and such and a % up to a max rake on "cash games". Also, this would be a legal gambling method Jagex could implement. Would be no different than Zynga poker on Facebook. (Which plans on offering real money this year in the UK) Example:This past weekend PokerStars had their Sunday Millions. It had a ~9.5M prize pool with ~1.2M to first.... PokerStars made $740K in rake off of this. So even if its a small amount of rake, it adds up to help remove gp from the game in ways that BH, Con, etc. do."[/hide] As much as I do enjoy flower gaming, if jagex were to make it bannable or place their own version in then I would stop. As I've stated before, I don't want my account banned. Especially when I've not broken any rules. Personally I've only made like 100M since 2007 released because I enjoy the game. I'd rather play 2007 than gamble. And this is a growing trend with my friends in the gambling community. The only reason I'm so upset with this "hidden update" is the fact that there was no post about it and they are muting without warning. That is unfair and you can't say that it's not. @Krampell. I looked at the rules and don't see anywhere where it is offensive language mentioning flowers. Can you please post a picture? Peace,Vann
Kimberly
@Krampell. I looked at the rules and don't see anywhere where it is offensive language mentioning flowers. Can you please post a picture? Flooding the chat is considered offensive language, which is technically what hosts do when they do the h/c x2 styled spam. Allegedly though you claim you were banned for saying you were a rank. Maybe you'd want to check and see if you spammed your game's description before or after saying you were a rank before being certain that it was the reason for your mute. Krampell
Jagex has already said that they don't want to introduce gambing to the game because of all the potential of kids getting addicted to it.Loads of games have the problem.
Tansuo
@Vann you don't get it. Ginger_Warrior
Regardless of somebody's personality or attitude, you cannot punish people for rules which do not exist. Had Jagex made this illegal already, I'd be completely behind them. But muting people for this right now is wholly unjust. 12 | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

Dracae
I am totally against gambling on a game that allows kids to be part of its player base, if there would only be adults I would still loath it but less outraged. It is great to see Jagex taking action.. however.. they need to be fair. After having allowed this sort of thing for ages they need to make very clear that their opinion has changed, so everyone has a chance to stop, before getting busted.
Vann
@Kramp/Tansuo- I know jagex stated in the past they don't want gambling but this months BTS said they were bringing in a poll to see about bringing "safe" gambling. And honestly I'm ok with this, even tho it will kill my "easy" income. @Thus- I have only made 100M since the 2007 release because I have been playing 2007 and have stopped gambling. I only log on EoC for spins every night. I haven't taken a bet in over a week. P.S. I hope you didn't hurt your face. Desks can be hard. @Kim- I looked at it and all that happened was me having a non-gambling related conversation with someone then mentioning I was a General in Flowers to someone else asking who was hosting. Never said open for any games as I was only on to do my daily spins. Peace,Vann

Sorry I make more standing at the GE for an hour than you do Nexing an entire weekend. I host for the rush, because even with our host odds, we still can take billion coin hits in one bet. Sorry but you've just stated exactly why you ruin the game. Creating that amount of gp within an hour of work is ridiculous. It requires no effort on either side and the ultimate reason you do it can only be to heighten either a) your own internet ego (or irl one, if you're so addicted) or b) to rwt it. Why the else would you need to gain so much gp? If you say because of the community - forget it. The only community in gambling is that of the rwters. They get happy because they make gp in the game that they can then ferry off to pay for stuff outside the game. People like FIshy are the prime examples of this. Sorry to say it, but you strike me to be the exact same person. Gambling is an outlet for people to get the high risk/high reward adrenaline rush they seek. No different than staking. Only thing with gambling is no stats are needed so people can jump right in rather than training for months to max before they can stake. It is different to staking. Staking can require skill and practice - especially now with EoC. Perhaps if you left the GE and gave EoC a chance you might understand this. Continue to flame me and I'll just report your posts. I am entitled to my opinion, especially since I have been directly affected by this "hidden update" and this ruins my enjoyment within the game. Yes that you are, but refrain from accusing us of flaming. We're entitled to our own opinions too. kamil1210
And why gambling is bad?- it doesn't create items/gp: no inflation- hosters can rwt - they can also rwt nex loot- gamblers doesn't play the game correctly - if someone enjoy game, he play correctly (why you want limit other players fun?)- hosters earn too much gp/h - where do you want put limit for gp/h and ban all method that allow break that border?- it doesn't require any real skills - wc/fish and some other afk in game skillis also doesn't require any skill, ekhem, castle wars loafing, ekhem.- it doesn't require any in game skills - collecting many items and some quests also doesn't require any in game skill- it is agains't game spirit - this is huge open world game with milions different players and game spirit is different for everybody I don't gamble. i'm not host. I understand why people gamble and I don't want limit other players. They can do everything they want with their pixels.
