You'll get way more steel than chimes (if you buy Pincers crew when possible), I'm at 50k steel and I can't buy even a single crew :(. My tiger is +2500 combat now though, that's nice.

worth it to work on maxing out a crew now that jagex has confirmed they're working on new ports regions/crew/captains? Or should we just save up some steel for the next tier building upgrades that should come with.

 

I cannot understand how can you even think about saving up port resources. They are so easy to come by in large quantities and do not serve much purpose.

 

On the other hand, I'd start saving (I already did personally) trade resources if I were you.

inb4 new trade resources to make hybrid armor that doesn't do shit

 

Actually my hopes are in new trade goods that upgrade your existing superior armor to tier 9 power armor (defense boost stays the same but we get damage bonus. I just hit the pincers today so fingers crossed that I can get enough for at least some of the superior armor pieces before the update.

You'd presume that resources would now make pop armour gloves/boots, as there are spaces upon the scroll page of the POP interface sections that hint so.

Also, we still haven't got Shark Soups.

But we already have t85 gloves and boots. I know jagex are dumb but hopefully not *that* dumb :P

 

Then again they did essentially duplicate the ahrims wand by releasing treachery. I think multiple new uses for spices would be top of my list for pop, I'm not too sure what can be done armour-wise if they want to stick to t85... Shield maybe?

T85 weapons?

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

A tier 85 defender could fill a niche I guess too. I think current defenders don't give access to shield abilities though, which it'd probably need to be anywhere near semi-useful.

 

With Mage/range equivalents, iunno what you'd wanna call them.

I wish they'd just restore the old ancient magic spell names, longbows etc. because all this compulsive complicated name crap is annoying... but that aside.

 

I don't think ports will produce weapons, but it might produce t85 shields and I could see t85 defenders. But they definitely need shield & dw abilities. Magic defenders would just be deflector orbs or something, ranged defenders would be... the closest thing IRL would be something like an anti-missile missile system. But yeah. Maybe something like an quiver slash shield for faster reloads?

If they buff shields they should increase both corps strength and the drop rate. Put them on par with nex items in terms of obtainablitiy, but make corp significantly more difficult.

Has it been mentioned before on here that your chimes roll back to exactly 200k after each reset if you surpass that amount? I haven't read his page everyday for a 150 pages back or so, so forgive me if it has. This is a concern of mine if Jagex really plans to update ports. Can I have back the chimes I earned to spend on future purchases? I'd have nearly 300k by now I'm sure.

They are capped and reset to the capped amount I think at 00:00 GMT. I doubt that they are saved because of the cap.

I have just returned after a break of a few weeks. Can someone give me a recap on what's the latest tally on how PoP armours and Nex armours currently compare? Which is better overall? Which is better for bosses? Is one better than the other for all bosses, or does the specific boss make a difference? When I left, things were looking dire for PoP armours, as they were constantly tweaking armours to give Nex an edge.

 

Thanks, it'd be greatly appreciated.

nex armors have damage bonus, everybody shits their pants over that

 

pop armors are technically good but nobody uses them because they're too busy shitting their pants to care if the pants that they're shitting in are of a lower quality

 

jagex continues to prove that armors with damage bonuses are a bad idea despite trying to escape it but being dragged down by the players i hate the most

^It's not so much people being over-dramatic as you suggest.

 

It's simply the way the game is:

Nothing currently in game really NEEDS a lot of defence and lp.

Therefore the extra defence given by port armours etc. don't provide any actual benefit over the slightly lower ones on nex or gwd armour.

Conversely the damage boost on nex and gwd armour DOES provide a tangible benefit to all weapons and all situations.

Please tell us then what suggestion. Just saying you made a suggestion and then not telling what suggestion it is, isn't helping.
