@Veiva

Say a voyage requires 2400 seafaring and 2400 combat.

Store crew members into three arrays. One for each style. Crew members with more than one trait get stored in multiple arrays. For example, seafaring[0].value = 300 and seafaring[0].name = "Eastern Guide 1" etc. Any special traits should also be stored this way.

Sort each of these three by value (highest to lowest is what I would prefer, but you can do it the other way). I'm not sure if javascript will keep the name with the right value after sorting. I guess it depends on your algorithm.

Then do a while loop that continues as long as the necessary value is > 0. Each iteration will subtract seafaring from 2400. Break it if more than 5 crew members are picked. Apply any special traits as necessary.

When the remaining seafaring value is less than 0, run through the other 2 arrays to make sure none of the picked crew members have a combat level. If they do, subtract it from combat.

Repeat the loop except with combat this time. Break it after combat reaches 0 or 5-#ofseafaringloops iterations.

Unless I overlooked something, that should solve it every time.

I can clarify anything if you need me to. Good luck.

First joint mission I've had.

I'm more interested in the "flying squid" in the joint debrief.

Well after I will. The issue is that I don't want to xp waste and I'm either doing trim reqs between voyages or want to get xp. I feel that having the workshop might be interesting for when I'm waiting for voyages to return. Also I feel there is a good chance for this to go bust and it to only offer xp boosts to creating things using trade goods and not skilling in general.

How do you add traits to captain? Or they come with that bunch of traits?

By having them as the captain on that voyage.

How do you know what voyages give traits?

The reward is a captain trait. It shows a little captain's hat.

Well keep in mind the special missions are 2.5 to 3.5 hours each as well. And there's 6 of them. And I have to sleep for at least 8 hours :P

For today, for example:

6pm: 2 special missions (3.5 hours ea)

9:30pm: 2 special missions (2.5 hours ea)

Midnight: 2 special missions (2.5 hours ea)

-sleep-

8am: 2 missions (2.5 hours ea)

10:30am: ditto

1pm: ditto

3:30pm: ditto

6pm: ditto

Still unable to complete the last two missions. And also keep in mind you're probably going to fail more missions if you do 2 at a time

Last I check 24/2 = 12 if you had to run 1 at a time. I very rarely if ever run just one.

Last time I checked, people don't stay awake for 24 hours a day. ;)

70% to the Hook, still probably won't get it today though. :<

You can do 2 specials per day so that's irrelevant. We are now at 14 missions total. That's seven hours. One when you get up possibly a second before school/work depending on timing. And easily 4 sets after work/ school that's 5-6 which is 10-12/14. And that's assuming you can't find five minutes in the middle of the day to queue up another set.

Yeah that sounds like too much work. I'm buying a 3rd ship. :D

It's not just a job, it's an adventure! :P

I'm not saying 3 ships is bad. Just that you better invest in some boat/ crew or your just going to have a third mission that can fail.

One way to maybe get an extra set of voyages in is to do your special missions right before going to bed, since they take the most time. It might not make a difference depending on your schedule, but once we get to the point where it takes a few hours more for special missions, it will definitely help.

Right now from my observations all of the hook voyages I've gotten have been highly manageable with my current crew. I'm not concerned with buying better crew yet, but it'll come soon after.

The difficulty for my voyages went way up, 6500 single stat requirements, 3500 all-round requirements (chimeras) etc. which you definitely can't get more than ~60% on with Skull crew and ship parts. And I just had to pay ~500 gunpowder for repairs because I failed a mission at 73% (which is not in the 'heavy consequences' zone), so that 60% is a pretty big risk.

In other news, 80 more slate and I got myself a nice new hull ^^.

The Port Score formula could be:

1 point for every 5000 distance travelled

50 points per adventurer met

20 points per story mission done

10 points per port upgrade bought

5 points per ship upgrade bought

3 points per scroll found

10 + 300 + 140 + 50 + 105 + 6 = 611, my score, matching my statistics.

Special thanks to Aielman & to everyone who gave me their scores :).

One of my crew died and the ship got destroyed at 85%. Heavy consequences zone is irrelevant sometimes.

Imagine what it would've been at 40% :P.

Just recruited a new crew member with the trait "pilferer". The description says "reduces chance of partial mission success". I guess that means higher chance of not failing?

Actually sounds more like the crew member would steal the partial mission reward. But that's just because it's called pilferer. Might be exactly what you said :P
