I'm pretty sure you can just wait in the room before Nex's Prison and wait for the team inside to get an item, then jump in and scoop up the lore book. That's how I got mine bc lazy (and everyone was using their deathtouched darts).

Claim enhanced fire cape - ew   I don't wanna give up my three useful combat capes for a sucky override just to trim quest cape.   Enhanced fire cape isn't even really quest related, sure beat the Kil

They probably skipped trim because it doesn't make sense. Capes are trimmed by doing something completely unrelated. You don't trim a cooking cape by cooking, you trim a cooking cape by getting 99 in some other skill. So a Trimmed Quest Cape would come from a Taskmaster Cape or something similar. So, they skipped trim, but the next cape up is Mastery, and with regular quest cape already at 41m, they figured Quest Mastery needed to be a lot higher.

Also, to be fair, a lot of proposals for trimmed quest cape previously included journals and/or all books. Its not like these reqs came out of nowhere. Once Manti made it clear that Miniquests,Quest, and Postquest stuff wouldn't be enough we had to figure out what stuff could be closely related.

Yes, but the Quest Cape has always been unique and didn't need to follow the same rules. It never has before.

Point is, it's not a quest cape anymore. So let's drop the name and concept and recognize it for what it is now, essentially a Lore Cape.

There are plenty of Post-Quest things on there that aren't related to Lore. I wouldn't mind a name change, but Lore Cape wouldn't fit because quite a few of the reqs are not lore.

Quests = lore, though.

There is very little lore not released via quests.

This took a hard left away from quests when they went for lore books. They've taken the level of the cape too high, had to add many tasks to justify it being that level, and are basically making a catch all lore cape. Now it has bossing, RNG and non quest activities. So either call it Comp-Lite or Master Lore Cape or whatever.

This is one of the problems with including community input: it gets over thought, over analyzed, over worked, over done until everyone is dissatisfied because it's not what they want and they think it should be because they had a hand in development.

I'm going with Master Adventurer Cape. Just a guess.

Latest update:

- Completing all 4 PoP storylines would be a requirement as they fit the current guidelines.

-> Quin story (story spoilers ahead)

[hide]has implications for an Elder Artefact and the governance of Wushanko.[/hide]

-> Hyu-Ji and Eastern Curiosities - Offer unique and rich storylines of their own.

-> Guardians of the world (spoilers)

[hide]implications on the Anima Mundi.[/hide]

- The Gu outfit will not be included as it is a post-PoP reward that requires clue voyages which are not directly tied to lore.

- The cape would not be renamed. A master cape is going above and beyond the requirements of a standard skillcape and having guidelines in place is what defines it.

- The cape would not have any special stats nor abilities, this is due to the cape being a master cape which shows dedication beyond a skillcape.

- The chompy bird requirement is being excluded as an exception. Whilst it does fit the guidelines to an extent it does not actually offer much of an expansion in terms of the post-quest activity nor lore.[/hide]

To be fair, The Journals were all added because Manti decided they should be. The original Guidelines the community had only had journals that were post-quest content or were reqs for quests/miniquests/etc. Then Manti came in and said "I really think we should add the other 3 QBD Journals and some of the Dungeoneering Journals." I said there was really no way to justify only putting on those few journals but not all the others, so probably better to leave them all off, because the alternative was putting all the journals on the cape. Then the next revised Guidelines that Manti mention added "Story-Oriented Content" and added a crapload of lore stuff. Once that was on there, the community wanted to make sure that the reqs were complete. So, Manti made the Guideline that the community didn't have, and we just made sure that if the Guideline was staying then the reqs actually matched them.

A master quest cape in concept is honestly a real nasty hairball. With so many quests under the quest cape itself you can't honestly expect the master quest cape to be a stones throw from the initial quest cape achievement. But then again it looks to potentially be the case where one party of the other is going to short change the requirements.

So what is the 113 DG requirement for?

Wtf. So much for ever getting this cape. I'll be lucky to get 99

So what is the 113 DG requirement for?

Unless it changes, the req will probably be 117 dunge for Chronicles of Bilrach

So this is turning into an "almost-comp cape"

Except a lot of the reqs aren't stuff that is also required for comp. In fact the req you dislike (the dunge journals) is one that isn't required for comp. Quest Cape alone required 41m exp, I don't think its that surprising that boosting Quest Cape to a Mastery would end up with really high requirements.

It's a cape for wannabe trimmers. I've no interest in it whatsoever.

It's become the Comp-Lite like I said. Further evidenced by the inclusion of PoP, which is a nice bit of content, but has nothing to do with quests.

The shark has been jumped on this cape.

Manti swiped hard left when it came to deciding on rationale things to include. I feel as if 70% of the people making suggestions are already maxed/comped/trimmed, and the other 30% are just barely getting their voices in, and that's why things are slowly changing

Now I'm not claiming those percentages are correct, just my opinion. Also no, I haven't visited the thread where this is taking place. This is just my opinion

comp requires 120 dg so yeah, it kinda requires 117 dg, just not the journals.

Manti going hard on the 41m x 8 = 328m XP worth of reqs lol

Yea, I was ok when we had come up with guidelines that included nearly no lorebooks and came out to 145m or so exp when we figured out all the reqs that would match them. Which is like 100m more exp than Quest Cape which if you went by pure addition was about right for a Mastery Cape. But it seem Manti and Osborne and whoever else figured going above and beyond Questing required more, so they added a Story-Oriented Content Guideline and it seemed pretty obvious they were adamant about keeping that. So, going by that guideline we brainstormed other things to add and stuff like Ports is clearly Story-Oriented content. I would have been fine keeping the journals and stuff off the cape, but if the Guidelines are going to include "all story-oriented content" then I want the reqs to match that.

I can understand their point though when they say that going above and beyond for questing is completing all Story-Oriented content. Story-Oriented content is basically what quests are, so if you expand on that you get stuff like sagas, ports, journals, etc. I mean the content isn't directly quests, but the only thing that is directly quests is quests themselves. So I could see this type of content as continuing in the spirit of questing.

117 dung? Can we exchange that with the chompies req please? Not really a fan to see that, even though I love dungeoneering...

Yeah, but sorry, those aren't quests. They're not in any way related to quests. If what you said is fact, then it truly is just a lore cape.

Yeah I feel when the reqs have become less about completing all quests and their related post-quest content and more about simply completing/collecting anything and everything with any iota of story to it this project is not really a master quest cape anymore.

It is a completely separate entity that shouldn't be linked to the quest cape in name because it's not really a quest cape.

Calling this a 'Master Quest Cape' would be like calling the Completionist the 'Master Maxed Cape' - it's called completionist because its not just about going above and beyond on skilling from the 99s of max, its about doing a whole bunch of other non-skill stuff.

^I have to agree, this is no master quest cape this is a completionist quest cape. I could live with level 90 reqs, and even with livid farm. But bossing, lots of RNG (1/1000 chance does not seem small to me), 117 dungeoneering and probably other things I missed... I honestly liked the first reqs better...
