Yet Another "How do u pronounce..."

Well, after the long and highly debated pronounciation of ardougne, i was talking with a few friends about this, and "myreque" has come to be debated...I say: My-er-que. 2 friends say: My-wreck. Last 2 friends say my-reek. I remain the only one out of my friends who pronounces it as i do...post how u pronounce it, maybe we'll get some different ones.

Well i never really say it out loud, so i don't pronounce it, as such, it just sort of appears in my head.

Thinking about it though, i suppose i also would pronounce it "Myre-reek", although i'm guessing the correct way is to pronounce it as it would be pronounced in French. Same with Ardougne really though. Sounds kinda French.

Currently P2P.

I don't want the world to see me, 'cause I don't think that they'd understand.

Rofl, i think that jagex puts wired names in the game just to confuse us  But, it dosent really matter, cus not alot of ppl talk about these kinds of things irl (i hope  )

I don't think they do it to confuze us. most of the things they use are axctually places or things or types of animal etc. They dont just make it all up.

my-re-que

 . Shows how effective a typed up pronunciation is.

I don't really see how there's any confusion though 'cause unlike Ardo this term has a fairly solid pronunciation, perfect pronunciation if you ignore the hicks  . Its simple "Mir-reck"

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

My tendency when confronted with a Jagex name is to ask a native Brit, since Jagex is based there. But I would have assumed that Ar-doyne (the official Jagex pronunciation, I believe) is a Brit pronunciation, rather than French - I assume you know better (we Americans tend to be clueless about most foreign languages, sadly - often including English, lol!)

I instinctively pronounced this My-reek myself.

But then again, I thought Worcestershire should have every syllable pronounced, and was quite embarassed when I learned it was "Worst-er-shure". So don't listen to me, heh heh!

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

my-re-que

that makes two of us  for the person who said my-re-cue, it made me laugh...For those who take latin here, you'll know that the suffix "que" is added onto a word to make and. When i first learned it, i was tired and translated it as "q"....The teacher who was hilareous, made "how does (me) pronounce "que" on a test...Just an analogy that has nothing to do with the topic. But thus, this is why i call it "my-re-que", because i've learned from my mistake, knowing that que is not q, but que.
