England didn't deserve to win, it could have easily been a draw. They need to really pick up their skills if they want a chance of surviving the final 16.

They deserved to win, simple as that. We created about five clear cut chances, and on another day, it could have been a big scoreline. But T&T held out well, and England always do it the hard way.

England are just warming up, I still think they'll win it.

Yeh they had some good chances and they missed them, that means they were incompetent, they didn't deserve to win if they missed all those chances obviously. If I almost kill you it doesn't make you dead does it?

Darn it, I forgot this is my last year supporting England for awhile. I promised to everyone I knew I wouldn't support England if Steve 'Hapless' McClaren got the job after Sven. He did.

Oh well, I might go with Italy. I like their match fixing policy.

So if a team miss a lot of good chances they don't deserve to win?

Well obviosuly because they missed them. It doesn't matter if a team has a million chances and the other has three. If neither score they both get the one point. It seemed to be going that way for England for the first 80 minutes

That's only in Serie A :P. Italy always have the nicest kits, too.

Everybody congratulate me, I finally set up my TV so I can watch World Cup Soccer!

I watched all but the first twenty minutes of the England vs T&T match, and I have to say, England didn't do as bad as people are saying they did. Obviously there were long stretches of the game where they were letting T&T walk all over them (and stiffer competition would have crushed them), but towards the end of the first half they started pulling it together. During the last quarter, England seemed to be controlling play 99% of the time. I think if they keep that energy and concentration, they will be able to beat much better competition.

Congrats to T&T anyway, they played really well and had some awesome plays.

Throughout this week in the Australian Media they have brain washed us into believing Australia can be Brazil. Recent quotes by other international managers reckon that Australia can 'beat' Brazil.

Australian football has come a long way over the past few months but i reckon guus would be happy with a draw.

Is anyone else predicting a 4-0 or 3-0 blowout?

I know i am

It took them 80 minutes to open the score against a team you normally only play against to boost your goal saldo. Their first run-in with a proper team, either Sweden in the final group round or someone else in the finals will quickly crack the surface.

Holland vs. Ivory Coast tonight. If we win we're certain of qualification and the match against Argentina will only be for the statistics, if we lose we'll have to go all-out in the final round and hope Ivory Coast doesn't win their third match too, pretty much the same for when its a draw.

I believe were not going to see the English in the finals, they just lack motivation, it's as if they're looking ahead, T&T ALMOST caught them off guard. It was almost all T&T till Rooney subbed in, then the tide turned. T&T should have won that game, the English don't deserve to win if they're not motivated.
