You know, I bet Satanism would go over much better if they named it something else :P

I agree.

I'm still scanning this thread to find someone with results similar to mine. :D

Yeah, but the problem is 'they' aren't the ones that are into Satanism. They are the people who disliked those people and named them worshippers of Satan. It has little to do with Satan actually; the religion focusses on the person itself, less than the common good or the group. I more or less agree, because, after all, we need to survive, but I think I'd rather be dead if there weren't any feelings between people.

I've already found my soulmate in LP, though he's slightly more radical :)

You scored as Satanism.

Your beliefs most closely resemble those of Satanism! Before you scream, do a bit of research on it. To be a Satanist, you don't actually have to believe in Satan. Satanism generally focuses upon the spiritual advancement of the self, rather than upon submission to a deity or a set of moral codes. Do some research if you immediately think of the satanic cult stereotype. Your beliefs may also resemble those of earth-based religions such as paganism.

I know nothing about religion since I have found no use in me actually studying it so I don't believe in any...But apparently I'm a Satanist which is no surprise.

Your views are most similar to those of Christianity. Do more research on Christianity and possibly consider being baptized and accepting Jesus, if you aren't already Christian. Christianity is the second of the Abrahamic faiths; it follows Judaism and is followed by Islam. It differs in its belief of Jesus, as not a prophet nor historical figure, but as God in human form. The Holy Trinity is the concept that God takes three forms: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (sometimes called Holy Spirit). Jesus taught the idea of instead of seeking revenge, one should love his or her neighbors and enemies. You are an agnostic. Though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in God, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic. Agnostics don't believe it is possible to prove the existence of God (nor lack thereof). Agnosticism is a philosophy that God's existence cannot be proven. Some say it is possible to be agnostic and follow a religion; however, one cannot be a devout believer if he or she does not truly believe.

I can't say that I"m surprised since I'm not. I thought most of the questions were pretty straight-forward and dealing with what religion you were. So in that respect, I think it was a good 54 question quiz.

Satanism, alas, does not surprise me either. According to the Bible, Satan was the top angel but was overcome with pride and fell because pride is the greatest sin. How can you be prideful in the presence of a perfect and holy God? But, anyway, Satan was the master of pride and pride is only concerned with yourself. Bettering yourself, being hedonistic (only pleasures), etc. are perfectly in-line with what Satan teaches: You are God.

Interesting. I usually consider myself a strong atheist spiritually, and a strong Jew culturally. If people ask my religion, I tend to say I'm Jewish, because it's very important to me. Then again, I don't believe anyone should follow a system of morality other than that which suits them; I'm terribly hedonist and really do trust only myself. In that sense I guess Satanism rather fits me, too :D

A Jewish Satanist. Huh. Better not tell that to Mel Gibson ;)

It's basically the same for me, one side of my family is Jewish, other, Christianity. I know how to read Hebrew :P

Hey, Oy! What's up?

Let's see here. For one thing, you would have to be omniscient (God) in order to make the claim that there is no hell. Since you're not God, I see no reason for you to make the claim or even be able to support it.

And no I don't think that caring about yourself is wrong. That's silly. Besides, Jesus said to love your neighbor as you love yourself. C.S. Lewis made a TERRIFIC analogy of this but I don't have the time to copy it down for you. Basically, it goes like this.

1. You don't love yourself all the time so it doesn't mean you must love your neighbor all of the time. Sometimes you're just plain disgusted with something you did.

2. You don't love your actions all of the time. Sometimes you just make a really dumb decision, so it's not like Jesus is saying love everything your neighbor does to you. That's foolish.

3. But you do love yourself. You may not like yourself at certain times, be disgusted with your actions, but, of course, you continue to love yourself. In that same way, Jesus says to love your neighbors.

Thus, there is no problem with loving yourself. It is with thinking you are better than others and, ultimately, God Himself. You deserve to go into heaven on your own merits, you don't act like so-and-so, so God should do whatever you ask.

That's what Satan got kicked out of heaven for, and that is what I'm referring to.

You scored as Buddhism.

Your beliefs most closely resemble those of Buddhism. Do more research on Buddhism and possibly consider becoming Buddhist, if you are not already. In Buddhism, there are Four Noble Truths: (1) Life is suffering. (2) All suffering is caused by ignorance of the nature of reality and the craving, attachment, and grasping that result from such ignorance. (3) Suffering can be ended by overcoming ignorance and attachment. (4) The path to the suppression of suffering is the Noble Eightfold Path, which consists of right views, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right-mindedness, and right contemplation. These eight are usually divided into three categories that base the Buddhist faith: morality, wisdom, and samadhi, or concentration. In Buddhism, there is no hierarchy, nor caste system; the Buddha taught that one's spiritual worth is not based on birth.

Disturbing: the little difference between christianity and satanism....

Well, I'll never be a "good" christian... Too much time of being a scientist prevented that a long time ago. While most ppl in the forums scream "no pic no proof", I would imply that on God...

I DO belive in God, but I don't think he waved his magic wand and created it all", not that he/she/it has the power to influence the daily life: why else would there be war, suffering and so on if H/She/It would be all-mighty? In that case, I prefer "Bruce Allmighty"!

Anyway, the word "believing" says it all, there's no proof!

Satanism actually isn't as bad as people say it is, Biabf.

It's basic thoughts are basically things like "only harm others if they harm you first" and "be careful with who you let in your house".
