I got a new Song Ericsson walkman phone: the w900i. It just means that I don't have to carry a phone AND a mp3 player.

ATM it has 470mb of memory, but I have ordered a 2gb memory stick :P

Accccctually,

1 GB = 1024 MB

512 MB = 0.5 GB

All the hard disk based MP3 players I've ever come across (including iPods) are measured in decimal gigabytes; not binary. That's why a brand new 20GB iPod will show up at 18.5GB in the about section - because it is 20 decimal GB (10^9 bytes) but the firmware displays it in binary GB (2^30 bytes).

The same goes for normal hard disks too.

HEH??? :ohnoes: :XD:

I dont have the money to waste on music. I just listen to the radio. :D

I rarely listen to the radio. Apart from the Chris Moyles show in the morning and occasioanlly Jo Wiley in the Live Lounge the only time i listen to the radio is if a gig is being broadcast on R1.

iPod (normal) Average of 15,000 songs.

iPod mini Average of 750-2000 songs.

iPod nano-120-500 songs.

I think those are the rough guidelines to the amounts, but I may be wrong. ::'

I remember when Sony tried to advertise the capacity of their network minidisc or something (might have been an MP3 player, I don't remember) as a stupidly high amount - what the small print revealed was that they were showing the capacity when all songs were at 48kbps...

do u guys think that Ipods r better or MP3s? :-s

Umm.. Ipods are MP3 players..

I'm a bigger fan of Ipods because I've always liked how they looked compared to others..

You're...you're asking us whether a portable music player is better than a music codec?

For that matter, is Gilbert & Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance better than a Fiat Uno?

Yah, I'd also like to know the answer. And now that we're on it: is Ronaldinho better than Old Trafford?

Man it really gets my goat when people think there different. For 20+ GB players I would probaby get an Ipod. The nanos however are not a very good buy a 4 GB is $200 I think? For the same price you can get twice the storage, a voice recorder, FM radio, and an FM radio recorder when you buy a Zen Micro. I may be a little fanoyish but I really do think there better mp3 players.

ok i atm own a MD player which is fine but i dont have much space for the disks

If you read the post, deloria never claimed to have been a fan because it makes him/her different... just because they like the looks....

I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.

One of my friends, a while ago, had a 64MB MP3 player. He wanted to fit more music on it so he encoded every song to 5kpbs - the sound quality was surprisingly good considering the bitrate, it sounded like a cheap radio.

I got a discman. One of the arms on the lid is busted, but i jammed some paper in the portion which triggers the "the lid is closed" so I learned that good. And the anti-skip is broke as well. If I got it turned on, no track gets past 9 seconds without "freezing" and if I get a slight bump, the track can "freeze" for up to 3 minutes, no matter if I turn it off, take the cd out, etc.

I really need an mp3 player. Most likely the Zen Vision or standard Zen.

I have a nano, forgot the Mb but it can hold a thousand songs, only 1 tenth full so far :D

I got all of those
