deangut
Well after reading two seperate topics and hearing people say: "Prayer rate was recently updated to drain faster." 'I saw something on RS confirming Drain rate has been increased" then "A MOD confirmed that Drain rate has not been updated" "This is just a rumor started on the ORS boards.. Totally false!" What have you heard? What is your proof? You have any videos confirming either side? I unofficially believe that it hasn't.. Been playing over 2 years and use prayer in a couple differnet areas of training and haven't noticed an increase of using PPots or using alter. What say you? == Test== ... Well let's really find out... Here is an old Drain Rate Guide.. From 2002-2003 These are from RSC but correct me If I am wrong. Same calc are used in rs2..... The drain rate is how much each prayer costs. When in combat, you'll notice that each attack has about a three second interval. With a drain rate of 60, your prayer points will decrease by 1 every round/three seconds. With a drain rate of 30, your prayer points will decrease by 1 every two rounds/six seconds. With a drain rate of 15, your prayer points will decrease by 1 every four rounds/twelve seconds. And, with a drain rate of 10, your prayer points will decrease by 1 every six rounds/eighteen seconds. With two(or more) prayers on, it gets a bit difficult to understand... But, I think of it as a fraction. With a drain rate of 60 and 15, it's a combined 75 each round/three seconds. 75/60 = 1.25 prayer points lost each round. Ts_Stormrage
It has not been altered one way or the other. In the same combat equipment ive always used for pestcontrol, I could do EXACTLY the same ammount of attacks as I can do now wearing the same stuff (untill yesterday, when I aquired myself a set of Proselyte). And no, my pray level has not increased.. Headnazgul
I have noticed no difference myself but if you think it has increased then you're probably experiencing a glitch. If it was truly changed then I'm sure the people who denied experiencing a change would have honestly seen a difference. But it appears its affecting some people and not others... so it must be a glitch.

FuriousElf
If I'm doing PC I always run out of prayer points when my spec is back to 4/10, and that has been so as long as I can remember. But if jagex did change the drain rates, it's also harder to get the fire cape now, I guess. :|

Leesters
Welcome back, deangut..... Here's the summary: They updated new prayers, made a scroll bar on the prayer menu, and then changed it so there was no more scroll bar, as you see it now. On this second update, prayer drain mysteriously increased. People spammed the RS forums with this, and someone then posted a fake post from RS Cust Supp saying "Yes, we felt it was too easy". Then Paul made a post saying, "No, the rumor of the prayer drain rate being increased is not true. We have not increased prayer drain rate" Everyone cheered and said "Yay! Thanks Paul for clearing this up!" Which distracted from the real issue, that there seems to be a bug that makes the drain go faster. If I wasn't on semi-retired status, I'd be on a campaign. :P A circus in Runescape?? Oh my. REMEMBER RUNESCAPE KARMA! Nenga
I know this is true, at barrows I used to use about 2 p pots on a bad day. I went today and I used 4 i brought 4 because I was low on runes and I thought I may have to finsh some1 off with melee or range. p.s. i had dh in the tunnels and was out of prayer when i got to him i had to hide and eat, then i 1 hited him the rest of the way. Barihawk
I haven't noticed any drain. The only prayer drain I know is in the barrows, otherwise it runs for a pretty long time.
