Compare three Gnomes riding around on a Giant Battle Tortoise and firing off spells to something in real life. The skull mask covers the back of your head while the Death Eater's mask does not. I'd say they've far too alike for it to just be a coincidence. That's one difference that you mentioned and there are at least five similarities that I could mention right off the bat. I really don't think Jagex could 'coincidentally' come up with an item that's very similar to one that's in a very popular movie. Obviously there was some inspiration :P Lol I don't understand how that movie was so flipping popular. I finished reading the book(for the tenth time :roll: ) ANd went to watch the movie, halfway into it I turned it off. The movie is absolutely horrible. They Dumbldore appear to be a homosexual, The opening scene is horribly different from the book........ It'd be nice if Jagex would come up with something at least remotely original for once :roll: Well, if you don't like how Jagex makes references, quit. I personally like them, keeps me hooked on the game. Aaaannnd the Ghost Busters reference. I do English to Japanese and Japanese to English translation for free! Every new one you find makes you have that warm giggly feeling inside. I mean, I had a blast with the halloween event. I loved the ghost busters reference. Also you know if they mask goes all the way around because if i remeber right they took one of the masks off. I think you missed the point of my post... I was stating that you can draw connections where there are none. I was, in essence, saying that RuneScape is very original. Using those little referances show they are up to date, and like putting random comedy in the game. IE: all those monty python hints( best group EVER!!!!!). Not that they are stealing ideas. Peronix Posted November 2, 2006 Share Posted November 2, 2006 Yes, I see the similarity. I thought the mask looked alot like the mask that the skulls gang in CoH/CoV wear. But they didn't get it from either that or the Harry Potter character you mentioned. They just sat down, said 'hey lets make a skeleton outfit for halloween', and made it, and it's just a coincidence that the skull mask ended up looking like that. If it is a reference to anything, it is a very, very subtle one, not even worth mentioning IMO, unlike that "Col Jake O'Niall one (I'm sorry, but that one was blatant :lol: ... as was the Ghostbusters one :roll: ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
