November 20, 200619 yr Most of the friends that I have are male (I hate females -.-) so I really wouldn't know. I am not the kind of person that stays up to date with all of my friends stats. :P Although I am a female and I would like to consider myself a small time skiller with my stats the way they are. : The Internet: where men are men, women are men, and children are the FBI.First Dragon Drop 5/6/2006 -Dragon Med from Bronze Dragon :DFirst Barrows Item From Chest 2/20/2007 - Verac's Brassard :D

November 20, 200619 yr I'd say true female players are more likely to become more skill orientated, however, as most players are male, it's pretty hard to make a proper comparison.
November 20, 200619 yr Are you talking real life girls? or in game girls. Because, for one thing, any one could make their runescape account into a girl and make it a skiller. I had to laugh when I read that, so true. I'd say that more guys are skillers (from looking at rate this and the ones I know) but that's most likely just because of the huge difference in the ratio of males to females that play. Oh, and to answer your question anton, yes you are paranoid. :P 571st to 99 Fm Nov. 4 '06 - 315th to 99 Crafting Mar. 3 '07 - 3410th to 99 Fishing Sept. 18 '0726378th to 99 Cooking Oct. 16 '07 -.- 99 Thieving Dec. 29 '07 - 1343rd to 99 Farming June 5 '081807th to 99 Agility Nov. 8 '08 - 3094th to 99 Smithing Feb. 14 '092012 total - 91 combat
November 20, 200619 yr Maybe a tad, seeing as women tend to be less violent people. Well... Some  Currently not active on RuneScape.
November 20, 200619 yr I'm surprised no uber sexist "cooking" skill jokes have been mentioned. Must....resist....too....easy  I could see why someone might think you would get more female skillers in ratio to men, simply because I would have thought a female player would prefer a balanced well rounded player, but I know you obviously get exceptions all round. November 20, 200619 yr Considering that 75% of the people hiding behind the female pixels are in fact, male, I don't really think we can assume anything on the genders of people in RS.
November 20, 200619 yr Considering that 75% of the people hiding behind the female pixels are in fact, male, I don't really think we can assume anything on the genders of people in RS. True....but as far as TRUE women players go. I'd say that a consideribly higher percentage of them are the obsessive, extreme, high level players compared to men. Following that statistic, it would be reasonable to say more women are skillers than men. Since skillers share the same mindset, but to a more pointless degree. November 20, 200619 yr It's not sexist unless you make it into something sexist. Being a skiller isn't insulting. Nearly every habit one forms in Runescape is a playing-style-choice. Naturally, all men don't have to slaughter beasts and women don't have to skill up the ranks. But, if you're asking whether either gender is inclined to make similar choices, I'd say there is a pattern. It's all really difficult to calculate because the ratio of men to women is so out of whack.
November 20, 200619 yr bit of a sexist remark if you ask me. Not at all, facts are facts. That is the pattern that has developed. I personally find skillers to be a time and money pit. I understand and embrace that few agree with me. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....
November 20, 200619 yr I would say that its more about age than about gender. Older players usually have more patience than players in their low teenages or younger - and you need patience to level skills. Then the gender distribution differ due to player age. Among the younger ones males dominate, among adult players the gender distrubution is more equal. Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)
November 20, 200619 yr I think topics like these scare a lot of people, because there probably is some truth to your original hypothesis. I've noticed that the ratio of female characters around the farming patches is more heavily female than in most other aspects of the game. Same goes for fishing, or down in the Rogues Den cooking, or smelting in Port Phasmatys. To be honest, I don't think it's so much a gender thing as it is a maturity thing. The mentality and maturity level of the vast majority of Runescape players (who tend to be boys age 16 and below, F2P especially) is utterly unbearable. Those teens and pre-teens are not likely to be skillers, because of ADD and all sorts of other reasons. The only reason gender is a factor in this debate is because the average 12 year old girl is more mature than your average 16 year old boy (in real life or in Runescape). As such, a good way to spend as little time as possible with those anti-social miscreants is to spend time skilling. I have never, ever heard people get into fights while smelting in Port Phasmatys or farming in Catherby. The people there are just nicer and more mature. However, get within shouting distance of Edgeville bank or stumble into the duel arena on a clue scroll and the "noob" nonsense flares right up. So yes, a higher percentage of girls are more likely to be skillers, simply because girls are more mature. More interesting questions: - are you more likely to be scammed by a guy? - are girls less likely to nickel and dime you while trading? In my experience, yes to both. There are exceptions, no doubt, but I've found that girls in runescape are far less likely to focus on pixel wealth, and couldn't be bothered haggling over GPs, let alone trying to scam you. And that makes Runescape a richer and more enjoyable environment. Hopefully Jagex begins to tailor the game to attract those types of players.
November 20, 200619 yr First off it depends what you mean by the term skillers, because combat is a skill also. But if you mean non-combat, then I guess I would fit in with your "hypothesis". I am female and have ceased to train combat for a year and a half, with my non-combat skills quite high. SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
November 20, 200619 yr i actually do more fun than train. usually youll find me standing in a bank talking to someone than raising my skills. I like the social aspect of the game, the training is just something extra to do to get cool clothes :-)

November 20, 200619 yr sexist..... lmao. Go get a life, im serious, i only play rs when im really bored ((dont live anywhere near my friends, or basketball courts, ect, so ya, i actually have a excuse :P, and im not fat, unlike some of the people here.)) Do you happen to know what a Female is? The best form of female is in your grade, semi long hair, good hair, Medium height... and good other features of the female anatomy... Welcome! ((btw im in highschool, gotta take 1 thing of gym, and we have health courses, ((same in middle school)), and the first thing that happened is the teacher said they went to lovers lane and she whipped out a freaking part of the male anatomy...))) i can not say whatelse happened in the room.
November 21, 200619 yr i have a pure fisher and woodcutter, theyre both 65+ and im male :| i see some female skillers, but most of them have boy names or just boys irl
November 21, 200619 yr I've always been a skiller and always been a male. Its my experience that some of the females playing the game are among the nastiest (i.e. most aggressive) combat-leaning players, so I don't think such generalisations apply. Which is why games such as Runescape are known as 'RPGs' (ROLE PLAYING GAMES). Geddit??? Why is 'common sense' so named, when there is so little of it about?Welcome to puberty, we've been expecting you.
November 21, 200619 yr bit of a sexist remark if you ask me. Black people are harder to see in the dark. What's that supposed to mean?
November 21, 200619 yr I know like..atleast 7 male skillers (Me included) and I only know..2 female skillers. (I think). But I know what you mean. I think it might be a bit like in real life. In real life women take alot of responsibility (atleast in the teenages) while most men dont take as much responsibility, but, there is exceptions, ofcorse. What do responsibility have to do with rs? I think most men play just for fun while they got nothing to do, really. So I guess combat is the easy choise when you dont really have to do anything, just sit there and relax and keep your health up, while you in many noncombatskills need to work some. Like, for example, mining, thieving and agility. Whilst most women (or atleast more then the men) play just a bit more seriously and train all/most of the skills since its nice to have a high total and nice noncombatskills, not just a high combat. Rank 10 Mining in Sweden :)
November 21, 200619 yr wow, i mean cmon man any1 can do anything putting a gender influence on it is weird. I agree. Protect the Light...
