November 30, 200619 yr Obsidian is a dark stone which can be used in jewlery. The Aztecs shapred obsidian and used it in their weapons. I'm maknig this connection the the Onyx stone in rs and to the Obsidian cape If the Cape is made of stone, wouldnt it be much heavier then 2kg? ^^ClicK^^"I backed my car into a cop car the other dayWell he just drove off sometimes life's ok...Alright already we'll all float onAlright don't worry we'll all float on" - Isaac BrockDays Hunting:4 - Kingly Imps Caught:2Money Earned: 4.5-5m
November 30, 200619 yr You do know that Onyx IS a real stone, right? :-s (ussually people think the other way around, not knowing obsidian) :-k And IRL Onyx and Obsidian are different things, in rs they are only connected y only being able to get them at thzhaar
December 1, 200619 yr If the Cape is made of stone, wouldnt it be much heavier then 2kg? And how does a cannon fit in your backpack? Don't mix up RS and real life =P~
December 1, 200619 yr Although Obsidian is not a rock it is a very hard substance and is type of naturally occurring glass. Obsidian is mineral-like, but not a true mineral because it is not crystalline. Its composition is very similar to that of granite and rhyolite whatever that might be. Many thanks to Pup for my new Siggy :)
December 1, 200619 yr well that's made out of cloth, so...i think it just has the protection of obsidian is what it means..lined with it. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
December 1, 200619 yr The cape examine says it's made out of thin plates, but yeah it SHOULD be heavier. (achievement capes 0kg ftw) :ohnoes:

December 1, 200619 yr Not only is it made out of an igneous rock, it's easy to shatter. So therefore it wouldn't protect you very well... Cause it could break... As for Onyx, I'm too lazy to look stuff up about it or remember anything about it. Wolfy is Officially Retired.I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D
December 1, 200619 yr well, 2kg is around 6 pounds+, and if you examine it, it is interwoven plates, not just solid obsidian. my guess is these plates are less than a 1/4 an inch thick, maybe less. i do not think that that would weigh more than 6 or 8 pounds on your back. Noted raw mackerel drop... Wtfh? Always buying: Watermelon seeds, 2K each. Strawberry seeds, 800 each. Contact Via PM on forums.

Pounds is a measurement of FORCE in the english system, while Kilograms is a measurement of MASS. 2 Kilograms EXERTS approximately 4.4 pounds of force at earthnorm gravity. However, 2 Kilograms is NOT 4.4 pounds. Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Click for more information!

December 1, 200619 yr And you expect things in a game like Runescape to resemble real life because? December 1, 200619 yr And you expect things in a game like Runescape to resemble real life because? Next you will be complaining about the dragons cause they aren't real. Agreed... Or how teleporting isn't actually in real life... Yup, I mean obsidian could be a totally different material with the same name in Runescape. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
December 1, 200619 yr what are you talking about soma maybe you from another country i don't know really but in america pounds is a measurement of weight or mass not force... clearly, soma has taken a physics course. clearly, you haven't. he was correct; the pound is a measurement of force, which is basically the same thing as its weight. yes, kilograms are a mass, but you don't hear someone asking how many kilogram-accelerations you weigh, do you? because the acceleration due to gravity is practically constant at the surface of the earth, you'd just be multiplying everything by 9.8. which makes using just kilograms to describe your weight, when considered relative to others, valid. ANYWAYS, what was the topic about? oh right, factual accuracy. surprising that i ended up actually being on topic

Or how teleporting isn't actually in real life... This topic isn't really necessary No, I think this topic is neccessary. It's pretty interesting. I'm pretty sure that the cape is just woven with obsidian - not made entirely by it. But yes, I must acknowledge their points as well. It's just a game. Not everything's gonna be true. \
December 1, 200619 yr Obsidian is a type of naturally occurring glass, produced by volcanoes (igneous origin) when a felsic lava cools rapidly and freezes without sufficient time for crystal growth. Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony, a cryptocrystalline form of quartz. So onyx doesn't = obby PS: wikipedia wft! :P Elfs creating a crystal Axe would be like GreenPeace creating a Nuclear Powered Harpoon for killing seals...

December 1, 200619 yr yea, "obby" is a realy "stone" (its actualy some sot of "lava"(karamja vulcano)) and onyx is real to i both saw them in real life and i have some obby stones at home btw. wikipedia link for obby + wikipedia link for onyx barrows:dh axe, guth chainskirt, ah staffX2, v skirt, t leggsX2,dagannothkings: zerkerbandos: plate, bootsX3 tassetsX3(1 solo)
December 1, 200619 yr I've seen a rock of obsidian IRL, or "volcanic glass" as it's usually called. And for onyx, it's a real gem, I actually got a few of them. R.I.P. Shiva and Steve

This proves the point a lot of people make about the IQ of RuneScape players. If he/she would have bothered to search for Onyx and Obsidian seperately then he/she would have realised they are two different items. If the Cape is made of stone, wouldnt it be much heavier then 2kg? Wouldnt boot's which make you weigh less then 0kg make you fly? Would you be able to carry a cannon which is bigger then you in your backpack without it showing? Thats the joy of games they dont have to make sense, they are just there for our enjoyment. December 1, 200619 yr well MAYBE the plates are just having somekind of Join hint, that you could actually put it in smaller size, and maybe its just so thin pieces that have been stoned so hard that they're unbreakable. = there are alot of options about the chances about how things could be. there isn't just one simple answer for this kind of question, in my opinion I posted here.ftw.

If you want to be petty, feel free, but I think we need to return to the issue at hand.
