Obsidian is mineral-like, but not a true mineral because it is not crystalline. Its composition is very similar to that of granite and rhyolite whatever that might be. Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony, a cryptocrystalline form of quartz. This proves the point a lot of people make about the IQ of RuneScape players. If he/she would have bothered to search for Onyx and Obsidian seperately then he/she would have realised they are two different items. Would you be able to carry a cannon which is bigger then you in your backpack without it showing? Thats the joy of games they dont have to make sense, they are just there for our enjoyment.
