Although Obsidian is not a rock it is a very hard substance and is type of naturally occurring glass.

Obsidian is mineral-like, but not a true mineral because it is not crystalline. Its composition is very similar to that of granite and rhyolite whatever that might be.

Not only is it made out of an igneous rock, it's easy to shatter. So therefore it wouldn't protect you very well... Cause it could break... As for Onyx, I'm too lazy to look stuff up about it or remember anything about it.

well, 2kg is around 6 pounds+, and if you examine it, it is interwoven plates, not just solid obsidian.

my guess is these plates are less than a 1/4 an inch thick, maybe less. i do not think that that would weigh more than 6 or 8 pounds on your back.

That is false.

2kg IS NOT 4.4 lb. Pounds is a measurement of FORCE in the english system, while Kilograms is a measurement of MASS.

2 Kilograms EXERTS approximately 4.4 pounds of force at earthnorm gravity. However, 2 Kilograms is NOT 4.4 pounds.

And you expect things in a game like Runescape to resemble real life because?

Next you will be complaining about the dragons cause they aren't real.

There's most likely going to be teleporters, time machine or something such as that in our life time. Or atleast a massive disscovery that will help us do it. So Jagex were thinking ahead =P

Yup, I mean obsidian could be a totally different material with the same name in Runescape.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

clearly, soma has taken a physics course. clearly, you haven't. he was correct; the pound is a measurement of force, which is basically the same thing as its weight.

yes, kilograms are a mass, but you don't hear someone asking how many kilogram-accelerations you weigh, do you? because the acceleration due to gravity is practically constant at the surface of the earth, you'd just be multiplying everything by 9.8. which makes using just kilograms to describe your weight, when considered relative to others, valid.

ANYWAYS, what was the topic about? oh right, factual accuracy. surprising that i ended up actually being on topic

No, I think this topic is neccessary. It's pretty interesting.

I'm pretty sure that the cape is just woven with obsidian - not made entirely by it.

But yes, I must acknowledge their points as well. It's just a game. Not everything's gonna be true. \'

Obsidian is a type of naturally occurring glass, produced by volcanoes (igneous origin) when a felsic lava cools rapidly and freezes without sufficient time for crystal growth.

Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony, a cryptocrystalline form of quartz.

So onyx doesn't = obby

This proves the point a lot of people make about the IQ of RuneScape players.

If he/she would have bothered to search for Onyx and Obsidian seperately then he/she would have realised they are two different items.

If the Cape is made of stone, wouldnt it be much heavier then 2kg?

Wouldnt boot's which make you weigh less then 0kg make you fly?

Would you be able to carry a cannon which is bigger then you in your backpack without it showing?

Thats the joy of games they dont have to make sense, they are just there for our enjoyment.

well MAYBE the plates are just having somekind of Join hint, that you could actually put it in smaller size, and maybe its just so thin pieces that have been stoned so hard that they're unbreakable.

= there are alot of options about the chances about how things could be. there isn't just one simple answer for this kind of question, in my opinion

I posted here.

ftw.

I only worded it that way because we are um... on earth, and the previous poster stated it that way, and most Americans understand things based on pounds.

If you want to be petty, feel free, but I think we need to return to the issue at hand.
