The_Dragon_Reborn
m8 is an abbreviation of the very Australian term "mate", which can be used in reference to your dearest friend, someone you just meet or anywhere in between. It is the equivalent to the American buddy (if that term is still in use). I started using this contraction about a year ago when i started playing... could i be a trendsetter... hmmmm, is destroying the english language something to be proud of? Mate is a British word. Australia was a British Colony. ~~Let The Dragon ride again, on the winds of time~~I've always felt as if I'm the only person who can understand the concept of sarcasm on the internet. Will H
I'm kinda more lenient on people who are outside the US since English is usually their second language (or third or fourth) language. Although I've seen many people in such a situation who type better than people from the US. Umm, what about that island where proper English actually comes from? England? :? Nobody seems to realise we exist for some reason. I honestly use this lingo sometimes, but only to shorten wasted time. I only really have a problem with people who use numbers (Makes it harder to read) or use it too much. Never trust a 13375p33k3r. (See how hard it is to read?) A word of advice. Do your best to prevent yourself from slipping out a 'lol' or 'rofl' in conversation. It doesn't help your reputation. ~ W ~

Bloodveld
two acronyms that confused me for the longest time were ftw (for the win) and imho (in my honest opinion). When people said these I used to think they were cussing at me  I still cant figure out what (h) means. I was told once but the connection between (h) and what it means was so obscure that I can't remember it. Do you have msn? if so, type in (h) and you'll see what it means  If not... and I think the 'h' means 'hot' or something? :-kNope. Jimmyh7
So many people don't know what "tbh" means. I try using it online with friends and no one gets it. So I'm not exactly sure where "tbh" came from, if it was RS or not, but it's definitely RS lingo. I also love how people who don't know what it means use it anyway  "Omg scammer noob tbh!11!!" vilageidiotx
The one i never got was "the wildy". Its not a place that really needs a cutesy name like that, it makes much more sense and takes less typing to call it "the wild". Sounds better. g_u_t_h_i_x
Dh for Dharok has to be one of the worst. Abby whips for abyssal whips is pretty bad as well. Most text messaging lingo such as 'wut' and '4' is pretty pathetic too. I type everything out even on my cellphone and these kids can't type one more character to make 'what.' It's kinda sad if you ask me. Personally, I'd rather spell everything out so I don't look like an illiterate or a 12 year old. In game and irl :P I'm 12 and my IQ is 137,with a college reading level. Don't think that all 12 year olds can't spell and don't know English : On topic-And the lingo that really bothers me was "ftw". I heard it while playing Castle Wars about 100 times and finally stuck up the courage to ask what it was. "For the win" is really odd, but I've been using it ever since... jackal_55
whenever somebody adds (H) onto the end of they're sentence.. i still dont know what the [cabbage] it means! also, the word "noob" comes to mind, when you think about it, whoever made up the word was probly (i say that IRL, so it dosn't qualify for this thread \ ) having an argument with someone, and then randomly calls them "noob." what kind of a moron comes up with something like that?! nudist hippy vegan elves who inexplicably wear leather.
