Future of the german servers..

Does anyone but me feel that the german servers are going downhill, already? I was playing for about an hour in the f2p world (not a member atm), and I noticed that nearly EVERYONE was speaking in english!!

I find that as pretty bad, seeing as it is a GERMAN server! When I asked "Sprecht sie Deutsch?" Do you speak German?, people said "wut?" "nope"

Out of the probally 30 I questioned, only aboutt 5 people replied in German, siginaling that they can speak German, or some German.

Do you not feel that the non German-speaking people will just make those servers ordinary servers? I don't see anything wrong with people speaking english, but those whom think it will be just a plain old server should really leave!

It was made for the german rs community and wasn't ment for the non german speakers to mess it up. If you can't speak german, it is OK to go, but please, don't use it as your main server.

I feel pretty bad by being cursed out several times for telling people to say "buying lobbies" in german. WTF IF YOU KNOW NO GERMAN, WHY THE HELL YOU PLAYING THERE?!?!

The servers at the moment are great for getting resources, such as rune mining, cutting magics, and other resources, but if you go to c wars most of the people speak german

I was trying to buy 1k hummers last night on the german member server, but unfortunately, nobody knew what the hell I was talking about. :shame:

I agree. If you don't speak german, don't make the german worlds the main ones you play on.

oh well. runescape is primarally a english speaking game and the fact that theres german worlds isnt going to stop this. let people be, yelling at them to speak german isnt going to fix the problem.

i think most of you are taking this way too seriously, i think the german servers were put in place for people who only speak german to understand the mechanics of the game, tbh i dont think the german speaking population gives half a darn about whether or not there are english speakers in there.

i dont see what benefit there is to forcing the non german speakers out of the world other than enforcing some un-enforceable rule, which will only result in player discontent

I think they should make a rule prohibiting you from asking a player to speak in English if you're on a German server... then find a few German player mods to handle it.

What about all the other languages on the "English" servers? We gonna ban them from asking to speak in their language?

I agree that if you don't speak German, don't use a German server as your home world, but there's no reason why you shouldn't use a German server if you want to. Just be prepared to not understand anything.

PS: A "hohlenschleime" is a cave slime, that took me a while to figure out

It should be as simple as this... Make an option in the Preferences for information to be displayed in German or English, and can be toggled at any time.

Either that, or make talking english a reportable offense in those worlds and just give them temp bans from those servers.

don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?

Doing a little bit of everything

I think the main advantage to the server if for NPC interaction for those who actually speak German.

It would be nice if everyone else in the server were to speak German as intended, but until you get the server running at a constant 1000+ people, and the resources spaces and training spaces become more used like a normal server, then you will have a lot of English speaking players going there simply to play in a more peaceful area with less people, or to get their resources easier.

I think eventually the world will start to fill up as normal worlds do, and then less English speaking players will be enticed to play there, and hopefully more German players will replace them so the server stays full and doesn't remain a dead server good for resources gathering.

Ya, I've been around too long.

theres no reason to let the servers go to waste, I dont think the german Runescape population is very big, plus, most germans can speak english so that cuts back on it as well.

Personally, I do speak German, although I'm only in my first year, I like the German servers. I don't think they they should outlaw English in the two servers, because Germans use English too. I think it would be up to them to use enough German that the English players don't understand a word of it and leave. And although I wish they hadn't made the choice that anything you gain there won't be transfered in a few weeks, it was a good move to keep English players out.

Lol last night I was standing in Varrok and I heard a guy scream out, " Es gibt ein Fliegenkuh in der Flughafen!!!" (There's a flying cow in the airport) or something to the effect of that

This is my original signature. You can't touch this.

The way I see it, if my presence isn't detractting from their gameplay (My presnece on the server making it full) then it's fine.

As long as I'm not insulting anyone, or taking away from the gameplay for them I see it as ok.

I honestly enjoy the peacefullness, learning cababilities, and memory comprehension.

I haven't played on the German servers yet, but I can't say I wasn't expecting this.

I personally have never had the opportunity to check it out. From what I have heard and read through here they must be good for the training spots, but the people speaking English seems not so good about them. If they were made for Germans why don't they speak German on them? I don't think Jagex needs to do any bans over it, but request that if people would like to use the German servers to please speak German as it was intended. I will most likely use them a decent amount when they are fully released so I can better develop my knowledge of the German language, regardless if the resources are better or worse.

Edit: Haha, I didn't even realize they had an open beta until just now, gonna go check them out.

The reason is because it just started, lots of english speaking players will want to try them out because its new. When i was on i didn't see any English speaking players, i saw lots of German players speaking German.

I also think there are many German players out there who have not found RuneScape yet, i would say in a few months they will start to get busy with German players.

I think it's great that English speakers are visiting the German servers.

It gives a chance for German speakers to practice their English, and for the rest of us to learn German.

Kill corporate radio. http://www.killradio.org

they should make it so when you first login to a German server it asks some common German question to know if your German or not like it asks what is one plus five minus three or something of that sort in German to tell if your German
