primadog
Intro. Do you ever wonder how many skill capes are out there? Or how have the skill capes release affect the number of skill capes available? Has the skill cape update been successful, providing incentive for more players to reach for the elusive level 99? The following data is collected to address such questions. Background Information After announcing the Capes of Achievement in the October Behind the Scene, the RuneScape community debated the possibilities of the new update with much enthusiasm. The update came and went, leaving some players happy and other disappointed with the cape's usefulness. In the end though, the best way to gauge how successful the update is through how many players worked toward that goal. Thus I have been collecting data on number of lvl99 skills on biweekly bases, beginning on the announcement of the update at October 3rd, through the update release on October 18th, and will continue until some definite conclusion can be made. Notes 1. Since there's no viable way to find out how many quest capes are out there, I was not able to collect information regarding the quest capes. 2. I understand that F2Pers cannot wear or get capes, but there's no viable way for me to weed out f2pers from the data. 3. Many players have multiple level 99 skills, so the data total does not reflect the number of players with capes. Thus the data should be observed with a grain of salt. It only reflect the number of possible capes in the game, not the actual number of capes or cape-holders. The Data The following data counts how many skill capes can be possibility distributed at specific date. The data is gathered using runescape.com's highscore. The following data shows the per day increase and per day percent increase of each skill. The following data is a prediction of how many capes will be in the game on weekly bases. The following graphs shows the data trend /w predictions. Conclusions I will leave this until I have collected more data. blacknite310
Great Job finding out all of those numbers. And you can see how hard 99 agility is to get, saying that it was one of the earlier member skills, yet still only 81 ppl have it, same with herblore. But there is a way to narrow it down. The hardest skill to get is 55 Herblore for Fairy Tale II: Cure A Queen. Zoidnerd
loling at rcing capes :-w :-w that will truly be the most respectable cape ever, hardest skill to train, besides agility, but agility takes no cash (almost) several several mills for rcing to get up, and 8 exp per nat = alot of nats to get to 99 that will remain the most respectable skill.
