I like how smooth posts are added to threads, but for some reason, at least for me, it shows "Posted image [X]' instead of any picture(s) in my signature when adding it directly to a page. If it's added onto the next, it refreshes so it fixes itself.

Following changes have been made:

• Added join date to user info panel on posts;
  
• Made clans parsing more reliable on user info panel on posts; and
  
• Made it so that if you select "Hide" as your RS Status, nothing will display on your posts.
  

Just a suggestion, the details underneath the user's avatar just seem a little bit on the large side for me. Is there a possibility of making them smaller? Literally just a suggestion, I can live with the current size. :P

I notice that I can now add just my month and day for my birthday without being told I have to enter the year or enter nothing at all. Yay! I like having others know when it's my birthday, just not exactly how old I am.

 

And woo for the Gallery being open! But I can't seem to upload anything to my newly-created album... it's an allowed filetype (.jpg) that's definitely not exceeding file size (it's just 19KB), so I'm not sure what's going wrong. Help?

Hmm, there seems to be a problem with the basic uploader. Can you go to the Gallery upload page again, and choose "Try our advanced uploader (requires Flash 9)", then go back to the upload page again and it should ask you to reselect the album again, but this time it should look different and the upload should go through.

 

Definitely going to have to get used to the changes, but so far it looks great. :thumbsup:

Not your fault since that option wasn't there until you said it didn't work and I turned the alternative method on. ;)

Attempting to create an album in the gallery gives me the following javascript prompt: "NO_PERMISSION_TO_CREATE_IN_ALBUM";

 

I noticed this occurs when the parent album is not changed from its default of "Temporary global album for root member albums".

 

Once you select one of the pre-existing global albums, Non-RuneScape Pictures, RuneScape Pictures or Signatures & Avatars, as the parent album it will allow you to create the new album.

 

Overall, I'm liking the feel of the upgrade, so far.

Can my signature be restored?

If you go to your signature settings you can find the old url to upload to an approved host.

The breadcrumb is missing from the bottom of pages

Also, quoting a post with a blocked image causes the blocked image to load in the editor. (Blocking issues aside, that's still annoying. Can I change a profile setting to get back to editing text?)

 

I'm not happy with this. Is posting links to images I host acceptable, since they're not automatically requested on page load?

 

If you want to edit text-only then you can press the button in the top-left of the editor and it will switch out of RTE-mode. Unfortunately this does disable the BBCode buttons and there's nothing we can do about it (it's a 3rd party editor), I believe it might be changed in the next version though.

I think the font size is good, but yours looks a bit big because your join date takes up two lines.

I've been experiencing some slowness lately, not sure if it's related to this new layout but it was pretty fast before the upgrade. Now it can sometimes take a full minute to load pages.

 

Edit: Has the problem been fixed? All of a sudden it's pretty fast again O.o. I'll see when I get up tomorrow I guess.

Today MageUK applied a patch that should have fixed the slowness quite a bit. :) Hopefully you notice a significant improvement!

Yeah, I replaced one of the queries IP.Board was using by default for topic loading, in some cases we've seen load times drop from 40-50 seconds ( :?) for a large topic, to under 1 second. The problem used to be that because some topics were so large, whenever someone opened one of them, it would be sorting such a large result set that it would choke the whole database server (thus causing the slow load for everyone else) until the query finished. Now that these queries run in less than a second the forum should be faster for everyone. I've also submitted the appended query to IPS with a view to them including it within their future releases.
