  1. Exactly. Not only would it be unrealistic, the floors also have a purpose, as explained above. Besides, it wouldn't solve the problem. There are plenty of secluded places which aren't upper floors, such as penguin island, various parts of the Feldip Hills, and even the Stronghold of Security (Ironic I know).
  2. This may work... Somehow I'm not fully convinced that Jagex could get though all of the high-wealth-low-food stuff. I think there is a method to get around this, but I can't quite visualise it. :-k
  3. I agree, but adjust the drops to suit their levels. In fact, why not occasionally make some new items which are dropped. Like, uh, transparent armour?
  4. It's the collection of players that Runescape was better without. Autoers, RWTers, pures (Who actually drop traded), gold farmers, those who were addicted... I've said this before: It's the Great Runescape Detox of December '07. Try not to miss what was bad for you.
  5. I don't think that removing PINS will help, because people can be jerks and steal your account for the purpose of solely stealing your (or in the worse cases, someone's) account. Besides, it's completely optional, so there's no point in campaigning to get it removed. There are some restrictions that can now be removed, but this isn't one of them.
  6. It was good at the start, but it got suckier as it went along. I've got my mock exams on January, and there's coursework. And more coursework. I think I'm just tired now, but at least school's finished for christmas.
  7. Probably the EU. The EU will get involved, I bet. Or maybe we should flip a coin?
  8. Sometimes I think that calls to boycott a film can increase the film's popularity. It makes life interesting and exposes the idiots who are too sensitive. Oh, and I'm probably going to see the film tomorrow. \
  9. Yep. I think that these revenants are kinda like a PKer which performs perfectly, at the right time, brings the right stuff, and everything else. Ouch. So, I guess that people are scared of the wilderness now? Have you ever thought that this is what the Wildy was meant to be?
  10. Oh no. Please don't tell me it was... St. Andrews? :wall: But anyway, there is a reason for the separation. It's hard enough to deal with the virtual mobs, I don't think that they want physical mobs banging on their door either.
  11. Well, I think we just better start finding some strategies to defeat them. How good is 'crumble undead'? Probably useless, but oh well.
  12. I think so, but that can be changed. In other words, all essence, impure or pure will be treated as pure essence. However, the name will revert back to 'Rune Essence' (Which I always thought was a cooler name). The thing is that now RWTers have been closed off even before they encounter this measure, they don't even bother in the first place because they will never be able to trade it for real money. The floodgates can now be opened because there are no illegal players flowing though. Oh, and remember that blocking off unbalanced trade is two fold. Autoers cannot trade to their masters, and the masters cannot trade to their buyers. You can't even use bots for personal gain. The only way that I think that you can use autoing programs is by using the main account for personal gain. But nobody's going to risk that.
  13. I drunk in every last word of that and it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Ok, that make have been last night's Chicken Tikka Masala, but oh well. It's really good to hear that the RWTers (and the related bots) are gone for good, and there's concrete proof of that. What has happened here was that Jagex dropped a rough boulder on every single loophole and blocking it. However, they inadvertently ended up blocking the legitimate players in some aspects (examples include certain types of trade such as gifts, and the Deul Arena) that was somewhat unnecessary. Jagex now needs to work positively on their previous efforts and clear away the rubble, so that we can enjoy more freedom again whilst still maintaining a tight seal, keeping RWTers away. Jagex have admitted that it was drastic, and somewhat unrefined, but they ran out of time, soon they would reach the point when someone invented the undetectable bot, resulting in far worse measures (such as deleting a skill, which I'm sure you would agree would ruin Runescape). And even then it wouldn't solve the problem.
  14. Maybe the Wilderness wasn't quite as dangerous as Jagex visualised when creating it? I think this was the danger that Jagex was thinking about. Oh, and now we can't actually fight multi player versus player unless under the rules of Bounty Hunter, or Clan Wars, where are we going to do our multi steel site war now? Will it just have to be cancelled until something else comes along? Or will we have to make it into a Clan Wars tournament?
  15. Heh, I think I can make my own decisions thank you. Oh, and the only way a boycott will be effective is if everyone does it. Somehow I don't think you have exactly touched our hearts.
  16. I agree, now that RWTing is taken down, Jagex can now remove the redundant security measures in place to prevent RWT and inhibited players. However, randoms aren't redundant. They break the monotony of training a skill. However, I think that non-constructive skills such as the Swarm can now be 'eradicated'. I think that pure essence can be slowly dissolved so that RCing gets a well earned boost. The arguments for pure essence have now almost completely collapsed, and once the macros go, it will be a pointless burden on the community. I know everyone feels at the bottom at the moment, but things are looking up. EDIT: But don't get rid of the drunken dwarf, it's a bit of an important plot point (Especially since it's part of the name of a quest: Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf). Besides, I've kinda grown to love his alcohol-induced pointlessness.
  17. Yeah, that LootShare. Instead of ranting about it, why don't we have suggestions on how to improve this. Jagex have admitted that their updates aren't perfect, but necessary. If you read the latest news on http://www.runescape.com, they will tell you this.
  18. I'm a Christian and I loved the 'His Dark Materials' books. It's not a swipe at the religion, it's a swipe at corrupt officials that claim to 'be' the religion, but aren't. I believe in a religion, not an organisation which tries to relate itself to religion. I am going to see the film and enjoy it, and no fundamentalist movement is going to stop me.
  19. Pures are the twisted result of a flawed system. Pures were not meant to exist and get advantages over non-pure accounts. I'm sorry, but perhaps you need to pick yourself up and train defence? You might even have a good time playing Bounty Hunter or Clan Wars.
  20. Hmm, this is fairly effective. However, I think that we should 'keep the plug out of the hole until all of the water has drained out'. Once the RWTers have left, Jagex can be somewhat more lax on the restrictions. And if it returns, the 3K limit can be put back. I like the whole 'loyalty points' idea, but it shouldn't be related to anything you can program to do automatically.
  21. That is really nice work. A lot more efficient than our previous models. Keep up the effort!
  22. You already can make mystic sets. I have a blue mystic set in my bank, and I'm pretty sure you can do it with all the other colors too. As for the cannon, yeah, why not. Not like it'd harm anyone. just to say! you can't iv'e tried but one thing the mystic may get mixed up and think about dsylexic people mystic (gold) mystic(red) mystic(blue) very easy to mix up and cannon i think as well it will be good please help me :D Doesn't it have a picture of the colour on the item box as well anyway? If you are having trouble with things like reading it,I'm sure there's ways of telling. Oh, but I don't like the idea of customising sets. For one thing, it would take up quite a bit of memory, and secondly, it means you can scam with it again (such as sticking in a mithril full helm for a rune one). It would be a step backwards. The whole 'armour sets' idea is brilliant on Jagex's behalf, but it's not very good if things like this are forgotten.
  23. You are completely right Qeltar. Surprising as it is, this whole thing actually makes sense. We can still do the vast majority of trading (albeit without the unbalanced type which was the intended target for destruction), but it's under a new title. I'll call this the Great Runescape Detox of December '07. You're going to feel really weak and ill straight after a detox, but you will feel really healthy (and live longer) in the long run. Nobody liked the idea that you had to be a pure to be successful in player versus player combat. It was a mockery of the pvp combat system. Maybe some of these people who have been affected (namely stakers, merchanters, pures) needed a wake up call that they were doing something that was, albeit not illegal, somewhat negative towards the gaming community. The RWTers and RWT related autoers and gold farmers are destroyed. Forever. What a nice thought. I agree with Qeltar and Jagex (An unlikely duo), this will be so much better for Runescape, and that people who quit may result in Runescape being a better game without them. ...hang on, does this mean that random events will soon be pointless?
  24. Holy crap. I just read the updates... Its like, RS just hit puberty. That's the extent of the changes here. I'm guessing that Jagex finally unveiled it's 'final solution to the RWTer problem'. I still can't make up my mind whether this is good or bad.
