  1. I think the point is that prior to all this new technology, bullying could only happen in person. You could try to avoid people while at school, and you were safe from it once you got home. Now with facebook and youtube and texting and whatnot, the bullying can follow you home too. Yes, there are privacy functions, but it's not such a great situation when you're forced to turn on all kinds of privacy settings for everything you do online just to escape some idiot who wants to harass you, effectively limiting the enjoyment you get out of things that kids nowadays find essential. And, of course, kids rarely know how to deal with this kind of stuff in the right way... it's not an easy thing to admit to, even when you're the victim.
  2. I'm starting my 3rd year of a mechanical engineering degree. My plan at the moment is to complete a MESc (masters) degree in the same field after graduating. Unsurprisingly, I plan to work as an engineer in some capacity, however I'm not really sure in what area, since mechanical engineering is very broad. Still trying to decide whether I like robotics/automation, fluid mechanics, or materials science the best, since those are 3 areas that I could potentially get a job in.
  3. Not to sound ignorant or dumb, but if all the constants for both experiments are the same and the only variable that is different is the weapon, what does it matter? If I was on task I would still be getting the 15% using the CR that I would get using the SS. The same would be said for if I replaced a glory and row with a fury and imbued ring. Not true. Every bit of strength/accuracy bonus favours a faster weapon more than a slow weapon. So even if the gear is matched in both trials, bad gear and low stats will give an advantage to the maul relative to the rapier. EDIT: Oops, didn't notice I was quoting an old post somehow, disregard this. Anyway, I don't plan to ever kill waterfiends again, but I am curious about whether rapier is better than a maul for a totally maxed player.
  4. So you get the new seeds from MTK by setting workers to herbs? None of the rest give any of the new seeds?
  5. I was in Florida on vacation when it still looked like it was going to hit there, but it ended up swerving north and I wasn't hit at all, fortunately.
  6. What's with spammers saying: "Any girls who like horses pm me"? Noticed a spammer in a different spot saying that in that video made by the mod who got de-modded.
  7. What the [bleep], they know that people are just going to buy members on their own new accounts for the bonus exp...

I'm very fortunate to have my parents pay for tuition and other important stuff for me. I'm a full time student, and would not be able to work during the school year. However, I work during the summer (at a restaurant this year), which pays enough to let me have spending/food money for the year. I'll be in school for 2-4 more years. Once I graduate I plan to get some sort of well-paying engineering job (duh). Money is important to me. Not because I'm particularly greedy or even stingy with money, but because I know that I simply have a lot of expensive hobbies (video games mostly), and because I like to eat out, have a nice home, etc. I would not, however, sacrifice happiness or take a job that I absolutely hate just for the money. Working at a restaurant for a few months was bad enough, couldn't imagine feeling that way about a job that I would have for years.
  9. I still haven't found one that works perfectly for me either. I'd use cooltimer or online stopwatch or something, but what I'm looking for something small enough to fit in the black margins of my screen around the edge of runescape when I play in resizable mode. Those ones are too big.

Umm yeah, picture someone asking this question about the U.S., and that's about how hard it is to answer. In fact, Canada is actually bigger... :shades: If you have a specific city/region in mind, then perhaps we could answer accurately! Suppose I'll add my thoughts to your questions though...

  12. Oh dear god why was this thread bumped again?
  13. Corp in a team like that (pretty sure that's one of those mass teams) is basically gambling. Unless you have super high lsp, you'll just lose money (or at best break even if you use really cheap food/potions like some do...). Even with high lsp, you'll only make relatively small profits from the little drops. However, you have a very small chance of getting a sigil - this is the reason most of the people are there.
  14. It doesn't work if you hit a 0.
  15. Unicorn alone is never enough at nex (with a reasonable team size) to completely heal. So, you're always better off starting with a yak and only summoning your unicorn when the yak is empty. Even summoning potions are a less efficient use of inventory space than brews.
  16. I have no idea how many quests are required, but I'd imagine they could all be done in a solid day or two. If I were you, I would try to make up the extra 40-50m that you will need ASAP, and then just altar dragon bones all the way. Lower level bones aren't worth it.
  17. It's never a waste of you can make a reasonable amount of money and/or you have a lot of dg tokens anyway.
  18. Except 200m Rc Xp has been achieved by the almighty Phoenix Odin ;) Have you two ever heard about Runescape hiscores? 23 August, 2009
  19. You simply cannot win in the long term unless you are somehow tipping the odds in your favour. In maxed account boxing, you can't do that. Your expected profit is 0, however, this really only applies with an infinite number of trials. Typically, you'll get cleaned. Since getting cleaned means you're out of cash, you can't keep staking to make it back. There's really not much reason to do it if you're expecting to use it as a source of income. Acknowledge that you are simply gambling, and I'd recommend leaving if you ever win big  As for the doubling your stake each time system: You have a good chance of making a small profit. You have a small chance of getting totally cleaned and losing everything to the point where you don't have enough cash to double anymore.
  20. He calls it "the dungeoneering" lol. Definitely fake anyway. Still... incredibly disappointed with their inability to get rid of the bots when they assured us it could be done if free trade was brought back. It's killing the game, and there are now multiple resources/slayer monsters/locations which are almost unkillable/unobtainable at a reasonable rate due to the sheer volume of bots.
  21. The graphics are good, but it's nothing special.
  22. Haha. At first I was like  there is already a marker exactly where mine was going. But then I remembered who it was. Anyway, I'm only there for the summer anyway, and moving to a different city for the school year. Southern Ontario btw.
  23. I hope you like reborns. Reborns and Gulgea are the bane of warpeds for me. Gulgea wrecks my [cabbage]; I panic so much on those pray switches. I love Gulega  Reborns suck though.
