    Flying

So I just got back from my first flying lesson, and it was awesome :D I mean, it's not something I can ever see myself making a career out of, but it's definitely something I want to learn. The feeling of being able to look down at everything else is just...euphoric. (Especially when it's a nice day and you're at 1500 feet going along the beach :P ) My dad's had a Cessna 182 since before I was born, so flying in small aircraft was nothing new to me, but this was the first time I've ever gotten to do anything other than lower the flaps  Anyone else here fly or take lessons or want to fly?
  3. GParted Live is a free linux live cd that *just* has gparted on it. You can use it to shrink and resize your partitions. Just let the screen pop up, right click on your primary partition, and click on the Move/Resize option. You can use the little slider in that window.
  4. no it isn't..... for IQ tests... the lower the number, the smarter you are. :o :ohnoes: #-o Srsly. If you have to ask, you're either showing off, [cabbage]ting, or trying to show off by [cabbage]ting. :wall:
  5. What skin are you using? It's likely trying to include an outdated advert file, and that page is your IP's error page, not spyware or something else (unless you're not using Peoplepc :uhh: )
  6. For the sound in firefox, going into synaptic and installing flashplugin-nonfree is what worked for me.
  7. Meh, I don't think any alien life with the technology to reach us would be stupid enough to attack us. It's not like we pose a threat or anything, worst case scenario would be to sell us into slave labour or something. Srsly tho, I think they're probably just leaving us on our own to develop a bit more. Imagine just waking up one day and finding out your job is pointless, the science and discoveries you've devoted your life to have already been discovered and mastered hundreds of years ago, all of the people that die of hunger and illness could have been saved...plus there's the whole "if we're not allowed to make our own discoveries we won't be smart enough to use them correctly" thing. So my alien plan: be ridiculously nice to them and ask them for some matter replicators or something :P
  8. I can play source engine games just fine through WINE :|
  9. G-rated is more of a general guideline, I'm assuming. If you use those words to abase somebody, they should be removed, but they sometimes help to get a point across :P If you feel they're going to cause hurt feelings, just report the post and let a mod make a decision on it.
  10. I disagree. I've used limewire for about 3 years and haven't gotten a virus, but the first thing I tried to get from a bittorrent tracker thing (I think it was TPB, maybe not) had a few viruses on it, including a trojan that attempted to open a backdoor on my computer. Well if you're not stupid and don't go around downloading torrents with bad comments, or try to download a movie that's 22mb or something, you'll be fine. It's exactly like what you said, if you know what to look for, you can weed out bad choices easily (and bittorrent is a much, much, *much* more powerful protocol than gnutella)
  11. [hide=Pics] [/hide] Punditkitchen is awesome. (Think lolcats, but with world leaders/random famous people instead of cats  )
  12. Along with what makoto suggested, the output of iwconfig would be helpful. Also check to make sure it's recognizing your port with lspic. It should say "Ethernet controller: ..." or "Network controller: ..."
  13. Ahahaha! I remember that one, the guy mentioned he had strong kidneys, made me crack up
  14. And here's the answer: No. Great... I'll add that to my reasons NOT to use IE Tab. :( Thanks for the info. :) ~D. V. Devnull Well, that's really not what it's for..The whole idea around it is to be able to see how a site looks in IE versus Firefox easily when you're designing it, not to provide a replacement for IE.
  15. Depends entirely on how interesting I find the topic to be. I'm not going to read even all five pages of a thread along the lines of "My mum took the xbox away! Imma be emo naow!" but I could end up reading a ten page thread about how to pieces of computer hardware compare, or about a band or videogame I like :P
  16. The file on the website here should work fine for firefox 2. (If you can get there :/) Go to File, click Open File, and paste http://tip.it/runescape/addon/1-3/tipitmicrohelper.xpi in the box. Also: It looks like there is a problem with macs, I don't really have enough access to a mac to do any debugging work on one, if someone wants to help me debug it, please send me a PM.
  17. If I'm not mistaken, user agent only changes the name of the browser that get's sent to the server, IE Tab actually loads up IE in your firefox window, making it easier to check layout changes in both browsers.
  18. That issue was fixed, I'm quite sure of it :/ And OP, go to File, then click Open File, and paste this in there: http://tip.it/runescape/addon/1-3/tipitmicrohelper.xpi It should pop up the regular installation dialog.
  19. Look underneath or on the back of the router, it's usually printed there along with a bar-code type thing.
  20. Please shut up. The forums are hosted on a different server than the main site, and the site is, in fact, suffering some downtime at the moment. Only thing that you can do it wait it out, I'm afraid. If you want the quest guide, you could try Searching google (replace cooks assistant with whatever quest it is you're looking for), and then viewing their cached page until the site is back up.
  21. Try: Tools -> Options -> Privacy Tab -> Exceptions button -> type 'forum.tip.it' in the box, without quotes, and hit enable.
  22. Heh, same here. "Finally, a chance to show off my kick-[wagon] linux ski...oh..."
