  1. I like most of them, but a problem with all of them seems render blending. All of the renders stand out quite a lot.
  2. ^ That. There is a guide somewhere (link is probably in the resources sticky) on how reduce the filesize of images while maintaining the high quality. Anyway, please use this sticky for questions/resizing next time.
  3. Not a big fan of it. The strange line around the logo is distracting and just doesn't look right. Like littleboy said, it is slightly too monotone, and personally I'm not a big fan of the background effect either. It's pretty bright and those white scratch-ish brushes (?) get boring after a while.

That shouldn't matter. It's stickied for a reason; it will stay at the top of the page and it really is the only place to post your questions.
  5. Icanseemudkipz. Awesome pixels, I love the pink.
  6. Well sorry, but the essence of pixel art is that it usually takes a long time to make. You're not going to make something great in 5 minutes. I'm not saying that's the time you spent on it, but I'm sure you can also see that it does look rushed. There is no real shading, making everything look flat. There are problems with your linework too, it's really messy and needs cleaning up (explained in multiple pixel art tutorials in the resources sticky, check them out). Also, the guy's shoulders/body seem very small compared to his head, but anatomy isn't really the main thing to work on right now, you'll want to get the basics down first by practising with shading on random objects (not people yet). Good luck.
  7. Good job so far. Now make some cool abstracts that we can use. :P
  8. Beamo26 [img=http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/3332/smudgerequestredbluesigxs5.png] Not great, but it's ok I suppose. If you do use it, a little credit would be nice.
  9. ^ Well, it's not impossible, I could make you a smudge signature without a render. But the point is, 'something that looks cool' is not a very accurate description. For example, I might make something that I think looks incredibly cool, but you might hate it. Anyway, I'll give it a try, but I can't promise anything.
  10. ^ If you want something abstract you'll still want to link us to an abstract render, it seems more like a digi paint request currently and I'm sure that wasn't your intention because we don't do those, but some more details so we actually know what you're looking for would be nice.
  11. Sorry for the delay, I should have had it finished a while ago, but here it is anyway. Hope you like it... :ohnoes:
  12. I quite like number one, but a problem with all of those is depth IMO. I can see that #4 and 5 don't need a lot of depth, but I think #1 and 2 definitely do.

That is so untrue. But anyway, you need to learn how to blend the render into the background so it doesn't look like its just pasted on top. The border does not fit at all. While it looks kinda neat, it doesn't fit this piece. And the text needs work. If you want a place that has lots of texts you can look through and download, try http://www.dafont.com Agreed, but to be honest I don't think the border looks particularly neat. :-? I'm not going to go into detail since I think you need to get to grips with the basics more first, but overall it's a pretty average first signature (I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way) that needs work on render blending, backgrounds, text and borders.

Defaults are great for smudging. Try not to rely too much on cutom brush sets that other people made, you can use them, but it's generally better to make backgrounds/effects using the smudge tool and/or stocks, C4Ds, etc., but you'll probably learn that as you go. Anyway, I'm pretty sure this should be in the questions sticky, but I'll leave it up to mods to decide on that since this thread could have some discussion value.
  15. Good (IMO, obviously): Text, I actually like its simplicity and the placement. Colours, they go well together. Background, I like the cloudy feel, although I do think it needs something added to it. Not so good (again, IMO): The wave effect thing you used to blend. To me, it isn't very clear which parts actually belong to the original render, making it too hard to see some details. How to fix: You could keep the effect, but try smudging it to make the effect itself blend in more or remove it completely and use a different blending technique for the render. The sparkles, they have more of a soft look, so I don't think they go too well with the 'harder' (clean lines, more blocks of one colour, etc.) look of the render. How to fix: Either remove the sparkles (and preferably replace them with something else, I was thinking clipping masks), or incorporate them into the signature more somehow (I wouldn't really know how). The background. While I think this is also a positive point, it needs some spicing up and more contrast. How to fix: Adjust contrast (obviously ), and maybe add a stock image and smudge/blur/erase some parts of that.

Looks great, I just like the smooth look of it. I would agree that the hand does need work though, especially the thumb looks strange where it connects to the main part of the hand.
  17. Yes, another point, isn't there a rule that says that art you post has to be at least 50% your own work? This certainly isn't, unless you are the original creator of the C4D and the designer of the font, which I'm pretty sure you aren't.
  18. Honest opinion? Well you pretty much said it all there, sorry but the cold hard truth is that you're not going to make a good signature in 2 minutes using two very limited programs. Sure, I can understand that it's a first try and maybe you weren't trying to make something very artistic at all, but please put some more time into your work. Your avatar picture doesn't work for me, by the way.
  19. I think it's a bit too simple. I mean, it's just white space with a C4D and some text with a shadow effect. Don't get me wrong, something like that can work if the composition or another aspect of the signature is absolutely great, but to be honest I don't think that's the case here. I think the concept of a grey C4D and black text on a plain white background has potential, but this particular sig would need a lot of reworking.
  20. Agreed with Julius, the arrow isn't needed. Great flow and good use of bubble C4Ds, but they do get a bit repetitive. Try using some other effects too, and not only C4Ds. I'd also get rid of the scanlines, not because I think they're distracting, but because they're hardly recognizable as scanlines which makes some parts of the signature look messy. Good job though.

Damn great. Clean up the sides a little though.
  22. You made the right decision TBH little, I was really slow. Plus, mine was fail anyway:
  23. 1. Nadril 2. Yaff2 3. MrShinyRedPlanet 4. Stilev 5. Kaphias Thanks for the votes so far guys. :)
  24. Hi guys. :anxious: Don't worry, I will get it done.

Some great shots, I also really like the one of the dragonfly on a frog's head. Keep up the good work.
